The Artist and Repertoire Man

The A&R man is on his guard,
His spinning in his chair,
He only wants the plumpest fruit,
From the musical vineyard.

If he knows your name your half way there,
He is jumping in his chair,
If you are new to the block, you might as well,
Stop because he just does not care.

You can play the guitar, you can sing a song,
He is sleeping in his chair,
You can work alnight, you can work all day,
But he is not aware.

Gooseberries and Sharp Creases

GOOSEBERRIES AND SHARP CREASES

The plumpest, juiciest, hairiest gooseberries
My grandfather grew in a circular bed,
Dead centre of the immaculate lawn.
And blackcurrants under netting,
And a Victoria plum tree in the far corner.
He taught me to hitch up my trousers at the knee
When I sat down, to avoid spoiling the creases.
And to touch the peak of my cap
When I passed a lady in the street.
But he was a sick man;
Tuberculosis and diabetes that would send him
Into long, deep comas.
He would have taught me a whole lot more,
But for that final coma.

Luna Lace

I patiently wait for a clear night sky for to look upon the moon
She mesmerizes me totally with eyes wide open I swoon
As soon as I see her crescent above I gaze each night completely in love
And as she grows my heartstrings play for when she takes my breath away
She is the brightest light up high and when she’s at her plumpest
Oh such a glorious sight to espy her brilliant white light is the purest
Moonbeams shower me from above spreading Luna lace and moonbeam love

AUTUMN ROYAL

The Autumn leaves, of crackling crimson hope,
will reap, with tremendous strength, to inspire.
The aged and youth - in chilly weather cope.
Let’s go! Awake the rake! Awake the fire!

The kids just can’t resist, they stack it high’r,
away from glowing ginger flame, and jump.
They howl with laughter, give a strong fist bump.

Small Suzy grabs the plumpest pumpkin gourd,
young Albert, rushes for the tallest rake,

and grandma stirs some oil with saffron, stored
up for this festival, with rice and steak.
Love’s Cinnamon, spiced scent of apple cake.

The umber leaves are kicked about, and thrown,
until the amber snap, of daddy’s tone.

Simply

I want for love to be wild
and intoxicatingly sweet-
a lilac haze of laughter,
the plumpest seed,
gentle, like those mornings after
two lovers mingled over kisses,
yet hungry, even ravenous for more

I want for love to sometimes become furious,
bare its teeth
and demand to be heard-
it should feel uncomfortable at times,
both foreign and home
on the same land-
its soil freshly plowed,
healthy,
and waiting to give birth

I want for love
to simply love me,
and let my roots dig in

Enticement

Come play with me, are you following?
Brace yourself now, it's about to begin.
A drawing power that can't be explained,
a hope, an allure then change to deranged.
Snaring the weak, encourage the brave,
becoming the master but never the slave.
A promise that falls from the plumpest of lips
and speaks them as kisses upon curvy hips.
A sweetner to what is a bitter conclusion,
the last chapter closed with a sense of confusion.
Cajoling and teasing, the inveiglement,
a constant reminder that you will repent
and repel the seduction so horribly wrong,
yet so right,
forget that your heart's not where it should belong.
Taking the bait, the wrong turn in the road,
shoulders lay fractured from burdening loads.
Arousing a scene with a love movie theme,
where nothing is real,or even a dream.
Concocted and conjoured, manipulated
to thinking that love can't become a habit.
Addictive, a poison that freezes your veins,
and shatters when 'loved' turns into 'betrayed'.

Your Honeyed Lips

your honeyed lips
the two of them thrill me
I don't mention my favoritism
regarding the bottom one
however, it can't be denied
I believe it may be
that it is the plumpest
of the two
I imagine if I bit it
strawberry filling would emerge
because that is a flavor
I can't live without
but the two of them I need
for your sweet whispers
I love the dance they
do across my skin
pirouettes and spins
leaving a trail of
moistened kisses
but again
don't tell the top one
how I am drawn to
the bottom one because
your honeyed lips
the two of them thrill me

Hope

Peanuts nestled in my palm
Awaiting Black Capped Chickadees
These little pirates claimed their booty
And stole my heart away

Clawed feet hooked ‘round my pinky
As they appraised the contents
Then snatched the plumpest nuts
Yet no plunder was involved

When I begin to lose all hope
It seems I feel those tiny toes
Mere ounces lift my weighty pain
A fair exchange indeed
