Whirring Wings

hush, hush cicada,
             hide your rain memoranda,
                           secret agenda!


             shoo, grashopper green,
                           glide to verdant vales unseen,
                                         let this young grass preen!


                           whiz by, dragonfly,
                                         balmy afternoons, goodbye,
                                                     summer gone, winds high!
