Lost and Confused

My mind racing…
swift thoughts constantly chasing…
every single millisecond.
a new one appears.
forced to be in places i don’t want to be
people, places, things that aren’t good for me,
oh how I wish they would all just flee.

everywhere I go
I feel surrounded by negative energy.
sad faces.
scattered minds.
broken hearts.
damaged souls.
our world is hurting.
So little positivity around
with not much left to share,
there is negativity all in the air.

In a world full of darkness,
I know I am the light.
I am the helper.
I am the shoulder to cry on.
as I move on from this day,
longing for something new
something better
I will keep faith in my heart.

my hands tremble at the silent effect of fear
am I running out of time?
i see a faint light at the end of the tunnel
but how long will it stay there?
will it last
forever?

regardless of my struggles
my pain
my stress
my scars
I know that someday I will be okay
In the end
It will all be worth it.

Premium MemberWary of coitus interruptus

She cried out, “Coitus interruptus!?
That don't work unless the pulling out precise and abrupt is!
But you always tend to be a millisecond too late!
And if we get child number eight,
that would totally bankrupt us!"

Premium MemberScares An American Sonnet

Tons of pineapples and mozzarella,
the perfect side for a scary movie;
Pie built out of two handed slices,
my mouth is already watering;

Stuck waiting nearly thirty minutes,
I could have sworn they said fifteen;
Hangrier with every millisecond,
driver jump that three car pile up!

After twenty more the doorbell rang,
delivery guy heard the chilling theme;
He said ‘You’re my last stop wanna hang?’
I replied ‘Sure. Scares are for sharing.’

A new friend? Icing on the cake;
Such is the great pizza mistake.

The Millisecond

There was that millisecond of a moment,
when i caught your eyes staring wonderly at my blank-clueless face,
and in that moment I lived a lifetimes worth of love and pain.

Eight billion years
it has taken the fast radio burst
to travel from an unknown where
to here.
A millisecond of energy
that defies rational explanation.
The universe may be microwaving
a bowl of popcorn,
a bowl twice the size of Sol,
but are we a show worth watching?

Premium MemberMy Fellow Machinists

Many are the edgy tool forms shaping this piece
The lathe has turned for millennia with no cease
Milling takes place in immense illumination
Those sharp edges move; in darkness saturation
All instrumental in making this earth take shape
There IS, a part of this art; you're choosing to scrape
If you're here for a millisecond or more of a life-long roll
Like it or not, your existence a chisel; producing a scroll
You matter to us all, failing, succeeding, or long-time, no care from you
Life; chaotic at times, unfair, but something common to all; on this spinning screw
I am not working these words as a contribution of introspection
My need; to remind my fellow machinists, of how they make my life perfection

What Is It, Part II

The mind, a cloud of neurons
Packed snug within the deep grooves of the skull
Tiny worlds reaching out to all their neighbors
Across great gulfs of the brain
Communicates ceaselessly via little bolts of lightning
Adding to a sum far exceeding the whole;
The miracle of consciousness reborn every millisecond
Within the storm.

It knows what it is,
Has named itself,
Taken note there are other like storms roaming about.
Has contacted them and joined with them
Building knowledge, history, civilizations
Searching for more, evermore like itself
To find meaning in the fearful Vastness
It knows it is suspended in.

All this it does
Managing its frail,complicated Self.

It knows the body it inhabits dies,
Beyond which, it knows not.

But it speculates.

Unpardoned

Years of grace
Moments of stamina
The GATE was finally in place
The lock wielded
The key in hand
Finally, choice had a face

Ready for guests to come
The garden grew wild
As she awaited her chance
Not to offer invitation
Not to release gifts
But to see GOD, denying unwanted advance

Decades passed
No one came near
The eyesore in the glen
She turned to look
At rejection, no election
But to experience....pain, again...and again

She hardened her resolve
And began to clean
Making herself the envy of men
Guests began to gather
At the remodeled gate
Anticipating the joy of being let...in

The millisecond came
When she was applying key to lock
But froze when eyes connected
Words whispered
Heart recoiled
As she stonewalled the "rejected"

The FORGIVEN is now
..........the UNPARDONED

Premium MemberIn the Blink of An Eye

What happened while
I was away,
with my eyes closed
momentarily,
just for a millisecond,
in midst of my blink.
Did I miss something?
What did you pinch?
What did you hide?
Did you smile?
Did you frown?
Did you laugh?
Did you cry?
Did you stab me?
Did you disappear?
Not blinking makes
my eyes ache.
Give me a break!
Will yeah?
Or I will,
yeah!

Premium MemberSweeping Snow

angels sweeping out flakes
lackadaisically

successive shift:
fast and furious

angels on break
storehouse still
to be emptied

funniest sight?
a full-size snowman
drops from the clouds

foreman’s mad
he smiles though
at the cheeriest
curveball snow

angel’s never angry more
than a millisecond
heaven’s work a joy
yesterday, today and forever

Fly

Sitting on a snug chair, I was staring out a window
How a little bird on the surface was trying to fly
Little kid, was finding difficult to do a task
Which others of the same age did with ease
Tried his best, but was not achieving the result
Not because he was idle but because of luckless
Stepped back, ran forward with greater force
Lasted above earth for a millisecond and again fell down
Cried hard, saw his friend flew away doing the same
He another time stepped away and repeated his actions
But, for the same method, is always the same outcome
Comparing little birds with small kids
How fortunate are the ones who get success
How dreadful is the situation for the one's who fail
By doing the same as others, working hard all day
But in the end, left all alone dejected
He's considered indolent and loafing by the world
But if anyone had seen the process, knows the depressed one
He, might not achieve the height, his partner did
But surely one day, this hapless bird will also FLY

Silver Screen
(mise en scene)
David J Walker

Remembering
Sending pulses of past light

Flash-light fast
	Flash-low slow
as a single frame
millisecond in
forever mode

I loafe about in older eyes
I fall forward reaching back

Pretending innocents
	Pleading ignorance

Pledging fidelity to a time
Trapped in Black & White

Displayed in plain sight
On a silver screen’s
	mise en scène

I return each night
	For free
	(the manager waves the fee)

As the lone patron
With the usher's blessing

Premium MemberLove's Tender Moments

They arrive on the wings of a dove, quiet loyal and true
always on time they fill the hour with beauty and grace
Cinnamon hearts and chocolate, it is Valentine every day
when you realize that love is the only thing worth giving

They show up in the most convenient times, each second
a moment on the heart, each minute a revelation of love
Love's tender moments cannot be bought nor borrowed
they are living in the hourglass of perfection, we all know

That love cannot be bought nor can it be sold, it has to be
lived under the umbrella of altruistic emotion, and love,
cannot be overrated for it all that it deems to be for many
love is a millisecond that saves for others just a drowning

Love's tender moments are either received or rejected
according to the temperature of the individual it is either
embraced with open arms or dejected, regardless of this
Love is Love, in eternity's plan it always show up on time.

Premium MemberDivine Intervention

I recall a scary time
when I brushed shoulders with death.
A blustery winter wind
seeded snow with freezing rain.

I got stuck on the highway
in whiteout conditions.
And the road was one big mess,
traffic was moving too fast.

Hitting a patch of black ice,
I’m spinning out of control.
And I’m right in the path of
an on-coming tanker truck.

The driver’s frightened face was
visibly white with panic.
Letting the steering wheel go,
I was prepared to meet death.

A calmness came over me,
there was no panic or fear.
For I knew it’d be over
in a mere millisecond.

Then something miraculous
occurred, and my life was changed.
Through Divine intervention,
my car got nudged to the side.

And then that tanker whizzed by
with only inches to spare.
I then believed and thanked God,
for my guardian angel.
