Silence whispers beside my empty bed,
Even loneliness whimpers to flee my side.
The darkness deepens the starkness of my fear,
Yet my mind is made — I won’t beg heartache back.
Of what use is a marriage in which love exists
Only in my mind, never in my home?
Whines and nags were the only music~
the winds played when my soul begged for rest.
Today I met your footsteps that went outdoors
And begged never to be allowed back in —
Even if your knocks dent my door with persistence.
My mind finds peace where you have hidden it.
So long as life befriends my soul and mind,
So loneliness finds peace within its depth,
So I can sleep and close my eyes without~
the fear that a knife might pierce a hole in my heart,
So emptiness can bring back my sanity.
Please—never reply to the plea of my loneliness,
To fill it with the trouble twelve years taught it to love.
And never mind emptiness begging you
to stock it with your figure filled with hatred, not love.
On the bed, my ginger cat settles
onto a pile of clean laundry, dryer warm
Feline steady stare, resolute
a strategy of possession
she relaxes the way prayer soothes
"Off!" I command. My cat an unwelcome bedded guest.
she whines, "Surely, he's bluffing!"
solidified
empowered
swollen in the pride of "I'm not moving!"
meows spewed like an anthem of resistance
I lift her from the pile,
my underwear dangles from cat claws
like cheap tinsel on a tree
she exits, her short lived reign
sulks into howls of whining
till dinner softens her rebuff
till wherever curiosity and comfort take her,
anew
My hope of co-habitation:
to calm the little woes of daily chores
to reduce cat prestige from shedded hair
to shrink feline non-compliance to a
manageable scale
Our social contract - a trade off
to reaffirm my status
to maintain the charade of "boss"
an unsteady footing
in the crushed aspiration of rule
Poem composed February 7/2022
My right foot was swollen along with my middle toe
the doctor gave me antibiotics for infection shows
The swelling was reduced and hopefully I'll be cure
but my dog Sassy has become slightly absurd
Sassy licks my foot with attention to that toe she craves
when ever I lie in bed barefoot to rest at end of the day
At first I didn't notice with diabetes hard for me to feel
but a slight sensation and I look to reveal
The silly girl dog was licking my foot like a meal
Sassy what are you doing what is the big deal
I hung my foot over the bed but she jumped to the floor
and she continue licking my foot even more
So I have to wear a sock and she sniffs and whines
is she a nurse dog or wanting to dine
Cosmo was watching her lick my foot wondering why
so the big boy sniffed it than left the room to hide
Sassy is silly and when I lie in bed
she eagerly wants me barefoot as if she is to be fed
Some dogs can smell illness and can be train to alarm
Sassy enjoys licking my sick foot I guess there is no harm.
Spring is just round the corner
As winter goes and spring arrives
The daffodils they dance in the sun
The breeze blow the tree tops
As the birds sing there morning song
The flowers come out and spread there colour
And Roses of wonderful perfume
Daffodils dance in the breeze
And the bluebells ring like heavenly bells
As Mother Nature ,comes alive,
It burst into song
Spring it yields so many things ,
It's the best season of all
And all the trees are bursting into leaf
They burst so quick you can't see
It's time for new and rabbits are born
The lambing time is here,
I can't wait for spring to come,
when every thing is new
When all the plants are just budding
And the blossom is in bloom.
Every thing seems so clean
It's fresh all covered in dew,
And as the early morning rises
The mist flows slowly across the dune
The gentle tide roll in
And the sun rises over the sea
The fishing boats were launched early
Out catching fish for tea
Along the path the primrose blooms
A tiny lemon flower ,
so delicately it moves In the breeze
It dances the morning ballet
The path I walk whines through the wood,
My little dog loves her walk
She plays among the bluebells
While they ring like church bells
And way above the canopy
The birds begin to nest
As they rush around to fine
Twigs to build there nest
Every thing comes alive In spring time
It's the season when all is new,
It's clean ,
it fresh ,
and bright .

Suppliants Soliloquy
I turn away a stage no more
Set up high on a pedestal
To say my peace, naught to be lore,
Observed a point, incredible.
If this naught be my righteous day
I feel my eyes will not suffice,
But close my heart its stead, say nay,
Kept open to needed advice.
I claim no virtue 'tis of mines,
For I, a mind, made full of sorts,
So worthy be the choice defines,
This day mines will then set the course.
It is but a crawl through mired mud,
Slime of crimes my outer being
The innards smell a stench of crud,
My essence hid but seen fleeing.
I will not heed to ill advice,
To consort with those troubled minds,
This naught be a good day of choice,
To listen to a host of whines.
If I could change but one small thing,
It is my mindset one accord,
I wait what righteous day will bring,
Find you a servant of the Lord.

I recently,
lost my wife,
She ran away,
and it changed my life.
I can doctor the wound,
cannot conceal the scar,
No matter what I do,
I'm just under par.
She is with,
a good friend of mine,
He never complains,
cries or whines.
I was tossed,
like a piece of trash,
They were slithering,
like snakes in the grass.
Neither one gave any thought,
what happens to me,
They can't see,
the things I see.
These emotions
turn into a fiery rage,
I see RED,
and I want to engage.
I want them,
to feel my pain,
Thier in love,
building castles in Spain,
He never cries,
whines or complains....

Before I knew the day, the time
He’d die,
I came home to him,
My little smile, knowing he’d
Be there, he was always there
Always aware I was his
Defender, his reminder that
Some of us were willing to believe
In his war with intruders
Intruders who were often invisible
Yet, unmistakably real
Like the thunder he accepted
With trembling heart, fear concentrated
It seemed almost a tangible thing,
Even as he squirmed from the peace
Of my arms, where there was
More love that a heart can bear,
Love rushing to his rescue,
When life didn’t seem to care
He knew me when I smiled and
When I cried, saw the darkness
Bipolar draws over the mind,
The soul, and the gentle that a prayer leaves
Behind, he knew me like I know
He would have died to protect me
From the pain of his passing
A pain that embraced me with lasting
Grief, permanent memories
A yearning for the four soft paws,
The echo of howls, the affectionate
Licking, gentling even the worst of doubts
With assurance that love is always
The way to bring music out of the clouds,
Poetry out of the whines,
Breathing hope into the moment
Just before yesterday becomes the memory
That silences the dark
Whispering joy to the heart
Who evokes – his little expression
When stroking him restored some semblance
Of the grace that has always shown me
The truth in his eyes, warm and caring,
Glowing with affection that comes to life
In those whose destiny is service
To those of us who hear the song they sing
Before their hearts grow wings!
Come my beauty, I am the voice of the forest,
Just take my mossy hand and come my dearest;
With love you will be embraced by emerald vines,
Listen to the birds sing, oh what a sweet chorus.
And in ancient towering trees the wild wind whines,
On hanging branches tangled moss falls and twines;
Let us take this path, see the sage unfolding ferns,
Not far, my dear, a creek bubbles like sweet chimes.
Come my darling, be careful of those wild rose thorns,
A colorful bright hummingbird twirls, swirls and turns;
To hear my whisper, that has always been your "choice",
I know you love me, since childhood this love burns.
The forest is within your heart and I am the sweet voice,
And in your dream dear, I called and you came by choice;
You love my green deepness, my peace, and tranquility,
So until it is time to wake, be still and just rejoice.

It was love at first sight seeing your furry faces.
To scoop you up and take you to various places.
Me and Ash are so happy to be your mom and dad.
Your shenanigans made us both glad and mad.
First our oldest Robbie, thinking you’re a big kitten.
Reminding me of a decade ago when first we were smitten.
Your belly always seems to never be full enough.
And disappointed when I stop brushing your scruff.
When Chloe, Max & Gabby went to fur heaven.
It was time for 2 babies after birthday eleven.
So with Zoey now turning one,
The house was ready for fun.
Our girl filled a void, being sweet and playful.
With wet food she always wanted a mouthful.
When getting Olivia as a tiny white fluff ball.
Zoey became surrogate mom of a baby small.
They would chase, wrestle and groom.
So fast, as a white and grey zoom.
Becoming instant soul mates.
It was totally worth the waits.
Browsing exotic pets we discovered Highlands.
With their amazing six and seven finger hands.
Having the look of a lynx deep in the wild.
Ashley’s research on the breed compiled.
The unique physical traits grabbed our eyes.
These affordable purebreds are great buys.
We spoke with some breeders and were sold.
One of these guys would surely love our fold.
So when a lil dude was born a few hours away.
We knew he would become our kid today.
Ash worked it out with them in every detail.
It was clear there was no way this could fail.
So I sit glowing with him resting behind me.
Laying in Ryder’s lap on his furry heinie.
Now Ry has a buddy loving PJ Masks like him.
Ready to relax and play at his random whim.
Seeing his massive paws and fluffy stubby tail.
His macho features couldn’t look more male.
At first he’s moving around quiet and slow.
So I wonder how his excitement will show.
Will he mimic behaviors of our prior felines?
Or uniquely ask for his leash with whines?
He’ll meet his new siblings in just a few hours.
Making himself at home on our catified towers.
My Tucker, it’s now official you’re our furry son.
With those big mitts I can’t wait to see you run!
They were all screeching about the robbery
as if it were important, some kind of stupid catastrophe
Their screams and whines and wails began to trickle into my shoes
I kicked them off, and kept going
I am a gourmet, selectively deciding what will bother me.
Material goods are okay, but I am truly all about food.
Pizza breathes life into me,
Especially when a chef understands how to garnish
And the importance of the right seasoning.
I hate to act prissy. I am not straight from a nunnery,
but I am selective. Everyone does not get into my head.
Common complaints and wails of others receives a lukewarm reception.
I glance around the barnyard, hoping to spy a little piece of pizza.
The farmer threw out some left over pepperoni to us yesterday.
