'day One' of the Rest of Your Life

“Each new day is ‘Day One’ for the rest of your life!” When you say it like that, does your future seem dire? Just how bad was it really (the fight with your wife)? Tempers burn through the night! Is tomorrow on fire? ‘Day One’ sounds so hopeful, it feels like fresh start, Tomorrow’s enigma, a cloud on horizon, Could grow or just dissipate, future is art! We're all wandless wizards and human; we wizen. ‘Day One’ says to my heart that forgiveness is mine, Which authority thank then for making this real? Who's the source of this spark? Does your cleverness shine? Can it ever be yours, mon amour, if you steal? ‘Day One’ simplifies life (for all records burn,) All oversights vanish with debts others owe us (Most gifts that we welcome we give in return), All people who live there now thrive on forgiveness. ‘Day One’ is a seed that mocks ‘Paradise Lost,’ That everyone plants to serve Love in their garden In loving yourself, you serve life at no cost! I nurture forgiveness for Grace is my pardon! Long Tooth July 19, 2017
