Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth
Oh precious Hyacinth, in my eyes a jewel
In front of your radiance, my knees fell
You're like a glistening pearl in a virgin shell
I am enamored by your enthralling spell
Listen everyone to Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth!
Oh King of Sparta, you bear the tastiest fruit
On the land he is the handsomest youth
This is for everyone a crystal clear truth
That's why in my heart the arrows of Eros shoot
Listen everyone to Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth!
Oh precious Hyacinth, you have equaled the glamour of a god
Your face is fairer than any mortal lad
Your muscles are firmer than any man had
Because of such beauty, you make me feel glad
Listen everyone to Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth!
Oh King of Olympus, let me have this seductive mortal
For him my godly being turned carnal
The appeal of his flesh is oddly unusual
I want him to be mine for time eternal
Listen everyone to Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth!
Oh precious Hyacinth, under my wings you'll never fall
Come to the West Wind's most desperate call
To you I'll reserve the prettiest room in my hall
The most romantic & blissful haven for all
Listen everyone to Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth!
Oh deities & humans, grant me this costly man
Boreas, Notus, Eurus, bring me this heavenly Spartan
Let our powerful Anemoi bequeath him from his clan
Turn him over to the Western Wind, his greatest fan!
Listen everyone to Zephyrus' Serenade for Hyacinth!

*Hopelessly Immortal Collection
When the president said ‘misunderestimated’
Everybody wondered, ‘was he ever educated’
But I forgive him that, for the thing that makes me ‘EEK!’
Is the mad proliferation of Corporation Speak…
For thirteen years a desk paid my rent
As I gave a hundred and ten percent
While progress chasing, the big knobs suggested
I could perhaps be more invested
They said action that
And try blue sky thinking
Let’s square the circle
Cos floating ain’t sinking
So pick it up and run with it
But bring it to the table
And hit the ground running
Don’t smoke in the stable
Scare the ghost
Feel the commotion
Peel the onion
Boil the ocean
If you’re out of the loop
Go punch the puppy
We’ll take it on board
(While I punch the yuppie)
So here’s the game changer
Think outside the box
We need joined up thinking
Heads up, shoot the fox
It’s a no brainer, for it’s got legs
The tastiest coffee still has dregs
So find a window, bump some heads
You can’t make an omelette without cracking eggs
So let’s all sing from the same hymn sheet
For we live in a world full of corporate speak
The croissant
The croissant sits there, urging you to eat,
But never a challenge would you ever wish to meet.
It is a perfect shape, that will be sadly be demolished,
As you make the first incision, it’s construction is abolished.
It is the messiest food, you will ever choose to eat,
Keeping things tidy, is an impossible feat,
And there are far more bits, spread around the table,
Than to reconstruct the croissant, if you were ever able!!
Everyone is staring with the utmost, utter disgust,
As if eating a croissant, free of mess, is a absolute must.
To make things worse, I’ve got to spread, the butter and the jam,
But now with greasy fingers, opening the jar, is not something that I can!!
If I ever see a croissant, when I’m ordering a tea,
I might opt for a scone, between you and me,
The croissant is the tastiest, with jam it is a must
But the thought of all the mess means I’m not really that fussed.
Virtual peace is a tempest
Filter flipped image betrays
Surreal people can tempt us
Validity is a mirrored maze
Fake befriends us flimsily
Roller coaster emotion cued
Midday in minutes celebrity
A million likes acrewed
Instagram's grimy agenda -
Tempting tid bits to imbibe
Sponsor is content moulder
Trends with which to abide
Facile images wrap wanting
In flashy eyesore cellophane
White smile wide so taunting
Sells prettied desires innane
Improved self hovers inticingly
Unscrupulous spruker won't refute
Product spin drips like rotisserie
Placed tastiest low hung fruit
Bamboozled by the beautiful
Venommed vast eyed viewers
Suck insta famous inflated ramble
Screen sheen sugar allures
13th August 2020
bunny wanted to host Thanksgiving and we said yes
Not realizing the tastiest food would be watercress.
Carrot soup, cabbage jelly and the lack of starch or bread
Meant we went home ready for turkey, feeling unfed.
Next time, I will host it said Slobin, the Robin.
Not him! Chickadee whispered while my head was bobb’n.
He always gets the cheapest birdseed ever found.
The squirrel couple stopped in their tracks and turned around.
Well it could be us, Mrs. Squirrel offered, if nuts do please.
The mice shuddered, for nuts were not as great as cheese.
We finally agreed to start bringing our own potluck food.
And at the next Thanksgiving we were in a better mood.
Started drinking fruit flavoured water now
Not the tastiest but I'll keep trying, I vow
In the winter months I always seem to gain
Inactivity is the culprit, exercising's a pain
When I walk, it's much more like a waddle
Sure don't resemble a Givenchy model
Gonna keep on trying to recapture my youth
Downed another swig of gin and vermouth
Now everything appears to be quite copacetic
Gin works wonders as an anesthetic
So getting back to the fruit flavoured water
A lot more concerned than this guy oughta
I'm just eighty-six so why should I care
Soon I'll be trapped in my big easy chair
Cathie will feed me some ground up mush
Dentures it seems, down the toilet got flushed
But there's a silver lining just waiting for me
If I could only get rid of my gimpy old knee
Bottom line is this, sure had a great life
Came up a big winner on the roll of the dice
Started drinking fruit flavoured water now
Not the tastiest but I'll keep trying, I vow
In the winter months I always seem to gain
Inactivity is the culprit, exercising's a pain
When I walk, it's much more like a waddle
Sure don't resemble a Givenchy model
Gonna keep on trying to recapture my youth
Downed another swig of gin and vermouth
Now everything appears to be quite copacetic
Gin works wonders as an anesthetic
So getting back to the fruit flavoured water
A lot more concerned than this guy oughta
I'm almost eighty-eight so why should I care
Soon I'll be trapped in my big easy chair
Wifey will feed me some ground up mush
Dentures down the toilet gets flushed
But there's a silver lining waiting for me
If I could only get rid of my gimpy old knee
Bottom line is this, sure had a great life
Came up a big winner by a roll of the dice
You must be from Chicago, you football bears
I used to live there, they made the best chairs
Wrigley Field was way back against my lairs
They had the tastiest foods at their carnival fairs
You bears probably date easily, without cares
Have you ever climbed Field Museum’s icy stairs?
Or ridden in one of the buggies with the old mares?
I bet if you scared people, there would be stares.
Magnificent Mile this year is full of hares.
Easter time, but I bet they hop hard from bears.
Do you have any Valentines’ Day planning shares?
You two are one of the cutest couple pairs.
I am now going to visit my favorite shop, Claire’s.
Letting my daddy’s credit card take care of my affairs.
You have a fine day, my new friends, Jilly and Jares.
I’ll see you back in Chicago, you football bears
Sweet is equally sweet to all mortal tongues,
Choice morsels sate all men's starved pangs;
Brilliant sights of plenty charm every eye right,
And friends against foes for shinier spoils fight.
Why then do many in want of fine things stand;
Or, how come keenest mouths on gravel feed?
What alters those picky looks on life's shelves
That tell the greatest from the blandest breed?
Sheer wishful cravings for tasty bites alone,
Can't tear sumptuous meat from obtuse bone;
Nor can mere oglings turn fate's mulish thread,
That pins all sojourners on the hardened tread.
Life's fortunate farers got loads of apt swag:
Maybe just a weird tooth for plaintive rhyme,
Or a bankrupt itching to benefit others' souls;
Artful ploys to outshine the sly guiles of dime.
Prized strokes of luck eschew the clinical type,
And smile on stony folks immune to their hype.
She is someone who has been so quiet all the time,
That ray shell is as sweet as this tastiest slime.
She has the gift of gab that truly stands out,
That ray shell is incredibly good and has strong clout.
She is someone who can’t be immediately be noticed,
She’s well reserved and proper to take all of those dissed.
Out of her shell is a young intelligent one,
That ray shell is lavishly cool and a lucky one.
Looking at her is a picture of a one ordinary girl,
That ray shell is candid and doesn’t even know how to curl.
I just discovered how excellent she is in her field,
That ray shell is a girl with dreams who is ready to build.
She is silent but talkative in some other ways,
That ray shell is sparkling in those darkest bays.
Her smile shows her very well attitude,
That ray shell is a tremendous music like a sweet etude.
