Hey Warlock!

Hey WARLOCK! Why don't you and I take a little test;
Separate ourselves from the rest, to determine who is best.
I grow weary of waiting for P.D. to respond to my battle cry.
So, don't be shy, and please don't lie! Would you like to battle THIS guy?
I took a little time to see what you had to say.
I don't know about Nate the GREAT, but Doc the POET wants to play.
Let the SORCERER and the SAMURAI battle for the top spot.
Now show me what you got, by taking your very best shot.
I guess you believe that you deserve to wear the crown,
But, like the Kidster and the Clown, you, too, will be shut down.
I am not a punk, so please don't underestimate my power.
My goal is to devour, and I get stronger by the hour.
Once upon a time, writing sonnets was the plan,
But, now, I seek the challenge of DESTROYING any man.
I have a humble arrogance, when it comes to writing rhymes,
Which is why I will accept any challenge any time.
YES! I think I am the best, so don't even bother to ask.
But, the question that I have for you is, "Are you up to the task?"
My confidence is high, so my bravado is strong.
My skills have been sharpened, so I can do no wrong.
My words will rain down, like a storm upon your head.
My bullets will separate the quick from the dead.
My Tetractys and my Cingku are sharp and strong as steel.
My Dodoitsu and my Choka will make sure that your fate is sealed.
I can slice and dice your limbs with these four Japanese swords,
Then, with a Haiku, politely sever your spinal cord.
So when it comes to courage, my friend, I tell you I have tons,
And from no fan or no man would I ever run.
If a battle is what you seek, then you are welcome to fight me,
But please, my friend, please do not try to take me lightly.
So unto you, WARLOCK, this challenge has been formally issued.
But, before you accept, you might want to stock up on your tissues!

The Blitz Poem, a poetry form created by UNSUPPORTED CODE Robert Keim UNSUPPORTED CODE .

This form of poetry is a stream of short phrases and images with repetition and rapid flow.

Begin with one short phrase, it can be a cliché. Begin the next line with another phrase that begins

The third and fourth lines are phrases that begin with the last word of the 2nd phrase, the 5th and 6th lines
begin with the last word of the 4th line, and so on, continuing, with each subsequent pair beginning with the
last word of the line above them, which establishes a pattern of repetition.

Continue for 48 total lines with this pattern, And then the last two lines repeat the last word of line 48,
then the last word of line 47.

The title must be only three words, with some sort of preposition or conjunction joining the first word
from the third line to the first word from the 47th line, in that order.

There should be no punctuation. When reading a BLITZ, it is read very quickly, pausing only to breathe.

Testing the waters:

Dreams scattered
dreams mattered

Mattered much
mattered deeply

Deeply touched
deeply shattered

Shattered lives
shattered spirits

Spirits mending
spirits lending

Lending healing
lending feelings

Feeling hopeful
feeling faithful

Faithful words
faithful deeds

Deeds done
deeds undone

Undone damage
undone scars

Scars mark
Scars wounds

Wounds healed
wounds flesh

Flesh weak
weak sight

Sight see's
sight by faith

faith speaks
faith marches

Marches slower
marches with pace

Pace is slower
pace placed timing

The Doorway To Dreams

"I open the door and cross the threshold of imagination"

                                                          Here
                                                         Inside
                                                       I can see
                                                 Untamed beauty
A place of true hope and of perfect peace
A wondrous world where love conquers the hate
                                                    Refuge is found

Rhyme
is not
the be-all
and the end-all –
the cadence supersedes, mellifluous.
Counting syllables, as superfluous
as the vowels
contained in
the word
queue.
Sounds
in chants
we danced to
before writing –
morae have primacy over meaning.
Rhythm takes precedence, despite your leaning.
And forced rhymes jar:
him and dim
do not
rhyme!
Rules
are made
to askew
and be broken:
double dactyl*:- flib-ber-ti-gib-bet-ing
Defending contests fiercely --- gibbeting.
Breaking your head
to conform
to design,
rhyme.
Puns,
blasé
efforts, but
double entendres,
sexual innuendo in your face.
As some scribbling can at times be quite base,
persecution
should never
stymie
flow.

flibbertigibbet: (n) a frivolous, flighty, or excessively talkative person.

FUN FACT
Euclid of Alexandria (Mid-4th century BC—Mid-3rd century BC), the great Classical mathematician, believed that the numbers 1, 2, 3 & 4 must have some mystical significance because their sum total is 10—ten was thought to be a number of power. He called this relationship a tetractys.

Ray Stebbing based his poetic form, Tetractys, on this. No spaces between each stanza and the poem is presented in line with the left-hand margin (or it might be centred) - either way, it would visually give the design of a triangle.

As she was walking to a brand new school,
              four strange men walked
                      with just her.
                        She didn't
                           know
                            why;
                          but she
                         had to be
                   so brave; showing
much courage, with one step after the next.

* The Problem We All Live With is a 1964 painting by Norman Rockwell. It is considered an iconic image of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. It depicts Ruby Bridges, a six-year-old African-American girl, on her way to William Frantz Elementary School, an all-white public school, on November 14, 1960, during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis. Because of threats of violence against her, she is escorted by four deputy U.S. marshals; the painting is framed so that the marshals' heads are cropped at the shoulders. On the wall behind her are written the racial slur "" and the letters "KKK"; a smashed and splattered tomato thrown against the wall is also visible. The white protesters are not visible, as the viewer is looking at the scene from their point of view. The painting is oil on canvas and measures 36 inches (91 cm) high by 58 inches (150 cm) wide.

Me and You

When
                                                      I'm close
                                                    and my heart
                                                  starts beating so
fast that the world around stops for just you.
The surroundings are all blurry and far,
                                                    but your smile
                                                     and your lips
                                                        pulls me
                                                          close.
                                                           Each
                                                        new day
                                                         nothing
                                                   but completed
dreams and the begining of bright new ones
From the sun to the moon my life flows sweet
                                                with warm passion
                                                      and tender
                                                         love for
                                                             you.

Just Free

Beautiful stranger how do you do
Do you really excised
As I step out of the door
With the music that carries me out of the door
 Carries me though the day
Your intone with the tone
Blood I don’t know what you’re running from
Is it the mud that covers your new 42s
Running flushing
Mashing though your airways
You’re with the speakers
Airways going to keep you sweating
I don’t know what your running from
You just keep running and running away
This is battles of the airways and your mind
You just can’t get enough of me
Your mind can find that grind to fly bind to solar wind
You’re running on solar
 your airway has bloomed
Mind stops blind to what your running from
YOU’RE FREE at this time
And you keep running and running away
Mind is blank with eyes fixed on your goal
Like a rolling stone as you stroll through your own intersection
Cloud 9
Were your worries and sorrys have no more hurry
Scurry with your goal as you legs are in full transition with motion
But yet your mind carries you to the finish
Never stop till the end
As you will never mend to the music
As your nurture shapes your nature
Written with endless possibility’s
Keep running in rain or snow
Or you are not moving
or hiding like a butterfly
