Just the Three of Us

When I think of you
I think of Chimney Rock
Singing songs together
All the way to the top

I will never get over you
You were my first born at best
You and Jon together, good times
History is laid to rest

Your father died very young
So, it was me and you there for Jon
He was so silly, never knew what was was going on
Which was good for him, he just kept chugging along

You and I drinking espressos
Talking about this and that
Jon playing in the sand
We liked the Cali beach a lot

You were the coolest kid I had ever seen
We loved to listen to 80’s music
And watching independent films on screen
While, Jon would try to keep up with what it means

God blessed me with a good job
So, I could support you two alone
Nothing did you want for
And, nothing did you need

Now, you’ve passed and left us
Just me and Jon behind
We drive around listening to 80’s music
And, we watch independent films from time to time

I do not know how to end this
So, thank you for being in our lives
You brought us many years of joy
All our days and nights.

Dedicated to Joshua L. Pokorny 2/6/87 - 7/20/12

To My Eldest

Joshua Louis Pokorny Sullivan

Joshua was a beautiful soul
always soaring about

He brought love, laughter to everyone
even those who knew him not

Joshua was a beautiful soul
always expressing himself through art

He brought beauty, color, and humor
to everything he crossed

Joshua was a beautiful soul
always kind, compassionate, and strong

He tried to keep going and going
obstacles all along

Joshua was a beautiful soul
always funny, comforting, and smart

He knew just what to say and do
to make him be apart of you

Joshua was a beautiful soul
a wounded bird that no one could catch

He wanted to live in a life of ease
feeling no pain or disease

Joshua was a beautiful soul
no more problems to attend

He lives in Heaven now
like the Rose of Sharon

Joshua was a beautiful soul
the only rose in a field of trees.

He will always be loved
and never forgotten

Joshua IS a beautiful soul.........
