from dusk's heady play
pages reel on free-winged flight,
where pixies sashay
to awe child's world , to delight
one runic quest... her birthright!
DUST PIXIES INSIDE GRANNY’S CEDAR CHEST
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amidst the ancient whispers of timeworn wood,
underneath time and the cedar’s scent
a gathering of dust pixies flutters, luminescent.
adventurous, bubbly, curious, daring, effervescent.
Their xerophytic murmurs fill the attic air;
dancing on sunbeams upon gossamer wings,
these aerial acrobats ballet on dust motes illuminantly.
flecks glimmer, hundreds invade jubilantly.
Prismatic creatures of color, lively as summer’s breeze,
they celebrate the dust, mundane
journeying through mystical realms where they reign.
kaleidoscopic, luminous, microscopic, numerous, opulent.
Zipping back into the cedar’s shadows,
innocent guardians of memories hide in forgotten linens,
their fleeting glimpse of magic locked away.
playful, quirky, restless, synchronous, twinkletoes
Pixies
Pixies brush their
teeth with
breadcrumbs.
Some people don’t hike through the wood,
especially on All Hallows Eve.
Ghosts of boys and girls of good
float at the campfire, if you believe.
Elves and pixies dance through the trees,
with taunting, mocking, and leering.
They swing and sway in the brash breeze,
their faces frighteningly jeering.
What was that? The crack in the wind
unleashes demons and banshees!
Their hideous yowling will send
even the bravest to their knees.
Ghosts and goblins arise from their graves,
harmonize in a cacophonous chant.
Don’t try to hide in the darkened caves.
They’ll find you in their raucous rant.
They’ll steal your bones with giggling glee
and make toothpicks with your ribs.
Quickly now, turn. Run, and flee
before they find you and call out “Dibs!”
They were dream sirens who fit into everybody’s wheelhouse
Four dream quintessentials named for their special talents.
Are they faeries, goddesses or pixies? People asked sandman.
It did not matter; they were faith, love, hope and joy.
Faith gave dreams that helped people believe in the unseen.
Her special talent was to uplift, enthuse, and enlighten.
Spirituality was her base, she did not push personal doctrines.
Her sisters were amazed at her talents, they were magnificent.
Love gave husbands and wife mutual dreams.
Dreams that inspired words like dearest, beloved and honey.
Hope uplifted people’s expectations, inspiring dreams and wishes.
Joy added to their dreams with passion, enthusiasm and joy.
I`ve seen them dance with Dodos at dawn
and slide down curves of a mammoth's tusk
to swim in the midst of creation`s spawn,
then define the gloaming and name it dusk.
I`ve seen them skate on the scalp of pluto
and confirm that saturn's rings are of ice;
then suspect all planets like games of Cluedo:
The who dunnit query of who made life?
I sit at the end of the wooden pier near the river's edge,
my feet splashing the blue mirrored hedge
watching the swirls on the depthless water.
In my hand a wild spray of dandelions, tiger lilies, bearberries
and parchment. Cool current veers unhindered away from the ledge
by nature's land; behind the trees where elves, pixies, and fairies
dwell upon green blade of the herbal sweet sedge.
Dip in freckle orange tiger lily crinkle hats and veg
flitting around from tree to tree, peer beautiful sensual pixies.
In the calm melody of dance all trim in fluff and buff fairies
in their yellow dandelion bellow skirts and soft chicks fledge.
The old Elf poet sings and reaches for parchment and ink bearberry bushes.
In and out the bees, butterflies, and hummingbird flutter
to savor the nectar from the chalice of fragrance of flowers.
The brilliant sunshine finds its way behind the trees and shudders.
Sleepy, I rose and walked home to the river's edge.
A Rhyme blessed with words once upon a time
A hidden retreat where joy and laughter are forbidden
Alone high in her tower the princess doth sigh
Her mind drifts to school days, friends so kind
The king of the pixies his magic did sing
The song of strength and power to last lifelong
A knight will bring her forth into days light
Imbued with intelligence a true hero out of myth
A white gem held high dispels songs of might.
For the competition Plucky Two By Nine
Watching the sunlight shatter
and regroup to sliver again
in refractory bliss across the bay
evening shadows lengthen
and the kaleidoscope pixies
play across my eyes
while the silent hiss of suns' set
under rose and lavender skies
etches my life.
Pixie walks in the magical forest with sprites,
pixies, and leprechauns all play all day long,
I give you rains of crystals,
Clouds of golden silver flakes,
Rays of rainbows in a misty dew,
I dance in a bed of flowers,
I smile as bright as the sunshine,
I make it my quest to help you to smile too,
Clap for me,
Clap for me,
Clap if you believe in me,
That helps me to live longer,
Please smile for me,
That helps me to live longer too,
I fly around all over the magical forest,
You can guess I am a pixie all dressed in green,
Sing with me,
Sing with me,
Let’s fly around and sprinkle flakes of golden silver rainbows,
With pots o gold,
Let’s have fun;
Let’s have fun,
Let’s play like kids would,
I give you my gesture of happiness by smiling for you,
Thanks a million and please come play again!
A sprite comes over, plays alittle tune for you from his flute and
Then gives you flowers.
