Premium Member Jesus - King of the Jews

In His eyes was the wisdom of the ages.
In His hands was kindness and love.
His manner was tender and quiet.
In His smile was a light from above.

He traveled the highways and byways;
Spoke to rich man and beggar alike.
He taught in the streets and the temples,
Brought comfort and healing and light.

He spoke of His reason for coming,
And a home for the faithful and true.
At first He was loved by many,
And then by only a few.

He was taken to court in the city,
And put through a mockery trial.
He was hung on the cross without pity,
And taunted and rudely reviled.

Why did they do this to Jesus,
A Man who would never abuse?
His countrymen laughed and they mocked Him.
"He said He was King of the Jews".

"CHRIST DIDN'T PLEASE HIMSELF. AS THE PSALMIST SAID, HE CAME FOR THE VERY PURPOSE OF SUFFERING UNDER THE INSULTS OF THOSE WHOWERE AGAINST THE LORD. THESE THINGS WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN THE SCRIPTURES SO LONG AGO ARE TO TEACH US PATIENCE, AND TO ENCOURAGE US SO THAT WE WILL LOOK FORWARD EXPECTANTLY TO THE TIME WHEN GOD WILL CONQUER SIN AND DEATH."
                                                                                     Romans 15:3-4

Thought

Start

If someone asked me, “A penny for your thought”
I’ll tell him, “Sorry! It can’t be bought”
The thought process runs like a train
Fed by emotions and nurtured by the brain

Said Swami Vivekananda, “Thoughts have made us what we are”
“Words are secondary, thoughts live and travel far”
Friedrich opines thoughts are the shadows of our feelings
Always darker, emptier, and simpler in all dealings

The quality of a leader is determined by his thought
Said Alexander the Great after the battles he fought
“It’s better to have an army of sheep led by a lion raising his battle cry
Than an army of lions led by a sheep that leaves everyone high and dry”

It is believed that the power of thought is the path to discovery
Never underestimate it, or your dreams will be past recovery
The soul of God pours into the world through the thoughts of human
And becomes dyed with its color that embodies his acumen

Bertrand Russell characterizes thought as subversive and revolutionary
Men in power fear it most as their style of functioning is perfunctory
Thought is indifferent to authority and defiant to the wisdom of the ages
It inculcates the sense of logic to the news around at all stages

The quality of the thoughts decide the happiness in life
Reining of evil thoughts will prevent further strife
We’ve created a vicious world in which we are caught
To change the world we have to change our thought.

Premium Member A Little Rain Must Fall

She said to me,
“Into each life, a little rain must fall”
Her voice was sweet and humble
in a Grandmother’s tone
Indeed, she was of vintage
and I, her young friend and neighbor

With wisdom of the ages,
as I lamented my latest woe,
she uttered those words
which echo still in my mind

No need to explain, I knew the cliche’
and yet her sincerity and love
                            made them ring true
We need rain to grow, to thrive

She taught me to fear not
the maturity of the human being
“Getting older is not so bad” she offered
You are going to be ok!

Although she slipped away so long ago,
and I am now older than she was
                                 when I knew her,
her sweet advice still soothes me

Whenever life brings forth the clouds,
I think of her and I remember her words
and I let it rain

Come, let’s go to the Shambala bardo
Embarking on a wingless flight of delight
Where sunlight crystallises into mists sublime
Self existent divine light illumining the dark night

When the moon shines overhead in a starlight sky
Melding with melody of soul’s music mystical
Plunging into the void, aloft a moonbeam
We fly leaving behind mind egotistical

Magnetism divine vivifies the vast void
In no time at all, we reach our destination
Beings of love and light announce our arrival
Emitting effervescence, boundless is our elation

Wisdom of the ages is bestowed on us instantly
At Shambhala, entwined with universal mind
Our life fast forwards toward the finish line
Love enabled at last, blissful and kind

Amma

In the quiet of the black night, beneath the white moon's glow,
My mother stands like Durga, fierce yet gentle in flow.
With a crown of stars and a heart full of grace,
She embodies strength in every embrace.

Her eyes are the wisdom of the ages from the past,
A guardian of affection, steadfast and vast.
With arms that protect me like the Goddess Kali,
She shields us from harm, fierce yet so free.

Her voice is a mantra, soothing and pure,
In her presence, our troubles find solace a cure.
Like Saraswati's wisdom, she guides my way,
In the light of her knowledge, we learn and we sway.

Her singing is like music, like temple bell's chime,
Resonating with joy, transcending all the time.
In the warmth of her hugs, I find my home,
With her strong spirit, I am never alone.

Oh divine mother, with love you empower,
In every small gesture, you bloom like a pink blossom.
You are the essence of life, sacred and wise,
A reflection of a goddess, in your tender guise.

To my mother, she is divine and bright,
Embodiment of grace, my guiding light.
In every heartbeat, in every prayer I send,
I honour you amma, love with no end.

Premium Member My Non-Bucket List

I have no terribly strong ambitions
and no burning desire to do something totally new.
I’ve seen, heard, smelled, tasted and felt so many things.

As a child I daydreamed.
Today such dreams are rare.
The wisdom of the “ages” has proved to me
the futility of dreams too high,
for I have learned by now
that if I had truly wanted
the fantastic things I’d once desired,
surely I’d have fought and gotten them by now.
And when I think of it, I did manage to achieve
some measure of success with poetry,
having wished once upon a time
to be able to write as did my beloved mentor -
hundreds upon hundreds of poems!

I live the fantasy of life vicariously through movies!
If I had any kind of bucket list, I suppose it would be
to watch every good movie ever made
and every one that will be made in the future!
However, that cannot be a suitable item for a bucket list
when I am always watching movies anyway to achieve that goal!

I am satisfied with life.
Even on a bad day, I am thankful for small comforts,
my home and family, friendships, poetry, the many pets I’ve loved,
the joy of simple pleasures such as music, books and food,
past experiences, future plans, and the daily routines I enjoy.

And so I search my mind to know what would be on my bucket list,
but I honestly can’t say.
I have only this to say about the “bucket”:
I hope I might learn how, in the end,
to painlessly *kick it!

* For those who don’t know: To kick the bucket means to die.

Forbidden Song

"But love's a malady without a cure."
-"John Dryden"

Forbidden Song

The jury sits, pallid and grave,
well versed in the ways of "society" and "correctness",
he appears, drowned in confusion and numb to all else,
convicted of the dreary charge of "forbidden" love.

No words exchanged, for there is no need,
the sentence rings forth, pierces his breast like a dagger,
"Your love is a mistake, your mind a mess,
listen to the wisdom of the ages".

And it stings, it burns,
but he is not one to show.
Take my arm, take my leg,
but I cannot live without my heart.

And take away all I may need,
food and drink are careless indulgences,
but allow me the liberty to, in those dying moments,
find warmth and hearth in the home of my heart.

And lock me up, lock me in
in the darkest places deep, deep down below.
Though I may live amidst the unknown, scary and dark as it is,
the light of my heart shall guide me on.

Do it all, punish me so,
but for the love of God, let my heart go,
hearts are necessary, hearts are indispensable,
how can you perceive the love of God without them?

The eyes scan the murky darkness,
there are people around him, but they live in a different plane
his lover in his eyes, somewhere far far away
from the island moored by "society".

For love he chooses to go to the farthest points,
his world is that lover, unknown to even him at this point,
yet all he needs is love, the oil for the lamp of his heart,
a shame indeed that that love is forbidden.

And woe be to love, woe be to its permanence,
its rigid adherence to the faculties of the heart,
we hope to break free of this, to untie its grasp on us,
but love's a malady without a cure.

Premium Member You are alone in the world, but the power lies within you

You are alone in the world, but the power lies within you,
You wait for someone to come and solve all your worries,
But they are caught in the whirlwinds of their own problems,
They do not have the time to turn their thoughts to your troubles.
The secret of life is not just in solving your own troubles,
But in becoming the lighthouse that illuminates the path for others,
Helping the lost to find their direction.
This is the essence of higher frequency service.
The greater and brighter your solutions for others,
The more the reward will come in the form of gratitude and grace.
Some problems may not bring immediate payment,
But you will have done what only a few people in the world understand—
That no one is coming to save them, but they have the power to save themselves.
In the mirror of the soul, you find a universe of capabilities,
Each gesture, an act of melancholy and magic,
That weaves the fragile threads of despair into knots of hope.
In this quest to help, you discover a higher consciousness.
Like a guiding star in the dark sky,
You spread light around you, enveloping shadows of fear.
Each problem solved becomes a song of redemption,
A bridge between wounded hearts and divine solace.
In the trunk of an ancient tree lies the wisdom of the ages,
You become that tree, offering shade and support.
In your roots, the self confronts itself, finding hidden paths,
And in each leaf lies the story of those you've helped.
The secret is not just in finding answers to your own questions,
But in becoming the silent answer to the endless questions of others.
This is the sublime art of existence,
A sacred dance of light through the shadows of life.
And so, in the magic of melancholy and quiet service,
You are the sculptor of destiny, creating harmony out of chaos.
In a world full of enigmas and challenges,
You rise as a beacon of consciousness, offering solutions and love.
So, look at yourself in the mirror of time,
And see the infinite power that lies within the heart.
Do not wait to be saved, but be the savior for others,
In an eternal ritual of healing and hope.
Through this calling, we touch more than our own being,
We connect to an invisible network of souls,
Where each resolution echoes a supreme truth,
That we are all part of an infinite magic, woven from love and light.

Somber is the tone of a sighing breeze
To hear her crying, in tormented grief.
Her children use to adore her beauty and its life.
And now with anguish, they rebel with strife.
They have desecrated this wonder with their hate.
Isolated themselves from our mother with haste.
Their mother knows they live in fear of not knowing.
For her children created their hell and it is growing.
Few of her children have turned from this destitution.
They begin to make us aware and start on her restitution.
They bring us closer to her with wisdom of the ages.
Showing all who listen to her, the natural gift of life, from her sages.
Native Americans has given us insight on how to live with her.
Other Old religions sought her natural life that is true and sure.
Truly, the natural wonders of her life offers abundance to what we need.
It is her way to heals us all through each and every seed.
As her natural beauty is arrayed before us in her majestic wreath.
We become still , feel her within us, as our souls start to breath.
It is not to late to turn away from life of concrete and hopelessness.
To be with our father and mother of love in life well blessed.
Take heed, loved ones, you are well loved and cared for.
And in this life of beauty and wonder, who could want more?

Premium Member My Prayer

Lord, you know I never will be perfect,
so I won’t lie and promise to be something I am not.
Lord, you know I’m weak, but with your help,
I pray I can be strong.

For myself, I don’t have much to ask.
I count my blessings daily because I am so grateful
for my health and sanity, friends and family,
the comfort of my home and spouse,
and a job that is fulfilling.

For all the little things that mean so much to me
I thank you too:
for the food I daily savor, which also feeds my body;
for the many things each day that feed my soul -
like the beauty of the land and mountains, sea and sky,
flowers, trees and creatures I have kept as pets;
for the knowledge I’ve obtained from books and classes
and the wisdom of the ages imparted to us all;
and I greatly thank you for the talent that you gave
to actors, dancers, artists, musicians, and all the many others
producing songs, movies, shows, artwork, and sweet poetry,
for you know me, Lord, and how much I adore
those worlds created from the fertile mind,
so I thank you for that portion of talent that you gave to me,
for it has brought me to a place of joy.

Finally, but most importantly, I ask that you would bless
the sick, the poor and the downtrodden, lost souls and
those who suffer from abuse.
Of all the virtues which a goodly soul should have,
I believe it’s charity I need the most.
It’s not enough to be a mere well-wisher.
I pray that I will take more opportunities given me
to bless the lives of others.
My recent sufferings have been so small
compared to that of many others in this world.
So I know that I should have a grateful heart,
for by experiencing pain myself, I have gained more empathy
for my fellow man and I’ve learned to more appreciate
those days when I feel splendid
in body, mind, and spirit.
And thank you, God, for letting me feel free to just be me!
