Terra Incognita

Diurnal moments margin in my head,
As metamorphosis pirouettes hands,
Nightmarish recall exit none be said,
An armistice mosey in of spilt sands.

Logjam beliefs wane gains, prosperity,
Erring hand fingered an island nation,
Right foresees windfall, voters clarity,
Left wins Red China, lost the election.

Past oversights also recent letdowns,
Amiss twentieth, twenty-first embed,
Ruse an angle nefarious look rounds,
Dame be a torpedo full speed ahead!

It is a jigsaw board, a puzzling face,
An instance period to bygone years,
A world in awe as one alters a pace,
A nation benign oddity brew peers.

Oversights

It must be tough to edit,
Searching calmly for mistakes,
Whether spelling or grammatical,
That every author makes.

Still, it bothers me when reading
And some errors have slipped by,
Causing me to wonder, how much
Did this edit-person try?

First an idiom I noticed –
“Chock it up” instead of “chalk.”
Just to clarify, I Googled;
I was justified to balk.

Next, a character is asked,
At someone’s house, to shed his shoes.
Yet, upon a piano’s pedals,
Those same sneakers he does use.

You might think it’s nits I’m picking
But such errors hit a nerve
For the oversights of editors
We readers don’t deserve.

Premium Member'day One' of the Rest of Your Life

“Each new day is ‘Day One’ for the rest of your life!”
When you say it like that, does your future seem dire?
Just how bad was it really (the fight with your wife)?
Tempers burn through the night! Is tomorrow on fire?

‘Day One’ sounds so hopeful, it feels like fresh start,
Tomorrow’s enigma, a cloud on horizon,
Could grow or just dissipate, future is art!
We're all wandless wizards and human; we wizen.

‘Day One’ says to my heart that forgiveness is mine,
Which authority thank then for making this real?
Who's the source of this spark? Does your cleverness shine?
Can it ever be yours, mon amour, if you steal?

‘Day One’ simplifies life (for all records burn,)
All oversights vanish with debts others owe us
(Most gifts that we welcome we give in return),
All people who live there now thrive on forgiveness.

‘Day One’ is a seed that mocks ‘Paradise Lost,’
That everyone plants to serve Love in their garden
In loving yourself, you serve life at no cost!
I nurture forgiveness for Grace is my pardon!

Premium MemberLife Has Lessons

Warm apricot jam is this life.
Jam melted running into corners is
where lessons are learned; a
little hard or real hard ones in succession.

Ideas, ideals that we dream of
become those valuable hard lessons.
In time we see they are which
produce character, these are a must.

Mistakes, oversights, wrongs must be
lived over and lived over and lived
again until we learn the lessons to
life, which will forever be
ingrained into our being, then understood

End line: A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson

A Finish

A bright clear light of the rising sun
Reveals the dark corners are now clean
The Apricot Jam has changed into clear light
All the lessons are melded into one fine character

PHRASIS STREAMS part 5
Inwardly afraid,perfunctory &peripheral
the how&what of our choosing,these
whispered sounds of tender lasting
moments,ever seeking a rationale.
Waiting&wondering to pursue that
inner voice or proven better way.
Such a blinkered view so innocently
implored,innate but creative,these sounds
of words around a theme of venial
mistakes and oversights which knows
no bounds. Now to reason out & uncipher
or turnabout and startover.A chrysalis
changed & completely new, ready for the
fray,never to succumb.Uppermost in
the heart,a life of a different hue each
day a new surprise,soothing selfless&
sincere a challenge ,too sublime.

Destiny

Dangling; from the ledge of impervious fate
Blindfolded; step beyond the intangible gate
Blunders; veer around deceptive curves
Pull up those bootstraps; then tighten those spurs
Rely on the inevitable; oh, fools beware
Oversights and cover ups; but who will care
You thought you'd taken all your hits
Indiscretion; missed purpose just by an inch
And the cliffhanger still awaits
