Poem To My Dad
In Memory 04/17/2018
By: RobertBenThoughts.blogspot.com

It has been almost a year
Since you left us here,
For the heavenly relm
Your reward is clear.
I miss you.

Mom is doing better than before
She thinks of you daily,
She now calls me Bob
I just laugh and say it’s Ben.
Did I tell you I miss you?

The kids are doing fine
They miss you too,
Careers challenging
But they are successful,
Did I tell you I miss you?

The wife God gave me,
She is the Eveready bunny
She continues to be amazing
She misses you also.
Did I tell you I miss you?

She does for everybody
Before doing for herself,
She is like you,
Always-there good or bad times,
Did I tell you I miss you?

Got tear eyed today
Just thinking about you,
Don’t do it often
I just think of the good times.
Did I tell you I miss you?

I’m doing fine now,
I wish you were still here,
I’d take you to the mountains again,
And take you to church.
Did I tell you I miss you?

Don’t forget golf I let you win.
Myrtle Beach every summer,
Deep-sea fishing
Two walks to the pier everyday,
Did I tell you I miss you?

I remember camping
Just you and me,
Then there was Boy Scouts
When it used to be just boys,
Did I tell you I miss you?

There was Mountaineer football,
Mountaineer Classic basketball tourney,
Harlem Globetrotters,
Pittsburgh Pirates baseball,
Did I tell you I miss you?

But what I remember most is
You lived as you taught,
Slow to anger
And a great listener
Did I tell you I miss you?

Church first,
Mom second,
Kids next,
Then work.
Did I tell you I miss you?

You always believed in me,
Even when I gave you no reason,
And you always said you were proud of me
At the most important times,
Did I tell you I miss you?

The apple fell far from the tree
But I’m giving my best effort
To roll it up the hill,
I know you’re proud of me and my family,
Did I tell you I miss you?

Dad, I love you!

You'Re Worth It

 Sometimes we want
to grow up fast.
Others we want our youth to
last.
 Sometimes we want to change
the past.
Others we want to leave it
alone because it was such a
blast.
 Either way, however you feel.
You have to find a way to cope
and deal.
 Because life is a journey
 Sometimes a competition, a
tourney.
 along the way there are
things....
That beat up life and leave it
with dings.
 Sadness awaits.
After all we cant change fate.
 Tears racing down rosy red
cheeks.
 Blinding us from seeing the
beauty of the snowy mountain
peak
 Depression like lightning
strikes.
 Down like a volleyball we
spike.
 Anger and frustration builds.
 Combining to form destruction
in guilds
 All leading up to stress.
 But remember you're always
blessed.
 Remember all those bad times.
When all people did was go out
and commit crimes.
When hungry people had to go
out and wait in long lines
 Maybe to some people that
only happens sometimes.
Maybe to others all the time.
 Either way, however you feel.
You had to find a way to cope
and deal.
 Somehow you stood the rain
 You lasted through all that
pain.
You didn't fall tumbling through
the drain.
You made it through the times
that were long.
 You are strong.
 Maybe going back and forth,
ping pong.
 Differing what's right. and
what's wrong.
 But here you stand.
 Holding your own land.
Even if you feel like you don't.
And there's no luck you won't.
 I know you will.
 Because life isn't always
downhill.
Either way, however you feel.
You had to find a way to cope
and deal.
 And here you are standing
now.
Now of the past, let go.
And in yourself you will grow.
 After you realize the point
you're at is no longer low.
Instead you get to enjoy the
beauty of
 Sharing and and giving and
receiving everyone's love.
 Because
you're worth it.

My Heart You Own

Deep
inside
Your
eyes
I
looked
Saw
my
world,
Got
my
heart
hooked
I
looked
at
your
face
And
saw
it
glow
Till
the
stars
above
Had
nothing
to
show

From
that
moment
I
took
your
hand
It
felt
so
good
I
could
hold
it
And
hold
it
For
all
time
Till
at
time's
end
I
return
to
the
sand

When
I
walked
Into
your
world
Into
the
embrace
Of
your
heart
I
wanted
to
spend
My
whole
life
there

I
have
seen
you
step
Into
the
wicked
night
My
hope
is
you
will
Hold
not
another
knight
It's
difficult
this
For
me
to
say
That
I
can't
stand
As
my
heart
you
slay

The
darkness
there
Is
not
slight
But
I
pray
the
moon
Will
dare
to
shine
That
the
starry
glory
Will
be
smooth
and
fine

But
if
hold
the
knight
You
say
you
may
Just
do
not
take
His
cup
of
wine
Love
can
wrestle
With
death
they
say
And
mine
will
slay
The
pain
I
pray

Darkness
has
filled
My
heart
it's
true
Yet
of
tomorrow
I
have
not
a
clue
But
there's
an
end
To
every
journey
And
a
trophy
For
every
tourney

For
it's
the
nature
Of
time
to
roll
And
the
delight
Of
hearts
to
prowl
If
I
be
away
That
day
you
return
Just
do
not
Stand
to
mourn
And
if
near
I
be
When
you
return
Take
my
heart
back
For
my
heart
you
own

Holding On

Giving up on us when we control the bus that will lead us to bliss, but instead you hiss and say it's over when all we need is a makeover. We do need a break from all this heartache, but you are so consumed to leave while I grieve. The pain of breaking up our family seems to have no repair, oh so much despair. We can strive, survive and thrive. Just a little patience and hard work, please don't think I am being a jerk. No need to bypass or us to be an ass. It is what it is, but for this and our long journey wasn't a tourney. We are special even today, as I pray for a continued commitment to remain real as I kneel. You are my mate, please don't hate as we can create what we have been looking for-- LOVE. It really doesn't need to be created, it's just been belated. Hidden deep within our heart, once again it can start. Pain and with no gain, the choices we made are in the past; rejoice and have a blast. Forgiving and giving a pass to share a new perspective on life without strife. We've come a long way to fray. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow we share a bond more than we'll ever know. Believe together we can weave our hearts and enjoy a lifetime of happiness, not madness, or sadness. As we chase after what we seek from each other, finding laughter, love, and living as meant thereafter.

Premium Member The Fox and the Gunner

Foxes being really cute
Invaded London not expecting anyone to shoot
Playing around
On the Emiratis ground
Not hearing a hunter’s horn sound
Until one gunner left off a shell
And a war story for the shooter to tell
Going into the break down one
These feisty creatures were just trying to have fun
“Things are not going down
We must stand our ground,”
Foxes said
Time to play with the military’s head
Manipulating the army was the deal
While taking possession of the field
For some reason they did not release the hounds
Not another target strike to be found
Keeping the artillery off the board
Was just reward
Until under ten minutes
Someone got into it
A goal for Vardy
It was the Foxes sipping champagne at the party
Ending in a peaceful draw
Score leveled was the call
Point giving to each
Sharing was the lesson preached
A top four showing
Is in the Foxes showing
Arsenal needs more
To achieve the elite floor
Granted this would mean possibly another combative chore
For the military might
In the league whose position is quite right
Not to worry
Give assignment to the conniving furry
Let the foxes flirt around
Tourney bound
Looking good
As they should
Hiding inside that tree bark wood

Newsom - California governor whom voters are trying to recall
The 'Big Dance' is a nickname for the NCAA basketball tourney,
which begins this week.
Sis Jean is Sister Jean, a 101 year-old nun who works at Loyola
University, which made the 'Big Dance' for the second time in the
last four years. At age 98, she accompanied the team to the 'Dance,'
sat on the bench, hugged and cheered players, even gave them
advice(!) and Loyola came made it to the Final Four! Wow! This year,
she's going back again, at 101! What a gal!

The Golfing Newbie

The players come out to play. The audience gathered around, cheering them on.
One by one they take acknowledgment . The speaker motions to settle down.
He steps up to the tee with confidence. Ahead of him lies sand and a deep pond.

The ball takes flight now so high and far. Missing the hazards now it's home run.
A crowd supports him by cheering him on. Walking so proud looking for the ball.
Walking down a runway of grass and looking. He hits a ball again oh how fun.

They gather like mocking birds. They watch now on the green and what a sight.
This time a moment if silence. He hits the ball and wait, the club flies just as well.
He gasps for air and stutters. Bogey now becomes a painful word so not right.

If only he had a good caddy now. This is no good especially in an all time tourney.
What happened to his skills just now. Feeling numb from the shoulders on down.
Oh what a trauma to the family name. Momma will knock him out onto a gurney.

All that prize money flashing before him. And it was such a dream to walk on top.
Looking at the crowd watching him now. He chokes his caddy till it turns all blue.
What a clown says one, join a circus maybe. Now going in history as a big flop.

Premium Member Fifa World Cup 2023

For two weeks, at all hours, I watched FIFA games
Familiarizing myself with all the players' names
But I won't be viewing the World Cup anymore
after the favored U. S. team was unable to score

Too much drama was promoted, so it would seem
over not singing the National Anthem, but I'd deem
their focus was on winning, as I think it should be
and not on patriotic agendas, "My country tis of thee."

A penguin (mascot) waddles so he can't play football
If he had tried, he'd have stumbled and taken a fall
Not once did I hear his name, Tazunis, mentioned
I don't think that slight of him was well intentioned

The U.S. team was defeated by Sweden in overtime
Their goalie, Zecira Musovic, played a game sublime
Time after time her heroic efforts prevented a score
No goals had been made, but the game was not a bore

U.S. women won the first tourney game by one goal
but wouldn't "Do it Again" and lost their favorite role
They didn't play, "Beyond Greatness," not even close
It was time they fly home and to Australia say, "Adios."
