Shadows 9-22-23

Shadows
Living in ethereal shadows of compassion,
In profiles of grace,
Mercy overshadows stumbling stones
Revealed in a lens of benevolent focus
To eclipse blisters of ebony shades
With wispy balms of healing from raining penumbras,
No longer shadow boxing with bruising lacerations.
Shadows of grace pursue cutting eclipses
And wraps golden coronas of clarity
Around impenetrable guilt, treachery and betrayal,
Forgiveness foreshadowed in rising cumulous mists
Chasing cringing palls back into impotent hollows
Creating translucent patterns of favor
In delicate dews of lotus clour.
Ever present living pierced hands of agape,
In crimson shadow’s continual canticles,
Engulfs dark demon wraiths with pure mystery
And with silhouettes of the eternal Eden
Reveals perpetual truth –
No shadow can with withstand
The incense of everlasting grace.

Tired Muscles, Cortexually Speaking
Straining against the ice-cold rhetoric-
Spewing from a winter of discontent; alive
Only because statues never die, they just
Spout specious diatribes from the halls of
Congress, under glaring tv lights; illuminating
Lascivious lip-smacking gargoyled journalists
Intent on destruction, in any way, at every
Opportunity, America....but I did promise a
Thaw! it was the prelude title before the title
Of this penumbras poem...
I need only look outside, to the nearby tree-line
Tubes snaking thru the maple trees, yes! a
Sugarbush!
Nature is real, statues are not!
My spirit seeks joy
I know where to look, vaya con dios...

On a halcyon stroll on a crepuscular street
My jealousy got flowing for my hound in retreat
His visceral powers and sonorous bark
Alerted by penumbras half in the dark
On an opulent lawn, a close neighbor of mine
The desultory moon making shadow puppets with vines
I laughed at my hound in a cynical laugh
While quieting his exuberant loud aftermath
Rewarded his vigilance in spite of retrieval
Fortunately for us, he did see no evil.

Llegaste a mí como rayos de sol,
cuando iluminan un bosque sombrío;
disipando con tu radiante amor,
mis penumbras de soledad y hastío.

Lone Wolf…
He is the irony unto his lonesome self
Thrust upon this world
A cub youngling
He absconds from family
In search of something else
The Lone Wolf…
A spirit found, a spirit lost
Travails path of storm and wind
Looking and seeking
The nomad hunter without friends
Loneliness the only cost
A Lone Wolf…
Forever bearing the intensity of heart
Burning into mind’s eye
Sardonic is his never knowing
Consequence of playing part
Lone Wolf…
Finding refuge within darkness…
From fast approaching storms
But, sanctuary from his own madness…
Found only in brashness and honor
Of the soul that roams
The Lone Wolf…
Like the undiscovered serpent of the sea…
The soaring eagle
Longs only to be free
But instinct his jailer
And hunger his need
A Lone wolf…
A vanishing vagrant into long drawn shadows…
Woodlands of a twilight sun
Pursuing fresh quarry scents
Unsullied mate she wolves natal young’s
Lone Wolf…
His lonesome irony abets in its return
As nights timber penumbras tumble forth…
A semblance of spectral sirs
Whelps of innocence from the night to the lunar lights…
Do not go unheard

Waxing Lyrical
‘Tis true
Thou arte more fair than this high ridden morn
More enamoured of you ‘pon a suns corona
This heart beating is
And with mirth does it rise
Its resuscitation on a break-ed light
Bandies nought with shade
But cavorts thus on a mysteries wing
Flight of angels thou do become
By prescience more
And yea, shall I walk ‘neath a palladiums light
Twas seared in mine soul
Of her
No more fortune than this my soul desireth
‘Tis Ma’Lady
As she steeped ‘ont the lilly
Her pale foot stepped ‘pon penumbras edge
Trod she so, with delicate
And cast thus into this heart
And I betwixed eclipse
More enamoured of her than ‘pon the suns corona
This beating heart is
