monochromatic clouds
stagnated within space
rush hour traffic abounds
vitreous tears coat cheeks
time halts to screeching stops
as you took your last breath

From silver-white to heavenly-black,
Trace her edges, her skin.
Stroke the boundaries of the heaven she contains within.
And if in every of your mark and lines within those proportion she'd flinch,
Free her soul from the oblivion or see if the inky darkness has no stars.
Draw the outline of her eyes,
Carefully erase each misshapen sadness,
Tone of contradiction or complexities; trust that she wants nothing from the empty hues of nostalgia.
Illustrate to capture the smile on her lips,
Shade all petty colors in white and black then let all distractions fall away.
Raw and bold allow her to see serenity on those crisp graphite truth.
In a messy piece of paper, soothe and fill her with your sweet passionate soul.
Silver-white to heavenly-black, what is it to be real?
Far greater and more loveable than one could ever imagine.

The uncomfortable chairs in the waiting room.
The doctor's silk tie that reflects the tubes of artificial lighting.
The endless vials of blood they draw from my baby's arm.
The area of her arm where the cancer chews hungrily beneath the skin leaving a trail of destruction.
The "PAST DUE" stamped on hospital bills.
Scrubs worn by nurses in the chemo department.
My lips after biting back sobs when her hair falls out in clumps.
My husband's hand when he releases mine for a minute because I'm squeezing too hard.
My eyes in the mirror after yet another sleepless night.
The world I live in is a crimson hell since my daughter was diagnosed with lymphoma.

I feel I am in this dream,
Where I experience bliss supreme.
An inner world that till today was unseen,
Things unfolding in an outlandishly beautiful scene.

She utters faint sounds,
I swear they're syllables,
But they sure aren't words.
Hidden behind veils,
Of succulent red flesh,
And rigid white bone.
Her "words" shatter glass,
But will never compensate,
For their lack of worth.
