Took my hands and spotted the scars
Brainstorming on followers i would set loose
Serving my persona amidst fictitious comrades
Whipped out flaunting dummy soma
Chasing down the soul to bent toward authentic self
Seeking my failings hidden in brandish bits...

1.29 plus tax
light it up
hour glass countdown
quadruple meltdown
she keeps her lamp burning
but it's illegal
3000 years

The parents eagerly get on their computer daily
For their first baby is at a college an hour away
Her social posts keep them in the loop
a regular routine
morning hi
here is me fixing my hair
eating cereal for breakfast
say hi to my roommate
on my way to class
lunch break
me and my friends
supper is pizza
found a stray dog
her parents hold their breath until her first post
every single day

Highway Posts
As I travel through my twilight years,
I see posts on a long winding highway
And post holes empty as yet though
I ask you to let me fill them with lights
That shine on the dark ones with gratitude.
For every post that is blackened
Or bears a flippant sign,
You taught me more love even when
The anger or pain came first.
How I thank You for the life you planned
And protected me through my foolish sinning,
The consequences that you spared me,
That were most deserved.
This Sunday afternoon You have urged me
To write to You and not sleep,
To write for You gave me that desire,
To tell who reads, I desire to inspire.
Inspire by telling the story of your Kindness,
Remembering how You have saved and are saving my lives,
And give me grief for those I have lost,
Grief that has tempered my soul.
To learn to say “we” not “I”
For never, never were “We” alone.

I push 'submit' twice
Sighed...I roll destiny's dice..
It goes with a price
Trying to delete the verse
Oops, it was by accident
No delete button...
Well...Poetrysoup...
Needs to change that feature quick
Or more will complain
Both poems have views
Hah! oh well, both are from me
Original two's
But now, it's old news
It was a perfect mistake
Guess double the views!!
(Double the smiles and comments too I hope)

I stand at my post, ready for battle
My focus is on my surroundings, a good officer is familiar with their surrounding.
This may extreme, because few people are ready for battle.
It’s hard to win the battles in life, if we are closed off to what’s around us.
When we approach life and are unprepared for what’s ahead of us
When our focus is on the wrong things, we are busy looking to the right and the left.
We allow our victories to go right out the door
Maybe I’m too deep with all this, maybe I’ve lost my focus
And maybe people are not dying in the streets.
Maybe crime is not a new high, and maybe things are not out of hand
And yet I remain at my post, ready for battle
No false sense of security for me, I know where my help comes from, the LORD.
When the days get dark, and darkness is all around us
I look up, I look up,
I win the battle because it’s not my power or strength
My help comes from the LORD
So I invite you come stand at your post, the battle has already begun

Gently…
lamp posts call me,
to sleep on rainfall’s quilt
as dewdrops, to misty stardust
calm breath.

Lustrously exposed, save the lamp posts
How inviting…shadows of two
wrapped in pearly silver---
a moving photograph in pastel colors
framing a moment’s rendezvous
as dusk filters the pavement;
right where bodies shimmer undercover.
Trees wave at the moon for traces of desire
on a byway of glowing motion,
the silhouettes hazy yet engaged
in malleable outlines when hours linger
to wait for a tender affair’s finale;
past the radius of lamp posts
while the stretch of intimacy pours its last glow.

Heard the word
Flags have unfurled
My double posts
Gone round the world
Have patience friends
For wayward signals
They are as dicey
As worm wiggles
