Can we not fear that nowadays the world is somehow
too an Internet room for us to search and find news and to
interconnect with one another so much such that
anything stir especially slur or slack?.
More to that the narrow or morrow or swift nature of the
roads and some of the ways for instance?, shape like
mirror like petroleum jelly like picture like stone or like a
sort of jewel.
We know that war has made history but is it not
something that is testing human's ability to control and
solve?.
Yes, what is the damning sense of the mundane now
, silence or pretence?.

These are two of my poems that were for class. The first was just a basic description of the jar of Vaseline, and the second was a figurative poem describing me as the jar.
A jar of Vaseline
A jar of Vaseline
With a blue lid
Yellow petroleum jelly inside
Words on front and back
In an opaque container
Stamped on the back in black
Opened and dipped into
Russell Sivey
The Jelly of Me
Jelly incorporates my inner self
Lips concealed with the petroleum
The lid covers my insecure section
Which pulses with a gel-like ease
Stamped to show the year I would die
If allowed to exist, I might not be as strong
Beyond
And seeing through me
Isn’t as easy as it once was
I carry secrets within my belly
Of jelly once lubricated on her lips

Starting earlier every year,
Christmas costs more and more with less cheer.
This year Santa fell flat.
His diet took the fat,
Elves said,” this will not be good” they fear.
Watching commercials, they got idea.
Close diners, except pizzeria.
Each ad on T.V. now,
Pictures of pizzas wow!
Santa gains, without diarrhea.
Ads worked, he got a jolly belly.
Elves solemnly sat in a deli.
Commercialized just right,
His red suit fit so tight,
They needed petroleum jelly.

Is Oil tasty?
The filthy crude;
what is the allure?
It isn't food.
Yet here I stand be-trodden;
astonished at what I see,
everyone is eating Oil;
how can this be? How can this be?
They put it on their toast,
they put it in their cheese,
they slurp it whole-
and with such ease.
The thought makes me recoil;
people are eating OIl;
It's in every mouth,
in every belly,
chased down with petroleum jelly;
egads it's sick-(ick).
This cannot be healthy;
It cannot be sane,
who in their right mind would do this?
Do I shout in vain?
The madness cannot last;
it simply can't go on,
It's just a phase, it'll pass
I'll try to regain my calm.
EEP!!!!
Headline(Front page)
Oil too popular-
Food is obsolete.
Oil is now the official food of earth;
starvation...what a treat.

Form: I do not know?
would it be awkward to tell you
how the whole world
smells like petroleum jelly
or that the latex on my fingers
seems never to wear off
to explain
that after a while
they're all the same
one more mark
in a sea of the willing
if you offer the right look,
seeming supplications,
the most brittle of vows
all for a small recompense
that's never enough
it's more than an hour
you lose
in the company of hands
that offer no shelter
