Just the Three of Us
When I think of you
I think of Chimney Rock
Singing songs together
All the way to the top
I will never get over you
You were my first born at best
You and Jon together, good times
History is laid to rest
Your father died very young
So, it was me and you there for Jon
He was so silly, never knew what was was going on
Which was good for him, he just kept chugging along
You and I drinking espressos
Talking about this and that
Jon playing in the sand
We liked the Cali beach a lot
You were the coolest kid I had ever seen
We loved to listen to 80’s music
And watching independent films on screen
While, Jon would try to keep up with what it means
God blessed me with a good job
So, I could support you two alone
Nothing did you want for
And, nothing did you need
Now, you’ve passed and left us
Just me and Jon behind
We drive around listening to 80’s music
And, we watch independent films from time to time
I do not know how to end this
So, thank you for being in our lives
You brought us many years of joy
All our days and nights.
