Pigpen Poems

Premium MemberSnoopy Easter

Easter rabbits surrounded the beagle and he began to dance
Springtime grasses urged Snoopy on, so he began to prance.
More rabbits arrived at the meadow on Charlie Brown’s hill.
Lucy and Charlie came too, and Pigpen who smelled like dill.
Charles Schultz is smiling as he draws a dancing Snoopy today.
If there is one thing this cartoonist knows how to do, it is to play!

This For That

If you don’t speak pig Latin,
that’s all muddy okay
Ignorant bliss slop chatting,
this be the swine way

Quid pro quo
is a pig tell only
when you Latin show
need to know know

This Seller conversation bee busy e-Bay
That Buyer rhetoric reply is a sting yea

Quid pro quo,
it’s the dirty methane manure vow burn
Do do one vig favor for me,
and I’ll do do one for you in sow return

Pig Latin patsy cough drop puffs,
this is nasty, mucky breath stuff
that be so stool pigeon hard to bellyache learn

Get me this,
and I’ll give you that —
Filthy lucre deals only be of wee buck concern

Quid pro quo
is an udder miry, scandal blow-buy oppo info-blow
There’s no no need for anyone to poppy milk know
But[t] smart-alecky Snoop Dogg snouts
have got their pig Latin dictionaries out

This is an odious ixnay pigpen violation —
Secret piggy bank account rap is being legally recorded
That can’t abide any oink consideration,
‘cause squeal messages aren’t Joe B. Taxpayer afforded

Educated Nonsense

(For the Lack of anything else to call it)
          Educated Nonsense

I’d run but I’m so very tired of running.
I'd fall but I'm already on the ground.
I'd like to gain what seems so unattainable;
I'm looking for what already has been found.

I'm an idiot on a box of powder,
That at any given moment may go off.
I'm a cultured pig within a cultured pigpen;
Eating corn from out a cultured trough.

I sing a garbled song of wealth and power.
I recite a tangled verse of greed and pride.
I can stand for anything that can be stood for;
And in every single verse and line I've lied.

I'm a clown making lots of funny faces.
I'm a kid buying masks for Halloween.
I'm a tin man in a silver plated garden;
Hissing curses at everything unclean.

I'm a fat-cat getting rich at penny-ante.
I'm a women's libber screaming to be free.
I'm every tin and plastic silly person;
In this world, nation and society.

Premium MemberMy Little Man Takes His Axe

Im living in my pigpen
Its my kitchen its my den

Flunking school just can't sit still
My moms convinced I need some kind of pill

I just need a haircut every now and then
At school don't need no paper I don't need no pen

Time to pick up this axe show a little will
Time to get off my butt get on my axe and KILL

Lord of the Trash

Pile up the gristle and race to the top. There's Nazis in the pigpen, elitists in the slop. Social media heroes in a false Saving grace. Why don't you go Murder the police, and shoot nazis in the face? When it all comes full circle it bites back with rows of teeth.

Shatter worn out notions, discard old ideas, burn down dead beliefs.

Slave to the grave, Herd like mentalities walk a path that's been paved. Bloody knees you'll beg for your scene to be saved. Just become a dirty kid when there is no longer a rave. Lowering the standards of a mundane lifestyle. Status quo justifies filth as a need. Consume everything to satisfy your hungrer and greed.

A parasitic life form, a human disease.

Victimize this, victimize that. I'll victimize you with a baseball bat. It's all about you on your Internet feed. It's all about you and your corporate greed. It's all about you on the cell phone screen. Devour rotten harvest from an ignorant seed.

Rewarding mediocrity with a fistful of cash. Messiah of empty praise, Lord of the trash.

Victimize this, victimize that. I'll victimize you with a baseball bat.

Lonesome Dove

He was always like that Peanuts
character named Pigpen,
with dust, bad odors and piles
of dirt always following him,
and bathing once a year
was certainly not enough,
and if by chance you had
to stand by him all you'd
do is gag and cough,
the townsfolk disappearing
whenever he showed up,
finally nicknaming him
poor Lonesome Dove,
you could say poor Lonesome
was so lonesome he lived
his life like a cowboy monk,
not fully realizing he
smelled as bad as a skunk,
one day as he was getting
baptized in the Brazos river,
the Preacher said Lonesome
you are now a new person
and have a new heart,
but may I suggest that you
take this here bar of soap
and wash all your bodily parts,
so Lonesome did just that
and worked up a good lather,
and ever since he now bathes
daily and even takes a shower.

Premium MemberWounded

Come and gone like small twister
like the cloud of debris he’s left.
Echoes of Charlie Brown’s buddy Pigpen
blow through the cobwebs in memory.
Left over coffee cups replacing
Transformers still dumped in the attic.
Reams of knarley skateboards, wheel-less,
lay in piles like so much unburnable refuse.
The obligatory hugs and peck, over and done
the never paid chauffeur collapses…

Ah, to have him always near,
So, each kiss was not quite so dear.
The last fair maid on parade has wandered across
the home front, wondering about her predecessor,
still tacked with magnets to the fridge,
still part of my heart and his…

Sons…they say, do not cause such angst.
Couldn’t prove it by this mother.
This maternal blimp of unused helium
was not permitted a girl child.
One did come and fleetingly leave before formed.
We’ll never know the sweetness of her.

Let the image of his manly self disperse, this son..
into the mist as his Father’s has…
to be remembered again, only in times of need, his need,
for to do anything else, would be to rub salt
in an open wound.
