Onassis Poems | Examples

Premium Member chic and sophistocated

kissable lips
Audrey Hepburn worthy
Sunglasses remind me of Jackie Onassis
She lifts them
as I suspected, she is straight out of the sixties
chic and sophisticated in all ways

Premium Member Decade - Ence

Back in the fifties
America seemed much calmer
McCarthy's commie blacklists
Sputnik's shocking launch
Ike's wife Mamie so sedate
That pre-historic hairdo

World War Two over
We needed some time to heal
Alan Ginsburg penned his 'Howl'
Chuck Berry goosed his walk
The West Wing conservative
White House picket-fence painted

Boom! an explosion
Cultural revolution
Sixties' deaths brought us down
Hendrix, Morrison
Jackie became Onassis
Where's JFK's Camelot

Seventies came, went
Eighties crashed, burned, flamed out too
But Jerry Rubin's Wall Street
Greed ruled the Nineties
Internet changed all of us
The world at a click-click-click

New Millenium
Rapid change hurtles forward
People do change, however
Shootings dot landscape
Retreat into our smartphones
Loneliness Unconnected

Now the Age of Trump
Rears its flame-orange mane and screams
Me-too Movement gains traction
Women come forward
Teen suicide rate rises
Society imperiled

Premium Member Camelot's Chassis

Camelot produced two tots
Caroline, and John Junior...
How their mother cried when their father died!
Instead of rebuilding a productive chassis
~ She went gold-digging and married Onassis

Princess Charlotte of Monaco

She is born not of British Royalty
but that of Movie Star, Grace Kelly
Gucci Equestrian rider and her
friends Athena Onassis, Jennifer Gates
Charlotte, far prettier than her grandmother

Beauty Is Jewel For Women

Beauty is jewel for women gorgeous Gem,

Some women are jewels,

Some women are Gems,

Some women are both Gems and Jewels,

Some women are no Gems no Jewels,

The rich buy the Gems,

The rich buy the Jewels,

Some times buy Gems and Jewels the rich,

Onassis acquired a jewel Jacqueline name,

Charles acquired the Gem Diana fame,

The rich buy the Gems, the rich buy the Jewels in bulk in the marriage market,

Why not all the women be Gems and Jewels as the market is rich?

What to acquire the poor, how to acquire it then?

No Gems and no Jewels reserved only to serve the poor,

To shine in life like Gems in the center of Jewels, unlike the rich!

Not Considering the Cost of Vanity

I haven't inherited great wealth, and the only luxury I can afford is to make believe,
acting like a guru who does't tighten his belt...when will this character leave?

The Greek guru, Onassis, had a yacht and a private jet...
he enjoyed his grand lifestyle by traveling everywhere:
a hundred dollars bill meant less than a dollar to him;
I squandered quite a few of them for a foolish whim,
but the only difference between me and him is that he never
was short of a dime by discovering a hole in his pocket!

I rented a penthouse where the rich and famous live
to impress everyone and make friends...sadly the only friend left is Dave
the one I confide to, but the others won't socialize
with someone who was a fake, the one who built his wealth on incredible lies!

Don't pretend to be who you aren't, confront reality...
not everyone is born rich by turning wishes into money;
don't change yourself and lose every friend who considered you extremely rich...
did I ponder the cost of vanity that made me more miserable than a wretch?

Jfk

Not so easily
trapped am I as
I thought.

But I fought
for straightness
and White picked
Fences.

Until holy
Matrimony you
Came and I Fell
For it.

But let's
undo these knots
Now. And Like
Jackie Onassis
I am Marilyn

And you are
Not safe.

Let's Live Worry-Free and Enjoy Ourselves

When stress and want are overwhelmingly unbearable,
survive by learning the simple steps to happiness...
why be another Onassis or Rockfeller and be burdened with anxiety?
I could have been a rich guy, having studied their money trade,
but would it have made me as happy as they must have been?
Wealth fulfills our many wants, not our special needs...
having more possesions doesn't make us any smarter or happier:
life's philosophy should be, " Let's live worry-free and enjoy ourselves! "
