Love In Flight
A bird comes to tell me a story, perched on my window sill, it knocks on the glass to wake me up, with its bright yellow bill! This morning’s tale was about their love, love as all the birds know, sparrows, larks, black ravens and the dove, their bond and wedding vow! Their start of love is dance of feathers, a skittle, circle, shake, build her a nest that stands all weathers, close to the big blue lake. Love her, love her, love her tenderly, her heart is soft as her, dote on her, she soon be motherly, needs emotional cover. Season of flowers will soon be here, seeds to feed little ones, eggs hatch as new yellow bills appear, squeaking with mouth open. As parents we love them, love them dear, one day they fly away, never see them again nor we hear, alive or fallen prey! Birds do not cry, so no tears were seen, so I wept for, instead, I had been through what this bird had been, bent and kissed her forehead! So love as we know is all the same, be human, bird or beast, next time if you kill or maim a game, their love may be your feast! written 8/June/ 2022 9,6,9,6 syllables with rhyme.
