Premium Member Twilight's Mumble

As daylight fades beyond the distant hill,
Dusk paints the sky in hues of soft repose.
Through swaying boughs, the birds their songs distill,
While gentle breezes dance on tippy-toes.

Lotus treads the path with a weary stride,
Her thoughts are as heavy as the fading light.
Yet with each step, her burdens seem to glide
Away, as if prepared to take their flight.

A flower, bent and worried, catches sight
Of Lotus passing by with a slowing gait.
Its petals tremble in the dimming light,
As if to share in her conflicted state.

The blossom and the woman, kindred souls,
Find solace in their shared anxiety.
As twilight deepens, nature takes control,
Embracing both in sweet serenity.

In the evening's hush, a transformation blooms,
The flower straightens, and Lotus' spirit lifts.
The worried stem no longer bends in the gloom,
As peace becomes the night's most precious gift.

Together in the gloaming, fears subside,
A fresh perspective blossoms with the stars.
The day's concerns, once seemingly amplified,
Now fade like distant, long-forgotten scars.

Twisting Road

Soft black leather
	tight formfitting
curving about you
	holding you firm

padded leather wheel
	vibrating lightly
is slightly damp hands
	in tight corner turns

clutch pedal in
	right hand shifter grasps
quick sharp throw
	going down

eyes judge the line
	fitting the curves flow
arcing down in
	driving faster out

quick sharp chirping
	rubber on asphalt slips
adrenaline thrills through
	breaths hard gasped

gravity presses back
	pedal smoothly press down
wheel easing off
	line straightens out

engine roar grows deep
	sharply racing now
curving softly out
	next line seen ahead

Premium Member Get a Tickle On

"Let's get a tickle on!" Sounds from his lips.
He mischievously wiggles those fingertips.

"Her tickle-flex has been found!"
Now she's rolling on the ground.

She tucks her knees up to her chest
To resist him at her best.

Her laughter takes away her strength.
He straightens her to her full length.

Shoulders, ribs, ankles, knees
He won't stop til he hears her pleas!

He chuckles. He rises. He takes her hand
And pulls her up to help her stand.

He turns and starts to walk away.
She tugs him back without delay.

She grips his calves and starts her tease
With rhythmic rubs and the odd squeeze.

He can't escape flat on his face.
His untamed laughter fills their space.

Now he's the one who roars and begs
For the freedom of his legs.

She stops. They exhale a restful sigh,
Smiling, facing eye to eye.

"Let's get a tickle on!" She mocks in jest.
"Just wait til next time little pest."

Witticisms
By: Tom

If a man tell an untruth today in jest,
And straightens it up on the morrow,
Does it yet remain a lie?

The witness that I show to another,
Either empowers positive change or reinforces a negative attitude.

I don’t have all the answers I need in life,
Just the man who does!

If the road you travel had no chug holes,
How often would you give God a thought?

All feel,
That having love for their fellow man is a good thing,
Some feel especially if that man can be of help.

I never fully learned the value of money
Until I discovered my life could be rich with or without it.
Wealth controls me, or I control it.

The greatest thing man can ever accomplish,
Is to plant the seed that leads another to know the Lord;

It is hard to comprehend that when we get forgiveness
God remembers our past transgressions no more.
They’re removed as far as the east is from the west.
God forgives and forgets, while carnal man forgives but remembers.

Premium Member HEART ENABLED TO WALK WITH GOD

January 2 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on Genesis 4-5

Key Verse - Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

HEART ENABLED TO WALK WITH GOD

God enables us to walk with Him by His empowerment
As He gears our heart toward fruitful Christianity with faith’s enlightenment
Surely enabling us to win souls and bring them to His salvation settlement
While we cooperate willingly in discipleship-engagement.

God enables us to walk with Him by His grace
As He upholds our heart toward the Great Commission midst prayer-brace
Surely encouraging us to serve Him with sincere exultant praise
While we persist along our designated ministry-track race.

God enables us to walk with Him by His authority
As He propels our heart toward His direction of Bible studies’ effectuality
Surely illumining us to learn from His truths for prosperous spirituality
While we apply principles of stewardship’s productivity.

God enables us to walk with Him by His instruction
As He straightens our heart toward His standard of character-transformation
Surely exhorting us to disciple others with His Scriptural education
While we present Christ-like example through our dedication.

God enables us to walk with Him by His mercy
As He brings our heart toward His presence of sweet fellowship’s consistency
Surely nurturing us to delight in His nourishing clemency
While we beseech Him for constant revival’s fervency.

God enables us to walk with Him by His command
As He pulls us toward His deliverance of eternal life’s assured stand
Surely enjoining us to proclaim His love and peace, joyously grand
While we rescue sinners from guilt-penalty’s tormenting demand.

God enables us to walk with Him by His victory
As He drives our heart toward His sacrifice of blessed kindness at Calvary
Surely energizing us to follow His leadership for His glory
While we testify of His compassion in sharing the Gospel story.

To The Other Side

Out of the blue on this summer day
Richie asks me if I want to swim with him across the lake
Sure what the hell and that is that
I will match the older boy’s vim and whim
Two strong boys armored with Nietzsche arrogance and Tolkien muscle

Armada of scarecrows and wrists assemble on Wally’s manmade beach
To accompany us on the two-and-a-half-mile odyssey
Across the cold and chop of wind

Dad hunches over a leaky rowboat
In hand-to-hand combat with splintered creaky oars
Dennis kneels on a music sheet paddle board
Pink baton at his bearded black throat

In we go
A wave and grin goodbye to Wally’s beautiful daughter Wendy
Richie to Wally’s wonderous wife Janet
And to our moms’ arms crossed up on the tennis court hill

For hours little did we know

Dad says Bobby! Sarah’s coming up underneath you ha ha
Richie separates and heads north not east like a slashing madman
Hey Hey yells Dennis his spotter

Imagine myself a turtle with hot sun egg frying on its back in the black water
Begin to feel the razor teeth of pike at my toes
Biting them off one by one
I stop and panic thrash and splash them away give them my toenails

Richie straightens out far behind me

Weight of the bloated world holding me up
Spaceship in orbit bellied against the Earth

Halfway across
I assume
I can only tell by the guess of cumulus clouds
My knees shoulders neck need an oiled wrench to complete each heave and rotation
Rust and barnacles growing on me

Finally I pass over the turquoise drop off of the other side
Pink mustard to my sutured eyelids
Line of shore the trees a quarter mile ahead

I think dad yells good enough good enough
Salvages me in with what chattering bones remain retrievable
Face gone
Snaps my arms and legs to the rowboat’s aluminum bench
Cannot bend this brass statue to a sitting position

Upside down the only way I can fit in
For the long trip back within my dad’s singing voice

Richie crawls hands and knees up on that beach
Holds its sand in his hands lets it sift through as a time glass
Never lets me forget that

I finished and you did not but we won’t tell the shimmering women
When and if
You the brother I never had and I get back

Teeth left like unrecovered treasure at the bottom of Torch Lake.

Premium Member Ol' Jimmy Jam Jones

Ol' Jimmy Jam Jones
he's got noodles for bones
it don't bother him none
he just hums to the strum
of a tune, just for fun
that plays quite loudly
in his old ear drum.

Yep, he's got poor jelly legs
they whip and wobble all day
but Jimmy Jam, he don't quiver
or cry or get bitter
'cuz he knows that he's got
a mighty long liver!

Jimmy Jam's got long toenails, too
so his feet stick like glue
though at times he gets stuck
sure as heck gets in a rut
and his tongue starts to cluck.

When he straightens his back
Jimmy Jam's dentures clack
'cuz his spine is in pain
but he don't ever complain
like some folks may claim.

Yes, sir, Jimmy Jam, he's right sweet
greets ever' one that he meets
as he wobbles down the street
and smiles, at times with no teeth.

That's ol' Jimmy Jam Jones
who's got noodles for bones.

Premium Member Orphaned Poet

No parents, no brothers, no sister, no thing,
He’s alone with no place and no home,
Walking along the path to nowhere,
Abandoned to wander and roam,

Longing for the things the other folks say,
To the words of love they each share,
To the sounds of belonging that eludes his whole life,
Leaving him full of despair,

So, he picks himself up, focuses his mind,
Straightens the shoes on his feet,
Then keeps on his walk from one town to the next,
Walking the line on the street,

And he survives on ideas from his heart every day,
He survives with a strike off the flint,
He survives with the poems he recites in his mind,
Leaving a magic footprint.

Premium Member HEART THAT BUILDS LIVES UNTO GOD

May 22 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on Ezra 4-7

Key Verse – Ezra 4:3 But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

HEART THAT BUILDS LIVES UNTO GOD

Our heart builds lives unto God against sins
With His holiness that divinely wins
While we repent from our wickedness midst worldliness dins
And seek His forgiveness from His mercy-bins.

Our heart builds lives unto God against transgressions
With His grace that girds against abominations
While we acknowledge our negative reactions
And cling to His pardon along His instructions.

Our heart builds lives unto God against selfishness
With His goodness that corrects self-exalting humbleness
While we forsake our self-righteousness
And hide in His love that rebukes enviousness.

Our heart builds lives unto God against arrogance
With His meekness that subdues pride’s endurance
While we surrender our vain craving for earthly extravagance
And abide in His satisfaction of heavenly assurance.

Our heart builds lives unto God against iniquities
With His discipline that straightens us against crookedness
While we submit our doubts and uncertainties
And trust His promises of perfection-securities.

Our heart builds lives unto God against disobedience
With His help that transforms from rebellion-insurgence
While we turn to Him from our useless expedience
And follow His ways through His caring diligence.

Our heart builds lives unto God against error-caused impairment
With His miracle that performs divine achievement
While we overcome our lack of ministry involvement
And fulfill His will through His Scriptural settlement.
