Pixies At the Gate

A Rhyme blessed with words once upon a time
A hidden retreat where joy and laughter are forbidden
Alone high in her tower the princess doth sigh
Her mind drifts to school days, friends so kind
The king of the pixies his magic did sing
The song of strength and power to last lifelong
A knight will bring her forth into days light
Imbued with intelligence a true hero out of myth
A white gem held high dispels songs of might.

"Old friends, new friends, the king of the Pixies... lots happening here, Shane! The competition...Plucky= Brave, yes? Two courageous mortals free the pixies? Oh Shane...I'm starting to giggle.:) They escape on unicorns lead to safety By Nine muses? Unicorn=symbol of purity and truth. I think you are most akin to these unicorns. Friendly, kind and honest! My dear friend Mikki, you always make me smile with your wonderful words. I would dearly love to find pixies in my garden but alas I find neither wing nor wand no matter how hard I search. As to the the monocerus You are far to generous. It is you I think that bears this creatures soul. love Shane xxx

I was going to write a fantasy anyway then i remembered the poem Jan wrote for the contest so I thought I would give it a try. I think I got the form right but even if I didn't it was still fun to write. love Shane xxx

In your case my dear friend your spell is more bright than that of a lighthouse. If i were a moth i would have perished a thousand times being drawn into you flame. Comparison does not negate the truth expounded by one soul it but enhanses the beauty of of the collective soul. love Shane xxx

Grazie mia amica, I am still enamoured by the writes that Mikki has created. I have never seen such brilliant fantasy penned before. I have three or four statred but stalled poems on the theme of fantasy I am daunted by her work but as I had started this I thought to meld it to the form of the competition and then I could not embarras my self to badly. Thank you for visiting me I am also totally enamoured by your words in everything you pen, so different to Mikki yet for me I fall into each of your paintings so easily and words turn to emotions, sounds, feelings. I am transported to your now. Again I think I need Justin's words to describe the feeling mine fall dismally short of the mark. All my love Shane xxx

Thank you Dorian, it cheers my heart to know that we still can still believe in such things from our childhood. It is a gift to those of us who can draw those memories to the fore. Be safe and find happiness and fulfilment in your day. Love Shane xxx
