Peevishly Poems

Premium MemberNow, Now, Mister President

They gave Mister Biden a tongue-twister
But his tongue got tangled and it blistered
      First he scowled peevishly
      Then he said sheepishly
“Thought I read ‘Kamala’ ~ tried to kiss her”

Premium MemberGood Advice for Good-For-Nothing Naysayers

To suffer the insults of fools is a worthless thing.
Dismiss, and disregard, unthinking, tactless fellows,
who've nothing else to do (like court jesters of a king)
than peevishly chide, rail, protest in foolish bellows!

'Tis better to give praise, tribute, and to confer fame.
Or, when laurels are scarce, offer instead your support:
sweet words incline the heart, indictments just inflame;
for good-for-nothings just blitz you as a first resort.

Premium MemberLeftbrain Rightwing Dominance

When reading
and singing
and dancing poetry,
enspiriting Earth's choreography,
I need not check my LeftBrain dominance
at rhetoric's RightWing healing door,

But bring PatriCapitalist Him with me
at least once more
to heal and restore

What EarthMothers wisely preach
and indigenously practice
and adore

No severance
between Earth's natural systemic Truths
and Ego's spiritual reanimation
restoring healthy EarthyBeauty
thriving
resilient abundance

By letting go
of peevishly competitive
LeftBrain dominantly domesticated
satiated
uneducated
about regenerative systemic design

And, thereby RightWing overgrown
predative
desecrating

Former sacredly healthy green climates
now more pathological
by over-petted Anthros
over-self invested,
Earth infesting pests

With voracious AnthroDivine appetities
of LeftBrain dominant parasites
preying on RightBrain prominent
EarthMother feminists

Who now lament,

"Straight White PatriCapitalists:
can't resonantly love with'em,
can't resiliently live without'em."

The Melt

December did not call him out
to the creek,
it was a prod from a walking god
whose legs had grown stiff.

The softening stream is smoky,
a recuperating sun is unlocking the frozen,
slivers and floes jostle to be one
with the melt and miasma.

He watched water rats playing tag
with each other’s tails.
He had argued with her
and was kicking around a grievance.
Peevishly he lobed small stones
at the rats;
they dived into the banks for cover
but soon come out again
to enjoy the spate of the stream.

Water rats seem immune to
prolonged caution and fear,
maybe they are as forgetful as goldfish
or simply habituated to risk.

It was then that he knew
that he had to go home and apologize,
mend what was broken, hold her close
until she melted and flowed again.

Premium MemberGrouchy Gripe

Grumbles and groans about all she sees.
                      Bellyaching and complaining
                   Fussing, kicking and squawking
                            Peevishly petulant
                               bitter mudgeon
                               grouchy whiner
                                    a surly
                                   boorish
                                     gripe

Summer Day

Mumbl'ng beetle dances peevishly
Sluggish with startled pride and vain
Groan'ng brightly and questionably
While hot days dance, sadly, in rain

And daylight sleeps among songbirds
In darker shades and brighter lights
R'flections dance across still waters
Drift'ng away in the summer nights
