Premium Member Whiskey Moon Wild Wish

In arrant essence, without a fight,
Herald of vamps, in the dead of night
Ushers a raw wave that captivates,
The heights of the cosmos resonate.

Wax in our ears, the truth we long to hear,
Despite fear or quaint hopes, with zeal, we steer.
In bravery, the sun's light subdues the sight.
Rolling through the despair of a lonesome night.

Slightly too reckless, we dare to dream,
Framing a foist under the whiskey moon gleam.
Reminiscing about the warmth once shared,
Now mislaid in the miles left behind, scared.

Yet in the depths of our soul, a blaze remains.
A flicker of optimism that cannot be tamed.
Whiskey moon and a reckless wish
Guiding us through this journey, a celestial dish.

We dance with the cosmos, our spirits alight,
Embracing the unsung, chasing the light
With every endeavor, we withstand the odds,
Leaving behind the solace of familiar nods.

In the cosmic realm, we decry our place.
Unveiling the secrets with zeal and grace
Whiskey moon, shining dazzlingly above
Reminding us of castaway love.

But in the gloominess, we explore our way,
Through the shadows, we will not stray.
In the depths of our soul, we hold,
The memories of compassion were once bold.

Though miles may separate and time may pass,
The alliance we formed will always last.
Whiskey moon and ambivalent bliss
Swaying us through life's unpredictable abyss

Oh, say can you see the land of the freebie
and the home of the ungrateful bleating.
Where borders are blown wide open by vote vamps.
To the glee of coyotes -desperados -the depraved.
Stars and stripes replaced by the heartless-shooting blanks.
Where elitist stick shanks into the faith of good people.
Who're deemed racist for standing for a starry banner... disgraced.

The trinity was tossed long ago into cancel culture canyon.
Were last seen thumbing it down Route 666 in a flash flood.
As the cultists put another bullet in Honest Abe's head.
While looters and rioters and cop killers were martyred.
Working-class stiffs were slit open- bled out from either end...
into the collection plate of the jackass-fascist and Uncle Sham...
Where goodness was woven into the fabric of evil and mayhem.
Upon burning looms of crooked buffoons and bullhorn goons.
In the land of the freebie and the home of the ungrateful dead.

ILL INTENT EVENT

Deep into the dark, amid the shadows, dwells the blackest spark
Or no, wait, it'sa nightmare convening, and the park is screaming
Or perchance a ghoulish gathering, killing and preening
Bad dream screening, cloaked and masked with disbelieving
The curtains been pulled, the marriage annulled
Death and dulled, the demons are doin' well
All things considered, sanctimonious, and sick, this is all just swell

The fog flourishes while evil rings the graveyard's bell
This is certainly a show, don't tell
Sinister, cozy, and cold, the decadence and debauchery unfolds
Just as the days of centuries old played out
Victorian Gothic, historical, and classic, with all the Vamps sportin' a blood locket
The delicious allure of death dazzles
Causing desolation and loneliness to frazzle
A puzzle of phantoms, vast and not random
An Andy Warhol fandom, all the Nevermores gettin' their corpse on Forevermore
Outstanding

So what does one make of this funeral with a cake, dead roses
And the realization that love is fake
A ghostly compendium of dubious give and take, live the death
Enjoy the Devils Breath by the lake
Fascinate over the forsaken, disturb the unwaken
Go ahead, have a slice of liver or belly bacon
Here, it's yours for the takin'
Mayhem is a'makin', and this can very well be that Heinous exotic Hellish vacation
The one Lucifer is always hailing or abating
Which reminds me of that abysmal sensation that follows him around
And why is he here? He belongs downtown - underground.....

You say you're not afraid
Of Were-wolves and the like
Or those blood-sucking Vamps
That fly around at night
No creature from the crypt
Could make you run and hide
And no pack of dead dog zombies
Could make you stay inside

Monsters sure know better
To stay out of your way
And if they don't, they know
That they will have to pay
You say you are the reason
That ghosts are pale and white
And ghouls and goblins only dare
To come out late at night

Now, I've known you just a few years
And I'll confess it's true
I've never met a person
More scarier than you
I remember the very day
I was most, feared, for my life
When I signed those legal papers
That made you my X-wife

Alice In the Real World

Alice Run!
Down Down, the rabbit hole!
A secrete place
Escape away
Monsters and Goblins
Just tales of old
Vamps and Witches
Only exist in the real world
In that land, up above
In man, without love
In a strange land, a
Truth-twisted, God-resisted land
Man's evil addiction
Quick now Alice,
Back to fiction

Alice, no!
A girl on tv
She's a mother to be
Do they hate her
Because they fear
She not their normalsy
Beasts with nothing to do
So its all up to you
To voice and say
She's not a freak, she's not ugly
Oh Alice, what will we do?

Evil is real
Not pretend, not fiction
It is that of man
With no Godly conviction
Oh Alice, take me with you
Down Down, the rabbit hole
Lets leave behind
The obsene real-world
I hear the victims cry
And the headstones say
Come a lil closer
We're still hungry

But Alice is sane
As sane as a mad-hatter
She'll stand the test of time
Alice can see up rabbit hole
And perhaps in time
In this land of rhyme
She'll see no reason to go

Premium Member Darkness Never Sleeps

Temptress beside the river
she beckons me from a hill
Lust permeates my body
driven insane by her shrill
Temptation does pirouettes
Dancing naked within reach
unquenched and oozing fire
let me taste you, I beseech

Temptress blindfolds my eyes
her suiters are nothing like me
Ego seduces the conscience
when passes are seemingly free
Temptation is wearing a veil
insatiable between the sheets
Together we undulate in sin
as her hair caresses my feet

Temptress is a hall of mirrors
warping everything I can’t see
Projecting a sirens darkness
into surrealistic fantasies
Temptation controls the mist
morphing through my dreams
Brings me inside quasi heaven
slave to her orgasmic screams

Temptress is an open invite
closed mind’s always cheat
Spiked was the vamps chalice
alas addiction’s bitter sweet
Temptation, I sup her last drop
then go searching for desert
Back into the vales of yonder
one hour before she gave birth

Premium Member Only The Goldfish Knows

Dreams evolved from the tusk of night
into the speckled mist of dawn.
Rye-buttered toast and fresh roast are on.
Window filled with silver sparkle.
Birds chirping from boughs of their emerald church.
It's been a good day... so far.

It's been a good day ...so far.
Heartache is briefly sealed in a mason jar.
No vamps sniffing at the nape of the neck.
No auto wrecks, freak accidents, nor death.
The goldfish is well flaked and blows me a kiss.

It's been a good night... so far. No black phone calls.
No specters in the corner of the eye or bathroom mirror.
Only worn eyes that know the spring as well as the fall.
The silver swells, bloody trails and purple troughs.

Age has no dominion over wisdom or discernment.
 I'm rapidly approaching my final home.
There's still so much more to do and to learn.
Only the goldfish knows that precious things are never forged from gold.

A dream is a microscope through which we look at the hidden occurrences in our souls. Erich Fromm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the placidity of the night's embrace,
bewitched the cosmos with an arcane grace.
The moon, a silver orb, may induce its rise.
Oozing its ethereal aurora over the skies
Whispers of worm words waft on wafture wear,
As the stars spangle, their nexus is spare.
The night wiles with its vestigial spell,
Drawing us in, under a talisman dwell.
Penumbras plaster pegs poltergeists of trees,
The twilight augury decry casts souls at ease.
Geezers of nightgown awaken from slumber,
Suing solace in the Cimmerian shade to clamber
The eventide sky overawes with a cosmic array.
Stars bedazzle and coxswain us on our way.
Moonlight sumptuous aura in a gentle glow,
Steer us through the shadow as the nexus flows.
Ebony necromancy decry a glamorous sight.
Drawing us close to the serendipity of the night.
In this cosmic wee hour, dreams bear flight.
Our souls are raised, and our hearts blight.
So let us indulge in this nocturnal delight,
As dusk vamps, squirting a glamor of delight.
Let us wander in the moonlit haze,
As sableness susurrous surreptitious sprays
Wee crepuscule twiddles, a plum night symphony
Where conceit phantasm and verity shed sympathy
Allotting an awareness acumen ariose and aureate
Upon ubiquitous utters uncanny unsophisticate.
To see a stamp thrown in the bin, now that is such a crime,
I’ll revere it in my collection making it sublime.
Written 1st March 2013 by Rachel Fawcett. I am a Trained Nurse by day and spend my time off collecting stamps and trying to write poetry.  I haven’t been publicly writing very long and this is only the second poetry competition I've ever entered.  I love writing as it stretches my imagination and I enjoy the challenge it brings.  I love collecting stamps as they bring order to my mind.
