On a Pencil Eraser

I hold this eraser in my hand
with a whale on it
smiling above the two lines that mark the waves
and the name of the brand
to erase and be erased
is written beneath the beady eyed whale.
A line to make it smile
two to make its universe
no colours have these waves
and the whale smiles for not being blue.
Its tail has already dissolved
along with the last letter of the brand name
in the words of lead
written in thoughtlessness
by 'wanton children'.
To undo a child's folly
must this smile be gone?
These waves and a big name all?
For Man who erred in words
and dissolved my whale's innocent little world
in words?

Autumns Death

Leaves turning brown, falling to their death
Severed from limbs like cast away children
Whispering winds comfort their descent
Peaceful words of becoming one with the earth.

Severed from limbs like cast away children
Listen to the sounds as you gracefully fall
Peaceful words of becoming one with the earth
Slowly fade back into mother nature.

Listen to the sounds as you gracefully fall
Float into the shallow ribbons of green
Slowly fade back into mother nature
Nourish the roots with life in your death

Float into the shallow ribbons of green
Gracefully you drift to your resting place
Nourish the roots with life in your death
Feed the hungry buds that come forth in spring.

Gracefully you drift to your resting place
Melting, melting, you slowly turn to crumbs
Feed the hungry buds that come forth in spring
Leaves turning brown falling to their death.

Oh, how sad, oh how very glum,
Goodness gracious me prater comes.
Still writing winsome words of woe,
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

Oh Lord, let not our life pass by
Let us do more than weep and cry.
Wallowing in morbid abode.
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

Whiling away the endless hours;
Scribbling sigils, claws cower.
Envy those not caught in limbo
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

Envy the prattle on the page.
At least the words are given stage.
Fields upon fields, rows upon row.
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

Feeling your life’s left no dower.
Enjoying the pain not power.
Pondering heaven on life’s gallows.
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

Goodness gracious me, prater comes,
And, all of it just, so, ho-hum.
Each word stroked, petted, tilled and hoed,
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

And, all of it just, so, ho-hum.
Leave the box, flee the asylum!
Writing, writing, writing on,
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

All this soulless, mindless, drivel.
Writing, writing, scratch and scribble;
Live above your massive ego
Endlessly stopped, never to go.

Take Wing

Young and innocent, I bow to you who are above me
Your heart is out of reach and so I just adore thee
I imagine and daydream of a summer when you hold me close
Protecting me from any harm that crashed upon out coast
But I just look on, my feet frozen below my lonely being
Eyes drawing me into an unending daze of awe and for-seeing
I am forever stuck in a spiral of unreturned adoration
I cannot move; I dream of admiration

A small fire it lies beneath my feet breaking me free from the ice
I take a step close as I part my lips for you to hear words so nice
The words I speak fill the meadow with my sweetest dream
You response is a soft voice, your lips like a strawberry cream
No longer do I have to cry or wait, no longer have felt the sting
I can feel you hold me close and part of me is released taking wing
Closing my eyes I relax into your soft body of warmth and protection
You let me move; I envy the admiration
