Youth

Youth
When we were young, nothing worried us at all.
From spring through summer through winter and fall
We built forts from boxes some four feet high
We climbed trees like monkeys some went to the sky
We ate everything like mud cookies and chocolate swirls
Made fun of freckles on cute little girls
I was mean as a snake and happy you see
I didn't worry; big kids didn't bother me
I rode my bike for miles with my balloon muffler
Fell and chipped a tooth, but it made me tougher
One meal a day was plenty for me
A policeman, a fireman was what I would be
My brothers were taller my dad was too
They were giants, and I thought that was cool
As I grew older, more things began to shrink
As I grew older, I started to think
How nice being young and so carefree
Being that young then meant nothing to me
But now that I'm much older, I look back and see
I'm still young at heart a good ride for me

Premium Member The Cousin We Feared

She was the cousin we feared
There were no consequences
She stayed with the grown ups
No one sent her away

All the other aunts and my own mother
Did not send her away
She was our spy,
Gloating in the knowledge

That her own
Overly-aggressive mother
Dared not try,
For she was afraid

Of her thirteen-year-old
Daughter
Luckily, the rest of us
Grandchildren

Had a much better
time without either of them
It was not until after we were grown
We learned the truth

Shocked that Aunt Z,
The bossiest of the bosses
The oldest in a family of twelve children
The one who was the expert in everything else

Dared not send her
bossy, mean-as-a-snake
child out of the grown-up
area, for she did not want
her siblings to know
who was the boss of her

HOLLOW

Down in central Georgia, way back in the hollow
There's a certain path you don't want to follow
For if should choose to dare to go in
You may never come out again

That's where the Hardy clan make their abode
Somewhere down this winding road
It's been said that they shoot folks for sport
But never been arrested nor tried in court

Folks are afraid to even go near
Tales of the Hardy clan fill them with fear
Not less than twenty have been so bold
They all are still missing, or so it is told

Back in the hollow there's lots of unknown
Not just the Hardy clan chill to the bone
There's Rupert McEvers, who murdered his kin
Then took to the hollow unafraid to go in

The Hardy clan even steered clear of McEvers
He's mean as a snake and gives one the shivers
But if you feel like you can go in the Hollow
Don't expect me to be one to follow

'Cause either Rupert or the Hardy clan will know
The moment you made the decision to go
And you may think you're bold enough to go in
But never be seen or heard of again

Blinds Man Robbery..

Blind Mans Robbery..

Blind as a bat.
Mean as a snake.
Who feels like taking
This old mans place.

No respected I don’t get.
My cane does great, when I whip.
This old man has had enough.
If my cane does not work I will break out my gun.

I won’t go down with out a fight,
If they want money - just ask for it right.
I will write them a check, who carry’s cash at night?

Some people how they dumb can they be.
Trying to rob an old man that’s on social security.

My Sister the Poet

My sister the poet
Will let it be known
Of her past life and her so many homes
Of all her good memories and all of the bad
She is quite talented and has a lot to say
Her life with the devilish man who called himself her father made her that way
Mean as a snake when you make her mad
But the nicest person you’ll ever meet
A down right Christian, she is
And when you do something wrong she lets you know about it
Most parents tell their kids ‘Santa’s watching you’
But my sister instead says ‘Jesus is watching you’
At the moment she is writing a book of poems of all her childhood memories
From the very first to the very worst
Her subjects vary from her sister to her brother
From riding in a toy car to building an outhouse
But not all of it is funny
Some of it makes you really appreciate the life you’ve got
Wether it’s happy or sad
Or makes you angry and mad
It all flows together and it all tells a story of a life from hell that we are all glad
we didn’t have
To my sister the poet
I love you very much
And I wish I had your talent
I wish you the best of luck with your book
Keep up the good work
