Winds
raged as
fires glowed in
small frowzy shacks
that strange Georgia eve an angel was born.

The sky proclaimed that lives would re-arrange;
with Joy’s first cry,
the tempest
changed to
calm.

Warm
Zephyr -
spring magic -
arrived with Joy.
Her laughter was kindling for hearth and home.

No galas in her future ; she was poor.
Never frowning,
Joy would flash
diamond
smiles.

Her
Mama
sewed flounces
on hand-me-downs,
which Joy wore with glee, celebrating life.

As Papa played his guitar for them all,
Joy danced and twirled.
Humdrum fled
in her
stead.

Fair,
yellow-
haired; slender
like sassafras,
this sunny lass gladdened all of the town.

Humankind exists that we might have joy.
Those touched by that
sweet angel
all learned
this.

Joy
expelled
gloom, giving
her cheer to all.
Nevertheless, joy is often short-lived.

One strange spring day, a cold wind blew in. As
thunder quaked, warmth
waned, and Joy
was no
more.

                                              memories
                                        they are countless
                        there was a warm room in her heart for all
                               kitchen is the first room I envision
                                        with my eyes closed
                                           hers soft hands
                                            through smell
                                                  love

From my inner soul....

-----------Elementary Love----------

Fate
knew best,
as fingers
intertwined souls
weaving…bringing elements together

A patch of soil, a whisper in the wind
a blackened storm,
wish ablaze--
finding
love

~***~

Earth
embraced
slumbered seed
nurturing it
making room for it, and letting it grow

Through the years, this tree stood steadfast…solid
rooted deeply
yet pliant,
humbly
strong

Air
carries
tall tree’s wish
soars, touches stars
that whisper to the Heavens, blow kisses

Leaves dance, flirt with breeze in constant motion
seasons fly on,
lives pass by,
granted
wish

Rain
water:
a blessing,
tree soaks it in
never drowning, drinking in happiness

Its wood sails in the sea of memories,
waves then crash in
until it
reaches
shore

Flames
burn free,
fire licks...feels,
ravages wood.
Tree’s ultimate sacrifice, exhausted

Glowing embers now remain, gives soft light
just the right heat,
warming souls
that need
it

~***~

He
was that
awesome tree.
He always said,
"You are elementary in my life."

It is only now that I understand…
I was his Earth.
Air. Water.
Fire--Light.
Love.

The Chilly Blowing Gale

I'm standing by the splashing rocks of the roaring ocean
with a cold face as if I was standing in wintry freezing rain;
it's the middle of sunny May and the chilly blowing gale
turns me into a hand-rubbing dude very rigid and pale.

Tired of being behind a screen where people chat,
I get angry reading a revengeful, lewd comment;
social media has become a dangerous battlefield
for thugs, where opinions are sarcastically shared.

A slowly-walking elderly lady, not wrinkly and crone,
is robbed by a scrawny teen with a stylish cowboy walk;
he runs towards the beach harbored by a wall of stone;
then poses a minute to stuff something in his long sock.

The knocked-down lady yelled at the kid known as Sam;
and being nearby, I quickly ran and volunteered to help,
" Thank you, young man...I can't move my bruised leg."
I assure her it's not broken, " You'll be alright, mam! "

" Please allow me to escort you safely home. "
The frail lady nodded as we started walking and talking;
I felt her shivering hand struggling to grab mine...
grateful for the human kindness she had been seeking.

Holding Back Tears

Some
hold back
their tears due
to inner fears.
Knowing their life is bad, will make all sad.
Thinking this, they always smile.They wear mask.
No one can make
out from their
face they're
sad.

If
they try
to resolve
their problem by
sharing, speaking about it, it might end.
Often misunderstandings cause anguish,
talking straight from
heart can bring
peace and
joy.

Don't
hold back
tears, try to
eliminate
them. Find the root cause of tears, change yourself.
~~~
Desires, expectations, attachment cause
pain, tears. Remove
them once for
all from
life.
The
root cause
of tears are
negative thoughts,
with a mere change of mind tears can be stopped.
