Singapore
Now that would be quite an artist's chore.
To stroke onto canvass those ever changing colours;
That blue of happiness turning swiftly into grey depression.
Clear whites of eyes blurring helplessly into bloody red.
This soldier's portrait is only as strong as his weakness,
Strength drawn from a jaw line which needs to smile.
So where is the reality that drew me here?
One painter's brush could never capture my entire being.

As sun shines brightly on the east
Symbolizes a day with hope and bliss
Visited thy heart in peace
Contentment, exclaims, please!!!
Going steadily at work
Anticipating better or worse
As hours continues its course
Minding drops of sweats pour
Face to channels of options
Up to you, for exemptions
Interruptions or motivations
Halting awhile, for deep inhalation
Smile, in between busy days
Wink and wave to things that pass by
Never ever be scared of anyone
Chill and be relax with a lullaby
PLAINLY SPEAKING
the verdict is in
cigarettes do cause cancer
it’s been known for years
the verdict is in
those who smoke can become hooked
it’s been known for years
right on the package –
“Cigarettes may cause cancer” –
or to that effect
outrageous taxes!
smoking is too expensive
it’s outrageous!
but they go right on,
these hooked victims of smoking,
ignoring the facts
a desperate need –
smoking, like the need for gasoline –
and prices will soar!
come on, let’s face it!
the big money is riding on
our human weakness
and the end result?
very rich or very poor,
the new age classes
Certain things are just not said,
When we're in certain comp'ny.
Words and phrases seldom heard,
Are often looked at funny.
No longer is good common sense,
The rule of thumb, the norm,
So often plainly spoken words,
Will take on different form;
'Cause most folks just don't listen,
To what is being said,
And oft the words go rattling 'round.
Inside an empty head;
Then they draw their own conclusions,
Concerning what you said,
Even though they've not a clue,
The story they will spread.
If what you hear sounds strange to you,
The facts a little off,
Consider who you're talking to,
Before you laugh and scoff,
At someone you may barely know,
If in fact at all,
And what you heard is hearsay,
Just gossip all in all.
When others speak, just listen,
And make sure you understand.
Keep your mind upon the topic,
Don't short change your fellow man.
Remember to speak plainly,
Not to be misunderstood,
And remember too that gossip,
Don't do anybody good.
(Have you ever noticed that those who talk the most are usually the ones who have little else to do? And often they really don't know much more than we do. My grandmother used to say the dog on the shortest chain does the most barking.)
