A flash of shiny blue silk waddles into view of the bamboo stalks
a distinct crown and Egyptian painted eye; his beak is golden
Male peacock, shows his glorious feathers,
his symmetrical design gorgeously done
He courageously wanders onto a cliff of gray shale,
The moon is not any shinier than his magnificent feathers;
Other creatures are in awe, marveling at his unique costume
A feathery concoction that his wife does not dare wear,
Her muted browns help her keep their eggs in hiding.

I sat in my lawn chair this afternoon
Marveling that the sun changed my mood instantly
I felt joyful that I have time these days to do what I want
When I want
With whom I want
I am grateful for my family and my friends
Glad I have dogs who adore me; as I adore them
Today I realized the little things are the big things

Steady breeze of today
Flips up the edge of my notebook
Maple leaves are sparking with movement
I watch their merry dance
Marveling at their reds, browns and yellows
November is gorgeous

september slips in
as asters wave in the breeze . . .
farewell to summer
october’s crisp days
mountains’ gold and crimson blaze . . .
my marveling gaze
november’s wind wails
a lone leaf scuttles away . . .
the fall’s first snow flake

Alternately marveling
and weeping
at what’s occurred
in my country
An assassin’s bullet
now a bloodless coup
in a span of eight days
~ a convention too

the air conditioner soothing my heated skin
fire brick curtains with their red dyed orange
bumblebee rays peeking through gaps in between,
they have so much to say
so much to say to me
ghosts of muffled laughter snuggling my ears
crinkled edges of faded eyes and scratchy rugs beneath my feet
labored breaths running after a face resembling my own,
your lingering warmth has so much to say
so much to say to me
a hand in mine and a skip in my step
wandering, marveling at street vendors, the bustling market
lavender dreams blooming under our eyelids,
that quiet understanding has so much to say
so much to say to me
heaving shoulders in a dimly lit bathroom,
tear tracks melding into the glass of a splintered mirror
this lonely silence has howled its piece,
now I have nothing to say
nothing to say to me.

in the spring my river has an unusually active flow
tearing down her channel as if she is racing herself
I stand in the verdant grass with bare toes, watching
marveling at what delights might be hidden in her depths
it is now summer, the river has slowed to a standstill
a large catfish makes a super splash after jumping out of her
I love watching his fierce looking face, he is adorable
thank you for being here for me I tell my river
Oaks and maples turn red, orange and red
It is fall and there are a multitude of leaves on my river
they float uphill, showing me which way she flows
I wave goodbye to them, wondering where she takes them
My river is frozen in January, but probably not solid.
Some walk across to fish, but I stay on the shore, watching.
I know how treacherous and deep she can be.
I imagine the guppies and bass, wondering if they are safe.
I love my river, she is beautiful no matter the season
Whether she is solid or snaking a meandering path
She intrigues me and enthralls me, and I am glad to know her.
I sit on the river bank appreciating her personality.

And Then Remember Faith And Truth Brought About This
Marveling at the deep darkness of sunless days
Abject idleness of rivers that do not flow
O' lord bring us more of your true brightened ways
Give unto us again, your holy righteous glow
We pray Heaven is truth of our holy reward
As we in glory walk upon its golden streets
Walk ye in sincere faith, yes we know it is hard
But in Heaven's silver halls angels you will greet
Dawn will gift true love and a beautiful sunrise
Years of happiness and more than enough pure bliss
Give unto the Dark One a most shocking surprise
And then remember faith and truth brought about this
A stunning tomorrow full of laughter and love
With manna from Heaven and dear gifts from above.

unusual color of mushrooms
dainty delicate exquisite violets
I walk through the forest
marveling at God’s handiwork
there is a flash of wings
a raven or hawk
gone, never forgotten

In a world that questions what is normal, where conformity seems to guide the way, do we strive to fit in and forget our spirit, or do we embrace our unique display?
For what is normal but a mold to conform to, a shape, a pattern we must replicate? But what’s normal for them may not be for you, each of us is uniquely fashioned, no duplicate.
In God’s design, we’re crafted with precision, with colors, gifts, and talents all our own, no two souls alike, each one a rare edition, a masterpiece in flesh and spirit, brightly shone.
So let us break the chains that try to bind us, and celebrate our wonderful diversity, for it is in our differences, we find true beauty, and in embracing them, we set ourselves free.
So do not long to be what others strive for, embrace the whisper of your soul within, for there’s no greater joy than being authentic, living true to who you are, unbound, unchained.
So let us stand together, hands intertwined, in awe of God’s creation, marveling at the view, for what is normal is a question in all time, and it’s up to us to redefine, renew.

Wings spread wide,
Birds soar through the sky,
Graceful creatures of flight,
Bringing joy to all who watch,
Aerial ballet.
Chirps and tweets,
Melodies fill the air,
Nature's symphony plays on,
Lifting spirits with each note,
Birdsongs in spring.
Colorful plumes,
A vibrant display,
Beauty in every feather,
Marveling at their splendor,
The joy of birds.

Perfect
in words and acts
love
has no regrets
its energy
unrestrained
by longings
of the past
droplets
love united
through rocks
cut a path
where
where there was
a desert
colorful fountain
blast
a river of serenity
washing away
debris
blooming color
songs
harvest summer
fest
not fearful
of the future
not burdened
by the past
morsels of time
it savors
with marveling
content
work becomes play
jumping
in the unknown
water joyfully falling
on rocks and grass
a song
sparkling light of eyes
to weep and soon to smile
from tears to joy of play
rain to sun again
music of heart is love
dancing to its beat
like droplets or seeds
that die
to change and live again.

God arrives at break of day in form of a heavenly spaceship
His light rays splaying across the horizon in a gentle way
I watch from my jungle tree house, marveling at His reach
knowing He is simultaneously on the other side of the world
my children are going to sleep in the north as I am awaking.
I know He is with them as much or maybe more than with me
I marvel at His all-encompassing Godliness, feeling beloved.
hear myself sigh with gratitude as I watch him show His hand.

Harry knew that Maribelle was his soul partner.
He felt it from early childhood; had dreamed of it.
They were confidants, best friends, throughout their lives.
Maribelle was popular, she had lots of boyfriends.
Harry was patient. He waited, not rushing her, keeping quiet.
At the age of thirty-one, Maribelle realized they were a perfect match
You were so understanding and patient with me, she told him.
Marveling that her soul mate, Harry had been next door all her life.

With all-knowing third eye the white tiger king floated to Arkansas
In his sculpted golden Venetian gondola, in that majestic way he had.
Regular Italian tigers hid behind birches, quietly but respectfully in awe.
Many were intimidated as they watched him float by, others glad.
They had not had a tiger king for many centuries, so this was new.
The lagoon’s waters were warm, caused by a natural spring.
Mimicking birds took time to fan off the king with feathers of blue.
Peasants and minions stood at attention, marveling at the tiger king.
