In today’s world it’s easy to lose track of time
& otherwise get caught up in what’s going on.
So many families split up, so many loved ones
Lose track of who they are. Why they came together.
Divorcing a memory they can never truly run away from.
In today’s world it’s a blessing to know you. To get facial recognition & assurance with your every smile.
Not every moment can be as perfect as we expect it,
Yet we are appreciative and try not to take the moment
For granted. Just as the saying goes, “Not everyone knows what
They have.” It’s those refreshing moments that remind us
Of God’s praise. Not at all excusing us for the times we become
Absentees when we’re needed most, or simply lose track
Of time, there are so many things that factor into who we are,
Our upbringing, things we experience, The shapeless void
Of a missing father.
While that effect is monumental, we respond without responding.
Silence sometimes the most powerful form of toxicity
In response to communication.
In today’s world it’s not that uncommon, placing something else
Instead as priority, forgetting the bigger if not biggest issue.
For better or worse, the most memorable part of any union.
We take it at face value forgetting that we’re all kids at some point
Or another. It’s not impossible to revert back as we’re all human
At the end of the day.
That doesn’t at all excuse us for the times we aren’t present,
not just for ourselves. But for our partners, our friends, our families
the priority of accepting love as a walking and breathing testimony.
Our hands the door of faith, as we journey to the alter our lips
Have formed.
In today’s world it’s a blessing to know you & to get facial recognition
As well as reassurance every time I look at you.
No matter how much we mumble or grumble. I am forever grateful
to have met the love of my life.
Everything I’ll ever need no matter how much time passes.
You’re all I’ll ever need
We were but strikes of lightening, sealed in a glass jar
Fumbling about with nowhere to go.
Exhausted, we conducted ourselves
With a slight curb of enthusiasm.
Sprung to life with the slightest touch
Electric current twirling forward, then back.
Sparks igniting beneath our toes
Traces of where we've been crackled.
Sizzled in a flash by the dark spot of glass.
We were irresponsible in the abundance of each other
The glass soon stained by soot,
Purified by the euphoria of what came to be known as climatic.
Every taste
Every passion.
Soon exploiting what came to be known as each other.
We polluted ourselves with the taste of each other
Becoming the overcast beneath the top of the jar.
Surrounded by absolute dark.
The way I saw the universe in her eyes
Laying beneath the night sky surrounded by acres of thought
Vast in length
Breathless in thought
A jolt of vibration quivered in heart
Now I am certain of nothing
But your existence, in chaotic disbelief.
The scurry of feet patter down the path
Of the avenue & city blocks downtown.
As beautiful as you are dangerous,
Now open to the world around you.
A fiery ship intentionally dragging it’s
Anchor in obsession.
Not knowing how or when to stop.
The smog of smoke eases its way down.
We all were told to evacuate.
What is this place?
What is this promise made anew?
Some days are better than others,
The stars blend in with the search lights.
At times it’s hard to tell which is which.
I stand in both shock & awe.
It looks like the sky has split open,
The closest I’ll ever get to the sun
Not knowing how, or when to stop
You’ve always been familiar to me
A lot of the time It’s not easy,
Finding someone that can
Finish your sentence before
You can finish your thought.
Someone that appreciates the things
You care about.
To breathe life into you
When everything else feels
Exhausting.
A lot of the time
Vocal gets exhausting &
The physical is just that.
Sometimes,
You run out of words.
A mantra that only the soul understands
& heals with no further explanation,
To be understood in authentic bliss.
Bilingual as the stars and the wind.
A taste the sun unravels to the moon,
For better or worse.
It’s amazing how some of the best pictures
Happen when we aren’t paying
attention
There are fireworks
Everywhere.
Small & big reminders
Of everywhere we’ve been.
Above the rooftops, above our
Top lips, in tremendous fashion.
Spread far, your soul & mine.
I couldn’t imagine life
Without you.
Something out of the blue,
Loud & breathtaking.
How we’ve inspired each other
In quick rocket bursts.
If nothing else we’ve learned
That in a matter of minutes
It can all come to an end.
The way you kiss me &
The ethos of traveling souls
Finding a color to forever live in.
I’ve found a place, there are
Fireworks everywhere.
If nothing else, we’ve learned
That in a matter of minutes
it can all come to an end.
& when it does, I’ll race you
To the top & kiss you and
Every memory I have of you.
The cosmos of left over
Gunpowder & shredded paper
All combustible in our celebration.
With eyes closed,
& the sizzling palpitation of my heart.
Possibly the biggest reminder.
Whenever I see fireworks,
I think of you
She visited me wearing new skin.
Finally revealing
that she was afraid to fall.
Throughout life we're all confronted
With moments like this at some point.
At first, I didn't recognize her.
Shades of her old skin peeking through.
She coiled into my arms.
Finding the warmth of my chest.
The memories that I tried to block out
Welcomed her.
No longer neurotic, but initiatic.
The skin I remember.
In search of something
I didn't readily show.
Feeling that it was too easy.
Her eyes heavy, in need of sleep.
Accustom to mistakes, she wandered.
When I realized it was her.
I hesitated.
Ready to meet her with a million
questions.
Her new skin softer, a bit warmer.
Anxious but no longer afraid.
She fell into my arms
Revealing that she's
searched for me everywhere.
Turning my dreams upside down.
"If this is the only time I am happy again." She said.
"I want to spend it sleeping in your arms."

Everything I’ll ever need no matter how much time passes.
You’re all I’ll ever need
Hold me in your brain
Close to memories you're soon
To forget.
Only time will tell, close to things you'll
never forget.
Hold me in your brain with
Things that make you laugh, things
that make you cry.
If for some reason you feel afraid.
I'll be right there.
Reminding you how good it feels
being this close to you.
To help if you should ever forget.
Your favorite song to dance to in the rain.
The good memories and also the bad.
I feel utterly & completely safe
Dancing around in your brain.
Deep in the catacombs I hope you never forget.
A small reminder of how good it feels
being this close to you.
The cover that protects you from the monster under your bed.
The fear of being yourself if confronted with something new.
A simple thought that eases your brain.
Here in the box of your brain
Amongst all your favorite things
Deep in the catacombs I hope you never forget

I’ve looked everywhere for you
& still can’t find you.
I’ve wandered back & forth,
Every side street that looked familiar
And those that didn’t.
There are a lot of things I can’t do for myself.
If I’ve done anything to offend you to deserve
Anything like this then I am truly sorry.
My worst nightmare come true.
I can’t find you anywhere,
If I see you again I promise I’ll never leave
Your side.
I’ll do whatever you say.
I now know what it means to be hungry,
I’ve tasted thirst & it’s a beverage I’d rather
Not taste.
I’ve wandered all around & still haven’t seen a trace
Of you.
If I was too prideful, didn’t fully commit to anything
You asked of me.
It’s because I didn’t fully understand what you asked of me.
I’ll do anything to see your face again.
I’ll do anything to be able to call home, home again.
I’ve looked everywhere for you & still can’t find you.
If you see my face, know I am looking for you
