Mojo Poems | Examples

Gumption

With a hitch in my get-along
which set me wrong
my get-up-and-go
is sadly misplaced
it done got up and went
cannot be traced
it's really too tragic
my mojo is spent
I need someone who
versed in voodoo
will weave their magic
do some hoodoo
come through with the juju
who'll hand me an amulet
give me a charm
which won't go amiss
so I draw no harm
with a little gris-gris
to take up the slack
and make sure my moxie
is right back on track

Has anyone seen my mojo

Has anyone seen my mojo? I know I had it here
But lately it has gone astray, no longer lurking near.

Maybe it’s on secondment to another more in need
to be asked would have been nice though, then we could have all agreed.

My ‘get up and go’ has scarpered,
it has done a midnight flit,
If you see it send it back before
I lose the will, and quit.

I know it’s round here somewhere,
maybe I can lure it out?
I need to wake my brain up,
need to holler, twist and shout!

My mojo is essential!
It’s what drives me to aspire
I need to get it back
before my brain starts to expire.

I know it’s not gone fully,
it’s just hiding in my fear,
So if I coax it gently
maybe it will reappear.

So summoning all my power
to locate the missing zing,
Digging deep within me
makes my mojo start to sing.

Moonlight Mojo

At the time of ethereal elegance of twilight,
Whenever a voluptuous moon
lolls low on a silvery serene sea
and gilds the canopy of trees,
the hilltops, the meandering streams
and the languorously reclining lakes.

My muse appears to me
from nowhere like a dream,
Like a flash of inspiration
to a muddled mind and
evokes moods of mystical ecstasy.

She glides gracefully towards me
like an elusive wreath of smoke
and gathers me in her embrace
like a silken robe
hovering around me
like a whiff of fragrance.

She appears as a stirring
source of fantasy and vision,
Like the magnificent Northern lights
displaying luminous draperies
on a star-spangled polar nights,
Like a spectacular rainbow burst
after an intense shower
Like a shooting star
Like a blessed apparition;

I take her, as one would,
a reluctant bride
with gentle persuasion
and resilient arms.

Premium MemberVigilent Mojo

I discovered the mystery
Of her painted runic stone
Immediately upon opening
The dainty envelope
She'd so thoughtfully sealed
With a Valentine sticker.
With comforting impact
It dropped unexpectedly
Into my conveniently located hand.
(Conveniently unexpected
And unexpectedly located,
With immediate and comforting impact.)
And in the moment of discovery,
I recalled the perfect sweetness
Of her Cheshire smile
As she stood self-confidently
On the sidewalk of the thoroughfare,
Like a danger girl who had captured
A spy boy's complete attention
With effortless persuasion.
That’s typical of her.
Does her mojo ever sleep?

President Biden's been working since dawn. It's obvious he's got his mojo on. It's been refreshing and rather stunning, to see how he's hit the ground running. Our breath of hope in a hurting land, America's superman.

Premium MemberWhere's My Mojo

I seem to have lost
the thing called MoJo
don't know why
or where it did go
now everything
is moving kind of slow
can't seem to do a thing
lots of grey, no more bling
no more wild, no more crazy
feeling old and really lazy
if you see it, in case it shows
please let me know
where my MoJo goes

The Mojo Within--Blues Poem 13

The Blues fills my memory,
all emptiness gone

Its Harp laying claim,
my soul to belong

Little Walter cries out
‘that same old somethin’ again

Jimmy Reed to remind us
—of the mojo within

My Mojo Light- Blues Poem 12

My days and nights
  death in between
  trouble in front—behind

The devil hijacking my
  fondest dream
  trouble in front—behind

She said she loved me
  then said it twice
  trouble in front—behind

The day I got fired
  she turned to ice
  trouble in front—behind

I pass out stoned
  and wake up hard
  trouble in front—behind

With time my warden
  and sentence scarred
  trouble in front—behind

My children’s names
  now others call
  trouble in front—behind

The doctor warns…
  “Not one more fall”
  trouble in front—behind

Excuses inked
  across my chest
  trouble in front—behind

The good got better
  but the worst got best
  trouble in front—behind

My eyes stay swollen
  my mojo light
  trouble in front—behind

The river rolling
  the falls in sight
  trouble in front—behind

My Mojo and Good Morning Joe

My Mojo and Good Morning Joe

When I woke up so did my mojo,
While watching Good Morning Joe,
I had realized,
Well organized;
He told me what I needed to know.

Moon Mojo

Ha, like a shy bride coyly blushing
the moon veils behind the earth's shadow
knowing not what this night is flaunting
before showing her amazing glow!
