over and over again
playing clips
sound bites
out of context
heavily edited souls they are/
They promote hate and fear
They are Deacons of division
they love a riot but denounce riot gear
thrive on division of the races
getting filthy rich, steel-trapping our peace
wearing the fur of our misery/
placing poison flower clowns in our hearts
rabid hummingbirds in our minds
toss fiery darts in the last stand of bliss
of our songbird time/
never a good word about anything/
They're but flicking tongues of the devil,
sucking hearts from bloated chests
sliding under desks
for a suckle and a piss

darkness
truth and knowledge
heavily edited/
Memory-the artisan
pasting collage to the mind
a slideshow of
highlights
lowlights
blistered frames with no lights...
lives in speed-of-light review.
A foxtrot of realist- impressionist
the mad-mad artisan
kneading frantic distortions
horrors
marbled
with
slivers of bliss
funhouse deceptions
a lavender and piss checkered mix.
Good memories are nothing but escape
on a leaky life raft
bad memories are dorsal fins stripping
the last fleck of light from waves of black.
Nothing really matters but the moment
that cold kelp tide that grips the chest
until it's hammered back into a relief of memory.
I can have short hair
Or I can have long.
I can color it or perm it
Nothing is wrong.
I comb it and brush it
It is soft as silk.
Sometimes I even
Wash it in milk.
I blow it dry
And curl it with heat.
To go to the hairdresser
Is such a treat.
Blonde or brown
Red or black.
My hair is thick
Flowing down my back.
Highlights and lowlights
Purple or blue.
What should I try
What will I do?
life is a few highlights
a few lowlights
but mostly dim lights
then finally-no lights

I have been a changeling all my life
Seeing myself through a monster’s eyes
Staring at my hazel orbs, wondering each year
Why I do not look like my twelve-year-old self
My magnificence hidden from
the others
Blonde
Brunette
Redhead
Highlights
Lowlights
No lights
Long
Short
Shorter
Shortest
Smaller every minute
My magnificence safely squirreled away
Crowds, laughter, passer, loner
Lost in a shade, abandoned in howler
The cage of intensity
Bribing all the tendencies
Talk to the wind blows
The dimension of silent shows
Glimmers are everywhere
But the existence stands to nowhere
Today is like the other day
Sleep upon a time and disclosed by the other way
Dream leads you to the dreams
Drugging you to the other schemes
If only it's not a dim
Like the empty frames hanging on a tree
The space depicted to be free
Taking the brush and painting the world
Heeding the verses and ready to twirl
The picture says it all, hanging
A world so black it’s always dark
Moon’s great eclipse shadow, changing
The lighthouse fails to light embark
Making people see the shade mark
Never before has this been seen
Just like the Earth’s core simply been
Lovely night waves sway back and forth
The darkness has a quiet sheen
From lowlights to hate’s lowest worth
