Blazing blob rises with the scenic sun,
rolls radiant up over ocean’s water line,
dimly dark with night’s fading footprint,
sky on hued horizon turns to tapestry
paints pristine chromatic collage,
long leaves’ silhouette frames idyll image,
mesmeric morn brings a new charming day.

THE MESMERIC MOON
The silver disc of the luminous full moon ascends,
creeping silent on satin slope of the serene sky.
Enticing cadence of the dancing moonbeam
flows through the aura of argentine night.
Rhapsody rolls on waves of the sapphire sea
as they dance with floating flakes of the moon.
Celestial charisma descends with ethereal elan,
flooding me with the tide of the swelling emotion.
The euphoria of the moon strewn on ebullient sea
I hold in cup of still water in the palm of my hand.
Through the mystique shroud of stardust sheen
laced by silver tinsel the liquid lunar orb I see.
It morphs into a shimmering face rippling
in my dreaming eyes, I see your alluring smile
at the fringe of my heart, so near yet so far away,
glowing in beckoning beam of the mesmeric moon.

Mesmeric Moon
Welcome midnight sun
Clouds bow away to your shine
Magical mystical Moon
Lovers look and stare
As dreamers bathe in your light
Mesmeric Moon melting hearts.

So close but not personal
Straight ahead but diagonal
Perfectly rational yet paranormal
Minutely infinite yet strangely colossal.
Here’s to the distance, that’s within the reach
Celebrate the rule that inspires the breach
Sickening pleasures that poor the rich
Guess one time or another, we all got to scratch that itch.
Walking on water, floating on Earth, and sinking in the air
Too passionate to care, yet too righteous to be fair.
Here she comes, the hell on high heels
Pure adrenaline, and the hunter becomes the kill
I jump to conclusion for the rush of the thrill
The artisan of sin, she known how to heal.
(C) Obaidur Rahman. Published in the poet’s debut book of English poetry titled “The Mystic Inferno” in 2012.
