Every year, just after Christmas, I’m left with memories… Pretty paper and happy ribbons, Waiting beneath a tree, Bustle of hearts, merrily laughing, Devouring meals from hands Who sliced and kneaded, baking… Some of the tastiest cuisines. Every year, just after Christmas, I’m left with whispers… From hearts who believe, They’ve been given the greatest blessings, Gentle lights, falling softly, Surrounding hearts with beauty and peace, Dancing in the candle’s flame… Warmth that erases winter’s chill. Every year, just after Christmas, I’m left with a generous spirit, One who sees through the greed, Into the breathless hues of joyful dreams, Soothing sounds of contented hearts, Quiet kiss of a frosty moment, When the miracle, the wonder… Of Christmas settles into my soul. Every year, just after Christmas, I’m left with a serenity, a feeling, Flowing through my veins, In calming colors of grace, Reassuring me that, because of Him, This Jesus, who saved me from doom, There is a promise, Guaranteeing there is room… In heaven, with Him – Christ, who knew… Before I was born, I would know Him as Lord And, I’d give Him my heart… Proof that love has come to us, Those who believe, Those who receive… the miracle, Jesus, God’s Son – the blessing… That blessed the whole world! Every year, just after Christmas, I am reminded that He is here, Living in my heart, Giving with love that declares… With Him, His love, His light, I can know that the meaning of Christmas… And, the meaning of life itself, Is alive and well, and no one can sell… This love He gave me when He forgave me, The miracle of a love that saved me!
