Nihil Poems

Premium MemberMuch Ado, a Nihil Brew

In the war of words, tongues wag,
Wit and jest, lies and insults, haggle for traction,
joining the ragtag rabble of riffraff chaff
blowing in the wind, littering the ground with trash.
Rumors spun, deceptions woven into a shroud of deceit.
There's so much ado, no adieu, nor regret
in the cauldron of a nihil brew
boiled to an amorphous spew
bubbling chaotic nonsense
to ears deaf dumb and numb
turned to mute,
with noise dampener
set to distraction.
Tres, duo, unus, Nihil!

Sweetness of Origin

Earthen songs! from handsome angel throngs, opsoletus
Intervals and spells of the scope of temporal rondure,
A surging of the populus in singulari confluentia
So the book does diagram guthan, guð, and god,
Khute gaia, of poured earth, where legend sleeps
The burial dunes of Zeus, Aether, Erebus, and Chaos
Seasons advance with a tempering of wind’s instruments,
Sweltering bloom to hyperborean calm of frozen seed
Daughters and sons! from cildhama, fruit of the womb
Roaming deeds, of sin and samaritan, per omne spatium
Space of continental breadth or old borough border rings
Century to century in continuo, each end to seamless end
non vigilemus et dormimus in aeternum, of briefest history,
We do not speak of ages dissolved in lights of admiration
Stygian time cannot lie, and there will be other Dark Ages
We now originate and architect machines from the earth
Greater eyes and senses than what natura dedit nobis
What have we committed that we can conceivably survive?
nihil est quod in dulcedinem originis non evanescatin,
There is nothing that does not fade into the sweetness of its origin.

Amore Nihil Mollius, Nihil Violentius

This will be the fortuitous night
When her restless spirit fully takes flight
In all four winds that fail to slow
Under the waning reflective moonlight.

They met under the delight of Luna’s soft glow
Swimming bare in warm waters amid a lovely meadow
In a déjà vu frolic touched only by heart’s desire
Somewhere behind the blind and beyond the unknown below

The dying embers of life within her prior
On the days with the loudest silence stood by her
Echoing in yesterday, no longer sleeping in the nowhere void
For her shadow now glows in his path’s fire

Tempted by winter’s falling breath enjoyed
Chilling her delicate skin, the intimate waiting thus destroyed
The whirling wind dies in a mid-dance farewell
An autumn flame becomes a lover’s grave to avoid

The fettered couple will soon be set free from their harrowed cell
A once-lost saga of starlight’s only voyaged hell
She has been swept away in death’s lingering dance
With a last glance in his direction, the end of her silenced knell

Matura Artis Magistra

My Kindness is the world's Goliath
used against me,
oh my Spirit
oh my Weakness
is nihil filled by
Light and Love.

My enemies are none --
for they are already
taken from my path.

Those fallen whom I dearly love.

Nature; the teacher of all Art!

Takes it's time to shine bright.
Shedding tears to make a smile;
how i thought of you especially
when i was not sure but there's
no doubt you're within my heart now.

How love wishes to speed up time
but take it slow and you and i
write stories of sadness and pain
but through Life we can make it.

This World

This world only exists

            if a living eye

             describes it...

           a bold mouth

              bites it..

           Anxious feet walking,

          a poetic soul

               dream it....

           If not...
             NIHIL !

Nihil Obstat

What is this wave of floating currents,
Which enter the dark side streets
Like far-reaching rubbery tentacles?
It is your resigned reach for something
Infinitely beyond the staid and the shrill;
Your grasping of one moment in flexing time,
Your attempt to save a universe out of whack,
By donning your costume made of plastic fire,
With flashing sun medals signifying eminence.
What is this jaundiced atmosphere I inwardly sense
Within skinned temples made of bitter cortex,
Here in the bulrushes, wearing a feathered cap?
It is the silent pulse of a forest lacking an audible voice,
A meadow with green eyes that scratch the skies,
Looking to erode for all-time the blindness of hate.

In Old California 8

Then father broke her thinking with rebuff.

"Shhh! You're talking to yourself. Everybody's
looking. They can hear. You're not saying Mass.
Be more respectful!"

And she complied, not wanting twice recuff.
‘Twas so, all gave her disapproval view.
Now she heard priest, not wanting make remuff.
Words came from missal people so well knew.

"In principio erat Verbum, et Verbum erat
apud Deum, et Deus erat Verbum. Hoc erat
in principio apud Deum. Omnia per ipsum
facta sunt; et sine ipso factum est
nihil, quod factum est: in ipso vita erat,
et vita erat lux hominum: et lux in
tenebris lucet, et tenebrae eam non
comprehenderunt."

Ergo Sum

Sum

the nihil
beyond cognition

the mirror
of every atom

the daylight star
behind the black night sky

nothing escapes
no hand may reach
no eye ever notice
no mind would comprehend

not to be found
by those who seek

heard will be those
who do not speak

only the deaf
will smell a sound

not of this world
the unheard
the unseen
the never sensed
the never been

meaningless
irrelevant
inexistent

some deny
some believe

ergo sum
