The world awaits with bated breath
pause, listen and most all feel
there it is, a deep sense drumming
in the back ground coming to life.
we all feel it, indeed yearn for it
insistently wait for it to come
then all of a sudden we can feel
the gradual warmth winter is defeated.
He shies away taking with him the freeze
allowing SPRING her rite of passage
everything comes back into blossom
almost battling each other for its space
All around we see new tender leaves
feel her warmth stirring things to life
watching birds fly to and thro building
busily their nests for new hatchlings
Riotous notes peel out thrilling us
as delightfully they fill the skies.
Snow drops fading as crocus fill
beds with startling shades of colour.
At last we can peel of the extra layers
wear our pretty clothes never can we
match Spring's awesome display of style
Indeed she gayly leads us towards Summer
A simple word that can chase me hard
To ruin my dreams and paving the end
To shatter my hopes of my uncertain future
It's nothing more than a sinking boat
All I had was my brittle goals
Dusty winds that pick out my roots
World a wonder bait to peel out my passion
To leave me helpless all my way
I am not more than a feeble prey
In the world of hungry hopes
To change my withering leaves
To healthy life that can withstand the tide
Thought I'd write a poem
about a place that I like to shop,
it's a grocery store
where you can save a lot,
its got everything you need,
from soup to nuts,
fresh breads of every sort,
frozen meats to fresh produce,
and the dairy departments,
even got soy and almond milk,
and all of their canned goods,
range from diced tomatoes
to different fruits,
they even have different cereals,
and trail mix and protein bars,
mostly made by Millville,
an off-brand that rates about 3 1/2 stars,
now its not a fancy Wal-mart
or Publix by any means,
but if you shop at any Aldi's,
you will save a lot of green,
just remember to bring a quarter,
which goes in the grocery cart slot,
and when your done shopping,
you park the cart and get
your quarter back,
and with your stash of bags
of healthy and not so healthy foods,
try not to peel out of the parking lot,
like some hungry fool!
As snows gently coat the land
Breezes softly brush it into peaks.
Candles glitter and flutter in windows
Deep shadows flicker in their light.
Enchanting dazzling gems sparkling
Frosty branches dress the clearing
Garnishing the white landscape
Hark! hear the sleigh bells tinkering
It's Santa delivering the presents
Jolly Ho-Ho's ring out as he passes
Kicking the reindeer speed onwards
Leaving a sparkling trail behind them
Maples trees majestically line the path
Nightingale's sweet tones ring out
Over the snowy valley echoing
Partridges plump and fat basting
Quail are turning on the spit
Roast potatoes crisp and golden brown
Simmering vegetables steaming
Toasted marshmallows all gooey
Utterly delicious as they melt on tongue
Victoriously the bells peel out
With great Joy announcing the birth
Xylophones cheerfully join in
Yearning hearts beating in tandem
Zeal fully they meet and mingle
in the near distance he heard the truck peel out and make its way down the same
street that he had just sprinted down---
the headlights zoomed past him,
and with that it was all over.
he waited a while,
possibly even ten minutes,
and then slowly getting up, he walked in the direction of where he actually lived---
when he got inside his apartment he went straight to the sink in his bathroom.
the sink,
which had been as scummy as a single man’s usually is, when all they do is study,
had been cleaned earlier that day in what one can only call a
spontaneous moment of self-appreciation.
it was white & sparkly,
and the man threw his hands down on the sink,
crouched over, trying to catch his breath &
coughed out a huge splat of blood all over the white sink---
knowing that what had happened to him on the outside had
screwed up his insides
(as revealed by the coughing of a large quantity of blood),
he followed this with calling the
police.
the police came,
did their police thing...
“who, what, where, when,” but with no why,
and then called the ambulance.
off to the emergency room,
he went.
