The end of another year of much uncertainty
As we sifted through mounds of propaganda,
Watching folks line up to espouse their ardency
The end of another year of much uncertainty,
Many vocalizing without a smidgeon of courtesy
Apparently, some did not get the memoranda,
The end of another year of much uncertainty
As we sifted through mounds of propaganda.

poetry saves
thoughts from obscurity
leads emotions
onto paper-thin canvas
of feelings impressed
with no purpose other
than being expressed
for what it is worth
a few scraps of pleasure
memoranda
passion
and urge to find its place
a ceasefire on the threshold
of truth and truce
a pearl of nothingness
or raw perception
epitaph or prologue
a circle of blindfolds
discarded revealed exposed
in slow motion
or rapturous flow
yet I cannot take credit
for what seeps from my mind
stories are written by life
in obvious or covert stride
with marching boots or flip flops
footsteps on the beach
clinging on to the cliff face
and sometimes naked feet barely hang on
threads of my story
I need to share
from the pressure cooker of the scribe
sometimes merely a flickering flame
but always honest and sentient
each day a poem or more
leave the nib and
the ink dries quickly
until the rain in my heart
smudges letters and words
only to be written
once again

To dogs the air’s not full of sounds, sweet airs *
But fragrant tales of others that relay
Their memoranda of canine affairs
On posts and trees - a proof they passed this way
Some choose destructive force and broken glass
Or bodies strewn across a battle field
To prove their names and memory shall not pass
They made their mark - historic record yield
While poets write their verse: dreams of the heart
Creating pristine worlds of joy and tears
To make a mark in time and then depart
Their songs remain to echo down the years
Deep impulse drives to blaze the parts we play
When curtain’s down, look! Once we passed this way

Many years have now gone by, so many wonders I have seen.
I need you my little princess, to be strong now for my queen.
I'm sorry I had to go, I'm sorry I couldn't stay.
My time here is now done, I must be on my way.
God has blessed my life, with many good years.
I've seen so many miracles, and shed many good tears.
You need to make me a promise, for grandpa please do keep.
Make sure that you are smiling, when I come and visit in your sleep.
I will never be gone, a part of you is now me.
I'll always live in your heart, just look in and you will see.
Our soul never dies, that's in God's memoranda.
I love you with pride, my dearest Miranda.

Time has a way
To simply say,
To find the way
To yesterday.
Space wears a face
In steady trace,
In touch of grace
Upon my face.
I come to meet
Echoes that greet,
Bitter yet sweet
Upon these streets.
Soul mellows fate
Here at these gates,
I am not late
To sparkle date.
Et cetera
Odd agenda,
Silk organza
Memoranda.
So many thoughts
That flood odd lot,
Here spill the dots
In charm's sweet spot.
Tell my story
In rhymes I see,
Buzz fantasy,
Plush sensory.

she said that yellow didn't suit
said she was leavin' me to boot
took all her shoes, of most the hues
'n' she left me nothin' but the blues
her lighter smiled hues of amethyst,
she left the blue but took the rest
that purplish-red jus' left my head
'n' she left me nothin' but the blues
her red soo hot, it fired my desire
she took that too, no more to eye her
ain't nothin to do - desire's taboo
she's left me nothin' but the blues
took her magenta in my absentia
I came to empty home to find she
crayoned me a goodbye memoranda
left colored in the goodbye blues
she said that emerald was her thing,
the thing was, she liked the green
took all our jack, 'n' left me slack
she left me nothin' but the blues
now she's gone like fifty shades
hued ghostly remembrance slowly fades
wishin' white was black won't get 'er back
I'm left with nothin' but the blues

hush, hush cicada,
hide your rain memoranda,
secret agenda!
shoo, grashopper green,
glide to verdant vales unseen,
let this young grass preen!
whiz by, dragonfly,
balmy afternoons, goodbye,
summer gone, winds high!
