Premium MemberMelvin Saw Hearts and Valentines

Shelly and Melvin had been high school sweethearts
She fell in love with a bad boy from the next town.
Melvin was crushed, and astounded that she was pregnant.
Their love had been innocent for well over two years.

After Melvin’s wife died, Shelly called him up and invited him to lunch.
He intended to be super cautious; she had been married four times.
Seeing her blue eyes, he remembered how much he once loved her.
He saw doves and valentines and began to pursue her in earnest.

Premium MemberMelvin Babysitter Owl

Melvin was enthralled with three sisters so fine
I will keep careful watch oas if they are mine.
The sisters were Marigold, Mercy and May.
They were readily watched by Melvin O’Shay.

He is a wise owl. I completely trust him.
Said the girls’ mother Mrs. McKim.
Entrusting her daughters to the care of the owl.
Who was an incredible babysitter, a marvelous fowl.

Uncle Melvin

I walk these halls
As gallows mock
With framed pastels blind

Where mother left behind
And father said "freak"
You're no son of mine

Alone among the Rockwells
Lined-up of someone else's
Many celebrated lives

I guess that's because
Mister Norman Bates
Really never learned how to paint

And if he had I'd be there
Hung up in the blackest black
For the whole damned world to see!

So now it's red or blue for breakfast
And mystery meat in between
But, all I have to say is...

Where the hell's the ecstasy?!

Melvin

When it came to your acting career, you were no slacker.
You starred as Sam the butcher and as Sergeant Hacker.
You guest starred on the Andy Griffith Show at least ten times.
On that show you mostly played characters who turned to crime.
It was extremely sad when your life ended.
You were a great actor and you certainly deserve to be commended.

(Dedicated to Allan Melvin who died January 17, 2008.)

Melvin and Jj

Melvin and JJ – you silly cats,
You always know how to make me laugh.
You run through the house like tornadoes with tails,
And tear up my furniture with your razor-sharp nails.

Melvin is the oldest, and like a big brother,
He takes care of JJ, like any good mother.
Washing, kissing and playing, but it never fails,
Melvin will let JJ know, “I am the alpha-male!”

JJ is the baby, quiet and sweet,
He loves to snuggle up under the sheets.
He nibbles my fingers when it’s time to get up,
And adores his Melvin with brotherly love.

These two cats are inseparable for sure,
Even when they sit outside my bathroom door.
I love Melvin’s “crazy eyes” and his “lovey eyes”,
And JJ’s soft little meow makes me sigh.

It is said that pets enrich our lives.
That is true of these two guys.
Because they are not just felines – you see,
They are a part of our family!
