When I go out, people smile with their stretched jaws
But the moment I turn, they mock at me for no cause.
On my achievements, my fellow-men shower applauses in tons.
But in my absence, utter sarcastically with their forked tongues.
At times, my neighbors shower unwanted sympathy.
Secretly they reason my actions differently.
They seek my help and send requests with a pleasing heart.
Behind the curtain, they congratulate themselves for being smart.
The vendors fill my basket with one or two spoilt fruit
Cheat and swagger how cleverly they can loot
I believe that they are really praising my nobility.
For not greasing their palms, with me they develop hostility.
They say ‘correct’ when I raise my voice against misappropriations
Off the record, warn me for poking my nose in those conversations.
I pray the Lord...Let’s be blessed
With right impressions, right thoughts and right deeds which mark us the best.

Hello Mr can you read me?
You think you can nab me
Shall we talk off the record?
You have found out my pattern
Buddy,I was too careless once
Fella you have a habit of hiding
You are watching my every step
You will go to any length...
Note.Don't breed your creed.
The new girl is maniacal they told me.
They were bobbing their heads in agreement.
She has fuchsia hair. She acts weird.
She is off-the-record-books-crazy.
Something is definitely different about her.
I began to run.
She is super sensitive. We didn’t do anything.
She is sobbing like a banshee, and …..
No one understands why.
Her eyes are pink. She looks like a vampire.
I encountered her in the dining hall.
Plunked down next to her. I was new too, I tell her.
I reach out and touch her hand.
They are nut buckets, I say. Pay them no attention.
Tell me your story I say.
She begins to sob.
She does not know me.
For all she knows I am just like them.
I sit patting her back for a long time,
neither of us speaking,
both understanding the meanness of this place.
Now this is off the record.
Most stupid statement you could ever make.
Shut your mouth and keep your words inside.
Leave me a loan, so I can go on spending time endlessly paying for consequences.
Hand me the shrapnel from your pockets, then like a bullet, I’ll whistle passed you, and shoot to the moon while you eye up my shiny change.
Sing me your song, and I’ll turn your notes into a heavenly hit, with a score that’s off the record.
Leave me alone, or you’re gonna pay.
I exist in this white loo.
Can I be sure about you?
Let me catch your wink
Here at the tin sink.
Ignore the television crew.

Dirty leprechauns-n-promiscuous shepherds, prestigious statues of golden
leopards, emerald tongues used as weapons, false pride, no philanthropy
accepted, the most precious reddest of rubies selected, my hearts surrounded
by floating fire balls 2 keep it protected, thru the devil’s schemes my blood
streams infected, true wisdom neglected, diverted direction collected, murders
committed off the record, is love 2 be expected or dissected-n-digested, the
value of money supersedes the value of life is what’s being projected, I’m
viewed through the eyes of this world’s perception, money changes lives
through magnificent methods, dirty leprechauns-n-promiscuous shepherds,
statues of golden leopards, emerald tongues used as weapons, I repeat God’s
whispers to my listeners through scriptures, I pray 4 mankind 2 be corrected
and our mind frames and actions 2 be perfected and our souls 2 the highest
levels of Heaven 2 be accepted and 4 the root 2 all evil stop being treasured,
the love of money.
My soul’s being measured

You’re welcome
Day one passes into ten and twelve and eight-
Teen years spent by the neon glow of
Alarm clock stifled, the heavy hand, a fist
Trying to wake the awakened
But the sleepless cut the tongue, the wires
The life support system down in a blaze
Do not try to wake me when I have not slept
Scribbled down a diary entry on the back of
A calling card, a cigarette box, a prescription
Weighted down by a cup of thick black coffee
And the stale remnants of a Bloody Mary
The tick that follows tock which drives me to despair
Sat beside in thoughtlessness as I contemplate myself
The world and everything, nothing lies forgotten
Off the record, under the carpet, when you are an insomniac
You cannot sleep on anything and nothing lies dead
It just rebirths itself as you watch the minute tick
At the rate of a slothful hour, ticking and tocking
And checking the boxes, confirming, yes I have gone insane.
