You can, if you wish,
watch your thoughts change
into small dinosaur-birds
feathers returning to armored scales;
see the terrible teeth native to the sparrow's beak.
Tucked into small bundles of feathers
a thought reveals thunder lizards struggling for dominion
of the earth once more.
To send a thought out to think for itself
is a kind of archeology, a paleontology
of the present.
Brains see nothing of what is to come,
they recreate what was and make us see
what is hidden in the now.
The brain-fields are still being harvested
by dinosaurs
it's just that the unwary brain feels no pain,
if it did it would scream in its bone cave.
Let a thought fly high enough
then an antediluvian sky will envelope it,
morph it into a mythical creature,
it may return to you
as a dragon seeking your brain
to nest in.
We are a field of seeds
for ripening ancient thoughts,
and the elder world harvests them.
An ancient past hunts us,
it hides itself in the chipmunks trembling heart,
as it digs under the house
for the remains of its existence.
Playing Trivia Pursuit verifies I learn little
About things that don't concern people, animals, or us,
Biology, and zoology, I never fiddle.
And subjects like paleontology I do not fuss,
Median, means and mode in math to me means middle,
Historical data I could never try to rush,
Spanish to me is an impossible mysterious riddle,
When I think of all this knowledge, I marvel and I cuss
That I can successfully cook an omelet in a griddle,
Since I was stuck with my idiotic sad little brain trust.
A pea in a blanket. help assistance is required for the gnome was drawing near to the fire but was blocked by a rat who has morphed into a bee. Worker bee. Good. Fantastic. IN ALLUSION TO QUESTIONS ON SCIENCE AND RELIGION
Continuous documents of life lived and gone
Lay buried beneath Earth’s various layers:
More precious than gold is petrified bone;
Save the questioning of the Creation Sayers.
Cannot dead evidence give life to truth?
Is there reason that Noah’s Arch must be fantasy?
Should we question the lesson of Ruth?
What religion teaches, science gives it creative reality.
Faith is nourished on belief in both seen and unseen;
Science, on empirical evidence of what was and now is:
Both relying on what is revealed of the beginning scene—
What daunting challenge to our pillars of intellectual tiers?
Is not the revelations unearthed by the faithful pursuit of paleontology
The resurrected evidence of that which has given rise to our religiosity?
I love it when she does her laundry in a very scientific way,
intrigued when she haikus about dinosaurs and paleontology;
but when she bitches not getting noticed for her political stuff,
I shake my head 'Suzie, of politics people have had enough'!
