The distant cold hum
of a refrigerated embryology.
Morning eggs arrayed
in their cartons,
domed power-plants
in laboratory-white.
I crack a shell open,
by cautious habit
check for any telltale spindrift of red,
a sign of incipient life
or the Sunnyside-up face of death.

OVA Di Lait I Dance In the Dark
Open parade skies blue where R you;
Father love only hurts when it's not honest;
Come closer B in the truth;
Promenade
Dance under the clouds
Over the light
Darkness flees
As I shine bright as nova;
Each step I take closer and closer
Hallelujah
OVA Di Lait I Dance In the Dark
Each step I take closer and closer
Hallelujah

The sad problem was Hannah's ova.
Once they form a baby tears over:
Goal which had made her man rover
Around good clinics now hover...
Placed on Tiger nut and Guava
Locked semen is opened Louvre
Then, Doctor traced cause to Hannah,
Soon after return from Ghana
And it was a blow: Hammer,
From husband a lifted comma.
So, the drugs should not Fred cover,
Rather married Hannah lover,
No need by drug stores pull over,
Picked drugs mere help to stores turn-over.
But then the truth: both are childless
Fred to not say: "I'll bother less".
Ovarian challenge not over,
Caring Husband not in clover.

There’s no way one’s devoted lover
Won’t one’s weaknesses and faults cover;
Tell big fools that one is in clover:
Who nears not maps Driver of Rover
From Tunis to far-away Dover
And would in helicopters hover,
All to The Glory of Jehovah!
There’s some chance your devoted lover
Could suddenly say “it’s over”
If you’d fertilized an Eve’s Ova
Or stolen a blind beggar’s guava;
The last: A sure subject of scandal;
Fears that, soon, you’d snatch a kid’s sandal.

March 18 is the day he told me it was ova. I ask why, but all he said was that he
was ready to move on. I cried for the first two weeks, and it was a very sad time
for me, but I got ova it and I feel great.
Now I look at it another way. Not thinking about the bad times, just the good. I
noticed that it makes me smile and that’s what I need. From the times we
laughed all night on the phone, them days you came to see me and I loved being
in your arms.
Now we’re both moved on, and I’ll always love you. I wish we talked more, but
hey these things happen.
I don’t cry no more, my tears are all dried up. Now I smile at all the times we
shared. And I’m glad I had you.
