A bird comes to tell me a story,
perched on my window sill,
it knocks on the glass to wake me up,
with its bright yellow bill!

This morning’s tale was about their love,
love as all the birds know,
sparrows, larks, black ravens and the dove,
their bond and wedding vow!

Their start of love is dance of feathers,
a skittle, circle, shake,
build her a nest that stands all weathers,
close to the big blue lake.

Love her, love her, love her tenderly,
her heart is soft as her,
dote on her, she soon be motherly,
needs emotional cover.

Season of flowers will soon be here,
seeds to feed little ones,
eggs hatch as new yellow bills appear,
squeaking with mouth open.

As parents we love them, love them dear,
one day they fly away,
never see them again nor we hear,
alive or fallen prey!

Birds do not cry, so no tears were seen,
so I wept for, instead,
I had been through what this bird had been,
bent and kissed her forehead!

So love as we know is all the same,
be human, bird or beast,
next time if you kill or maim a game,
their love may be your feast!

Premium Member Thorns of Life

Bound by love and fear, the thorns piercing the
soul as if emptiness exist.
Where in darkness does life lay as I fight this
internal beast eating at my soul.
Dying not an option it lingers in mind trouble.
Where is it to which bondage does not hold but
deep feelings I have no control.
Only being I am, in anger but love I'm fond.
But do my presence have meaning or am
I just being.
Being a part of my own heart's prison, l dare
to bleed but seek oneself.
This darkness I must conquer even within this
shield I surround.
A rose and its beauty of elegance with pedals
of devine extreme.
A stem of life and meaning grows but season
and weathers.
Tare not that it survives and not die as times
endless presence I live.
But cut free and water that its love may
blossom and grow.
But take care for only seasons come and go
it feels.
Only the warmth of love does passion
have meaning.
But thorns of life rip, leaving you bleeding.

Vinyl of the Green Dawn

Play well the vinyl of your teenhood,
since it sounds nice like waters out of a spring,
but if not played with care and dexterity
it loses rhythm to the roars of thunderbolts.

Yet it always blooms like dawn of a bright day,
full of hopes, rewards, and aspirations
that can get blown away by veiled distractions
that may appear welcoming and comforting.

Green years plant trees with sweet fruits—
the wise sip the juice with caution.
Though sometimes so sweet the throat can’t resist,
its flavours are best savoured a bit at a time.

For those whose flowers still bloom,
take care to nurture and prune them.
Many dry seasons are ahead that can wilt them—
yet their beauty we pray to last us beyond dry weathers.

Let the record spin past its labeled side,
into the run-out groove where silence hums.
There the thunder is only a memory of rain,
and the spring, though distant, still feeds the roots.

Thensing Tongue

those of them consorted to
divide the two
they sought telling stories
they found opportunities
to take.
seizing days for tomorrow
to undermine the means of existence,
thus making different what he sought to accomplish
words of woman, made him wanted
there men, found comfort in befriending him.
they stood beside him when he wished to marry.
they congratulated him when he made pregnant his wife.
days when times were different, others sought favors from those they
supported in the past.
needing appreciation for doing new things,
and loving new woman.
one found himself in love
and in the mist of his realization, he asked
those friends who had been kind to him
to support his campaign to marry.
they saw fit to turn there head
citing the woman's inability to
make decisions in a timely fashion.
they used words and phrases and skirted
issues "like women" the fela said of these folk
he wanted to be his friend, " like woman they support
the campaigns of strangers, turning their back
to be unkind and selfish, lacking courage and means,
to gain which is right in it's proper speaking."
yet those who divide are unseen and their
voice can't be said as familiar.
they make strange your interest
to cover
their own desires, paper thin are there
there ego's, the materials they use
to cover are transparent: then which angers them
might be that they have accomplished,
and wish to make those who wish then to do such things
seem lesser persons, those who have not
the ability to achieve.
" which post holds the roof to the floor: might he in anger
have the house to collapse"
"they tempress the tinsinging pultute: to make folly of your feelings.
speaking the names of your enemies to make your frustrant and spiteful.
they tell those you, what you say: never speaking
of the manner you said it!"
"he that troubles shall be seen as vindictive and revenge seekers: making the easy targets for those who
like trouble"
what weathers hast thee to toil: that your woman have unraveled your sense and ability to restore.

To write a tongue twister is not funny mister
I just don’t know where to begin
There’s one that I’ve written with which I’m quite smitten
But I’d had a very large gin...

Workers wrinkles worsen when wind worsens winters worst weathers

If your decision is instant derision
I guess I should try it again
So here is another, I pray to my mother
That your words will not cause me pain

Working writers write written works: Writing workers write workers rights

But too many choices in too many voices
Might just leave some of you floored
So I think one more is plenty before
I leave every one of you bored...

Fierce forest fires frazzle thrushes feathers

So, okay, I’ll brave it and say that’s my fav’rit
I hope that it tangled your tongue
But if that one didn’t but one of them did
It means that my song had been sung

P.S... Freds frozen fingers feed thread through first

I'm Never Anywhere Anywhere I Go

Laying facedown in the dirt, I exhale a prayer:
Is it wrong to question God on my configuration?
I ask, standing or kneeling on this foundation of
bone. Rising to occasions I never sought, with
proof of divinity yet to be shown.

Would you laugh if I were to tell you that the
galaxy were made of milk? Or that faith is made
of cheese? Time weathers while burdens erode,
and it’s best to appreciate the sediment, for it builds
over time to your version of God, and it’s for the
best you better believe in it.

Otherwise you’ll find yourself laying in the dirt,
asking silly questions and thinking silly thoughts,
scrambling up to get the mud off of your jeans.
What a mad world this one must be.

Mad, mad indeed.

A String

The dog on a string with a homeless man attached
Two lonely souls where the world had detached
Sleeping on the street with no fixed abode
Sat on a blanket next to a busy road

The dog eyes of brown that sadness knows well
Where they came from no one can tell
Both came together when each was in need
Helping each other to find the next feed

Walking this earth living day to day
Begging for coppers is their only way
To sustain their existence and keep both alive
Doing what they can so the duo can survive

Sleeping in a doorway as pedestrians walk by
The pair are invisible, the odd person will try
To offer some kindness and purchase a meal
A box of dog biscuits and a meal deal

No cosy bed to lie in, living off scraps
Keeping watch over when its owner naps
A life not predicted but where the cards lay
A stray taken in by another stray

Out in all weathers, keeping each other warm
Hot in the summer, soaking from a storm
The dog on the string is devoted to the end
The man with nobody but his canine friend

The man with a long beard, the dog needs a groom
Both lay dreaming when they would have a room
To rest their heads and shelter from the night
Each clinging to each other with all of their might

Premium Member Soldiers of Nature

A testimony of time
staring of into
the distance
A storm blowing
dark clouds

Howling its way
across the sea
trees like gladiators
hanging branches
bent with age
faced the wind
rooted firm

Braced for the raging storm
twisted with the pain of centuries
protecting us
from its force
like wings
their branches blown back
our first defence
our shield
against the elements

Rooted firm
they stand tall
through the cries and moans
of natures souls
whistling and moaning
through their branches

Warning us
of whats to come
hundreds of years
we stood
in all seasons ,
all weathers

Looking around
fallen soldiers
broken trunks
tore from the ground
years they held
their ground

Now sitting
at the fire
a log in my hand
only now
you give me warmth
soldiers are trees

Around a fire
we tell our tale
as firmly we stood
against the gale
another day
another battle

Why I Love You

Author Dana Redricks
December 15, 2023

In the realm of love, a recipe is found,
Blending compassion, gentleness profound.
A perfect mix of sweet emotions true,
Combined with hardships and good times, too.

With every passing day, my love takes flight,
Growing closer, stronger, in your radiant light.
Even in anger, my heart's tethered to you,
For your presence makes my love deeper, true.

Love is not merely sunshine and flowers,
It weathers storms, endures life's showers.
Together we face the challenges that be,
Keeping the world at bay, just you and me.

Through thick and thin, our love shall remain,
Faithful and steadfast, despite any strain.
In the realm of love, we're bound as one,
United in a bond that can't be undone.

So let the winds of life blow as they may,
Our love will persist, come what may.
Through the good and the bad, my heart's steadfast,
In your embrace, our love will forever last.

Premium Member Sign of the End

We are living in a world
things are so hard to deal with.
Wars,calamities,deaths...
unexpected tragedies we meet.
Don't you feel,
don't you care to ask?
Is it still normal,
what tomorrow will lead us.
People are killing people,
Nature causes big distress.
Pandemic diseases,
Abnormal weathers.
what is the future about to bring?
Prayers and faith,
is the only thing that's left.
To endure the sorrow,
save our soul from a boiling sulfur.
sizzling in the depth of core.
I hope its not yet late,
to bring back our love and faith.
May we find the way to life.
Before the ending has arrived.
