The Moment of a Lifetime

A moment in time

That cannot be erased

A memory etched

That won't be replaced

That night I won't forget

And will treasure it forever

To be in your presence

Is a gift I will part with never

I dreamed of this day

For oh so many years

And thought for sure

I would be reduced to tears

And have no words in me

To muster up the strength to say

I would be a puddle

And would have all words locked away

But when I got up to you

And you looked to me with those eyes

I felt so comforted and safe

And in that moment I began to realize

That I could speak to you

And get out what I felt inside

It came out so clear and calmly

And I didn't feel the need to hide

In the back of the crowd

Or remain silent while you there

I simply felt so blessed

And like you were the answer to a prayer

That I might have the chance

Just one chance so divine and real

To tell you all the things you have done for me

And the way you have made me feel

And then I got a picture

Which was all I ever hoped for

I couldn't believe it at all

It was everything I wanted and so much more

You took the opportunity

To talk to all of us and let us tell you our story

You then took time to walk with us

And made this night so full of glory

We never thought you would walk

With us down the street

This was so much more amazing

What a way to meet

The one who has inspired us for so long

And given us way more than we could explain

We have loved you for so long

And that love will always remain

Because you showed so much generosity

And beauty and touched us to the core

You gave us such a wonderful memory

That we truly could not ask for more

In this life ever

Beacuse we got the chance to meet you

But you took it beyond the call

You gave us more than we ever bargained for

And we are so grateful for it all

If we could replay the moment over

We would rewind it again and again

Its one of those moments we will cherish

Until our lifetime's end

A Deserved Redemption (Dedication To Craigery Michael Owens)

As daylight fades behind a fractured beauty,
Lights flash and hands in the air,
Hearts collide while shadows search through the night,
Reaching out for something to hold,
But all you got was an empty feeling,

The breath you gave was not wasted,
We heard you screaming out,
For something to believe in,
A mix of a motion your arms wide open,

Your light will find its way,
Just open your day and let everything fall into place,
While Shakespeare spoke,
You sang them and took their breath away,
The world is just a stage; you existed because you dreamed,
But you dream no more,

You forget the people you aloud to dream,
The people you inspired, the future,
The second most beautiful thing, music,
Legends never die while you reach out in the night,
Pull her close, and let her hear the song you speak,
Never let go, family comes first,

For you have turned many raw,
But none come near to as naked as you,
Beautiful you walked on the people that loved you,
As they cry out for more, they enjoyed it,
Your own worst critic,

You, seek redemption for yourself, as most the world should,
As the music fades you’re left with people staring,
I will not ask you about empty,
Most words are,

I wouldn’t last a minute on the creek,
I was just hoping these words could move you,
To see the light you have given me,
The heart and passion that kept me alive,

While inspiration taught me to play,
You kept me beating,
To miss voice like yours,
I guess I'll just cope with what I can't control,
You brought me back to life.

Thank you for your words,
The simple essence of your being,
The footprint you left, subtler than most,
Lyrically renowned, Innocence was lost long ago.

(Dedicated to Craigery Michael Owens- an amazing musician, profound human being with
open eyes)

What Can I Say

I wish I could be like Linda-Marie,
Whose words are always filled with generosity.

To say that she is a poet of repute,
Is something none of us can ever refute.

Her works are sometimes harshly gentle,
And all could well adorn our mantle.

Her personal writings are so deep indeed,
I often wonder what might have planted that seed.

She gives credit to those when credit is due,
When she comments on a poem or two.

I know that she takes us wherever she goes,
Even to the beach, where the sand warms her toes.

For so many of us know how this is true,
I am not the only one who will extol her virtue,

So, when it comes right down to the call,
She has been there for us, each one and all.

There are so many poets here who are worthy of note,
She's told each one, in the words that she wrote.

I didn't know just what I could say,
About a person who is always writing away.

But, I thought I needed to get a few lines in,
So that I would not feel chagrined.

The one thing that I have to say on my part,
Yes, Linda, YOU are the Poetry Sweetheart!

The delight about poetry
Is that we all live and learn
And for our writes to be read
We all have to earn

And we learn by reading
Other poets writes
For its a learning curve
And strengthens our mights

Its not always possible
For our words to be graced
But its what it brought us
To be here in the first place

Employment and families
Take up much of our time
But if we read to be read
Our writing will climb

Inspiration is absorbed in many ways, many times it will lie dormant and like a moth to
the flame, an attraction sparks ones imagination. I only know too well, as my mind appears to
have a few hard drives. May all your words flow, and your lives glow >> James..........

Premium Member Our Words and Pasts We Share

I am the one of us
As you are the one as i
We write from our hearts
And watch our poetry ply

Our words grow from our thoughts
And grace surfaces we scribe
All words are free to us
For its in our writes transcribed

We write about our pasts
And the times in our lives
Of nature and its wars
Where daily life decides

About the rights and wrongs
Families and our friends
Cooking up such delights
About our past times and our trends

We even write about our lost
And why they are no longer here
If even for their moment
That they graced this beautiful sphere

As you read the writes of i
Whilst i read the writes of you
Our writings in us write
The writes of me and you
