Always swimming against the current, traveling a path that wasn't clean
A Pandora's Box of past experiences...This Is The Life These Eyes Have Seen
I remember when in grade school/sad at home/and fewer friends
In the throes of a shattered childhood...into the abyss this youth descends
Reading, Writing, and some Arithmetic, it was The Three R'S which kept me sane
Yet, in my psyche a storm was raging; nimbostratus and soaking rain...
By junior high much more than wretched/abuse endured would set the tone
Dark Midtown blocks, a hustler's playground...those streets of pain I walked alone
Things were done, it's called survival, deeds mostly wrong but, sometimes right
Only God above could Love me, a desperate child who sought The Light
I knew boys who sold their "manhood", a tragic fate, they sold their soul
Forty Second the eighties quicksand, and many kids were swallowed whole
Ingest these words of tribulation/I freebased when just sixteen
By nineteen on crack and fiending...This Is The Life These Eyes Have Seen
Chasing the cloud, yes, on a mission, losing sleep to find the drugs
Looking for hits, but, finding nothing/a thousand specks on darkened rugs
Then came prison/another nightmare/just twenty six/a second bid
Introspection/ineffable loneliness to pay for all the things I did
Striving hard to avoid all conflict, encountering things that made men fear
I went so deep within my spirit; no one could ever hurt me there
Adult years of daily suffering/teenage times that weren't serene
Still, several Blessings amongst the hardships....This Is The Life These Eyes Have Seen
“It’s just a cold,” the doctor said,
But every time I cough,
I worry when I’m on the plane,
They’ll want me to get off.
“It’s just a cold,” he reassured;
“You’ll have to wait it out.
I’ll give you meds but you should know
Their helpfulness I doubt.”
“It’s just a cold – you’re lucky
There’s no fever and no aches.
To heal, get lots of rest and liquids –
That’s just what it takes.”
“It’s just a cold” is what I’m told
Yet Monday I’ll be flying.
I’m following the doc’s advice;
I’m really really trying.
For traveling has lots of stress
And sickness, in addition,
Despite it being “just a cold,”
Will worsen that condition.
He was a young man traveling lightly with nothing much to carry
but his dreams and wide-eyed wonder
and a ticket for a ferry
Ride, across a river wide that meandered like nothing real
while looking for rhyme and reason
to come alive and learn to deal
With whom and what he was inside, deeper than the skies
he would soon be crossing over
with this new-found ferry ticket ride
Taking him to places he knew not where or when
Yet knowing he’d soon be racing time
like a moth against the wind
While waiting for the ferry boat still in his youthful prime
He heard the wind spin tails again and whisper “Time to ride.”
Falling, I don't know what to do
Down the lane, all thoughts sink
Traveling through my own blue
Coming, I feel Thy eyes' jot blink
You give me a hand in my hand
All thoughts give way, blue brand
Your hand never let go
While I was led astray
By hustles years ago
My hand, off as prey
Never see You coming
Despite my shortcoming
Listening to the rays of Thy eyes light
I thought everyone has just said goodbye
Shining gradually brighter triggers fright
Happy yet couldn't lift my stiffed thigh
You give me a hand in my hand oh Lord
All thoughts give way, blue brand sword
Your hand never let go
While I was led astray
By hustles years ago
My hand, off as prey
Never see You coming
Despite my shortcoming
Selecting, I think new to brighten up life
Of certainty is no assurance like change
Constant to check out on one cum strife
Forestalling discipline if by chance estrange
You give me a hand in my hand dear Sir
All thoughts give way, blue brand demur
Your hand never let go
While I was led astray
By hustles years ago
My hand, off as prey
Never see You coming
Despite my shortcoming
Speaking to the test of time cum faith
I beseech grace to accompany my vow
Cos I am a young man toting interfaith
How will I get my place to labor one bow?
Give me a hand in my hand to hold
Before one, that I can stand so bold
Your hand never let go
While I was led astray
By hustles years ago
My hand, off as prey
Never see You coming
Despite my shortcoming
Trying, I have tried to flee many a time
Away from the memory of past belief
Either cool or warm to bury tough crime
Then Clean my house with Joshua's relief
Give me a hand in my hand off sorrow
Before one, that I can stand tomorrow
Your hand never let go
While I was led astray
By hustles years ago
My hand, off as prey
Never see You coming
Despite my shortcoming
Reading out my account on your way
I sensed the night had overtaken light
Either true or false, morning now pay
Darkness hugely to shine out of plight
Give me a hand in my hand cum trouble
Before one, that I can stand to bubble
Your hand never let go
While I was led astray
By hustles years ago
My hand, off as prey
Never see You coming
Despite my shortcoming
A letter poem to my neighbor's teen, with the same birthday of my father in the month of October, (in October tales)
They took out our free furnished chairs, and happened in, they
at least they did tell you about that, didn't they?
We tried also with our special veggie tales with your fabulous homegrown dishes
Rasmalai, Biriyanni and Tandoori in Coronado apartment
Had multiple suits glowing with diva with your birthday in a stylish way!
And they should! Where every should could!
And what could they say! Anyway!
For a traveling overseas photo with Aunty and the birthday delight
A status quo in the ever delighted hue, twilight
Still thinking about an acasia, hyacinth for a photogenic try
Picked up a bay leaf, mend a leaf and trying for a seeress, cast in situ, in a story, try
This time this time, Nobel time in calling bell
Over the counter and Island too!
This must be the very high time!
For an Acro and a trip, with Ansar and Muhajir!
Mosita
Mo stands for Mobassher
Si stands for Sibbir
Ta stands for Tajmil
They got you outsourced for your motif in Vatican City , in an Auction
For a laminated fishy Gandhi read
One paid in a smoothie centre for a Modi
The other preferred South Africa to dump Gandhi instead
For a peace train , law is never the land and vice versa too!
For a helpless tattoo, what can we do?
What can they say, in anyhow, anyway?
I was caught by a train yesterday
I hear people say
this often in exasperation
exaggerated tones
with over-dramatic groans
as if the train somehow
physically captured them
in its large mechanical grasp
diabolically refusing
to let them go
Yesterday
I was caught in a different way
imagination captured, you might say
captivated
charmed
and enchanted
by the passing art display
Something about the way
vibrant, vivid colors
unexpectedly
splashed out on moving canvas
of rust red and dull gray
traveling fast
across the city
feisty train talking smack
with tags and words amusing, witty
strange, disturbing, edgy, gritty
grinding down the tracks
Sometimes shocking-
artfully rendered obscenities
or surprisingly
endearing
cartoon creatures
manga characters
from overseas
expressed with impressive
expertise
and ingenuity
As other drivers sat nearby
fussing, fuming
missing the show
pawing their floorboards
like impatient horses
hands gripping wheels
ready to go-
I watched the trains in
constant childlike
wonder and delight
for those twenty minutes of my day
two trains gone by, one each way
...Then watched the other cars
rolling through
still red
flashing lights
as soon as crossing arms
were lifted halfway
rushing, roaring
trying to make up
the time that was “taken”
by the railway
An Airliner on its regular schedule
It seems the Airliner was stuck in an anywhere time module
The Airliner would take off in fligh5t in the present, but would go from current into unknown times
The flight would be smooth
The destination was supposed to be from Los Angeles to Chicago
The passengers, Pilot and entire Flight crew themselves going from through historical past
It planned on the Flight chart
Even the passengers had no idea as to what was going on and what was transpiring
Confusion and concern running through everybody’s mind
No explanation could be expelled into why and what was happening on the Airliner
Finding their way to where?
There was no getaway only time traveling entry way
Fuel was getting low
The airliner in flight, but seemed locked in time to anywhere
Stuck in time to nowhere bound
They couldn’t even return back to their time where everything started
Airliner in its own search, but loss in no find.
Laws of physics tell us that "light will take the path that requires
the least time when traveling from one point to another"
and the Bible tells us “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light."
As humans, we get to intepret what our light is and how to share it
with others in our daily journey of life
I am one who enjoys words, both spoken in kindness, and written
to pour my heart onto paper when joy or pain becomes too intense
So words are my light, yet I have a friend whose light is art
and when she pours her light into a work of art,
it brings imense joy to others and because of that,
I have no doubt that people will know her name one day
I also have several friends whose music is their light and it shines
every day through their words and notes for the world to enjoy
As we travel through life, I suspect that each person will shine their
light in a variety of ways and I just hope that my light will inspire
others to shine even brighter in their own way
How quickly I became intoxicated,
inebriated on this bewitching night
while watching the luminance of starlight.
I drank deeply of the view with heart and soul
beyond my limit... beyond control,
so mesmerized was I by the radiant gleaming.
Stars seemed to sway and sparkle
as if they were dancing in the velvet night,
shimmering in the patterned steps of a waltz.
Through a blackened hole of stellar mass
I continued to tumble among mordant shadows.
Sober enough to admit that I was traveling
in space while hearing a celestial melody.
A hymnal song written by the Master Virtuoso,
played throughout the hallowed heavens.
Lyrics that only angel's voices are allowed to sing.
The grandeur of starlight washed over me
and inveigled a symphony of senses in my mind
until at last, I was able to fully comprehend
the pellucid meaning of their inscriptions.
I'd been granted a mere glimpse of their secrets
in the realm where fulgent stardust whispers
of what was, what is, and of what will be
long after the light within me has dimmed.
I fly on wing of song.
Twenty-three miles out of Atlanta
soaring like an eagle traveling from DC
thirty-six thousand miles high
Fly, fly away
Through the blue hues of morning
white fluffiness lie below towards earth
puffy white and gray cotton-like softness
gently moving on windsong
feeling like a Welsh princess
watching o’er her universe.
I see the world through a rectangle
looking out over the airplane’s wing
reaching outward and upward.
Soaring like hope
Moving like faith
Solid span of charity
Humming motor onward bound joyful sound
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground
wind under my winged sails
I’m pressing on the upward way.
Arrows painted on wingspan
pointing left as we travel right
viewing “safety line attach point”
feeling secure way up here
three flapjacks adjusting the wind flow
reminding of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
pouring through keeping my soul.
Upward outward incline
continuous motion held by metal strength
while thin white clouds pass by.
Heaven’s sky still far far away
no matter how far up one gets God is farther still
beyond the blue somewhere higher.
Sitting assured as my mind presses on—
landing soon will come
back to earth world
where I belong.
