Oh, how much I wish...
To be infinite like the space
To not let the frets of life
fetter my freewill
To flap my wings of fantasy and fly high
To feel the blissful blue
and whisper a secret to the sky
To become the sun atleast for one day
shining bright with special kind of rays
rays that spread messages of peace
to every living being they touch
To be free atleast for one day
from the daily hassles of life
To allow my mind to meander
through unknown locations
To be able to step onto
all those places,
to where, like flamingos,
my thoughts migrate
To touch the soils of the lands I reach
To speak in their native tongues
and listen to their untold stories
... to be unbound

Galaxies and countless sand -
so much to misunderstand.
You're more than a simple dot
in a whimsical plot twist.
Free will in every circumstance,
with each fascinating consequence,
is as purposeful as planned.
Altered winds at God's command.
Still, we don't know the secret half
of the complex aftermath,
and fail to fully understand
how we're still sustained to live,
lungs continuing to lift.
Grace extends to everyone,
sinners sprinkled with the sun.
Megaphone and microscope,
Son's arms reaching out in hope.
Connecting through mystifying prayer,
I feel your heart; God placed it there.
How extravagant to share
just a moment's precious pulse,
a fraction of a fragment of the whole.
This force can touch a single soul,
like the stearing wind of waves,
shifting shapes in continents.
Changing hearts are imminent
by the power of the Maker's hand,
who formed countless glorious galaxies
and granules of shifting sand.

She was my virtual secret lover
who staked a claim on me; it was her choice.
Enshrouded in intense obscurity
I never saw her face or heard her voice.
She spoke to me in silent words of yearning
inscribed in coloured ink on fragrant notes
attached to each a petal that gave meaning
to the emotions that adorned her quotes.
A longer letter came one autumn evening;
It left me trembling and with misty eyes.
With ailing strength she begged for love, forgiveness.
Her final words still echo her goodbye.
Attached there were two orange blossom petals
a sign of never ending bond of love,
now a treasured memory pressed for time eternal
of my virtual secret lover watching from above.

Contest: Make Their Jaws Drop

To her I wanna give flowers
I want to surprise her with the most expensive necklace
I desire to take her out for a vacation in Miami
She absolutely wants to see me
Getting the most romantic dinner recipes
Irresistible desserts of chocolate mousse
She wants us to have a memorable Valentine's Day
Absolute Valentine's madness.
Last Valentine I plucked some rose flowers
At Anyang' Nyong'o Botanical Gardens
And wrapped them in a plastic transparent paper
I had not enough to buy an expensive necklace
But at least I afforded one
The dinner recipes reflected the significance of the day
Red wine with white meat at Kempinski
That's the injection she needed for the day
And of course I topped up her bank account
What else can one offer on such a day?
To do all these I stabbed my academics
And went ahead to use the school fees
Absolute Valentine's madness.
At night she was trending in the media
On every man's status and page
A guy declaring her as the love of his life
Another appreciating God for creating her on a Monday
When He had strength and all the zeal
With a secret account I saw her post a lad
As the pillar in her life and all she had
And I was blocked from viewing
Absolute Valentine's madness.
Romantic love on a Valentine's Day is absolute madness
My conclusion and opinion
It pricks like thorn and pinches so hard
Valentine's day, absolute madness!

If I kissed you in the morning would you stay
or like the mist here in the garden
would you slowly fade away,
and, if the sunlight warmed your lonely brow
and made you smile,
would you stay here by my side
and walk with me a while?
There's a blushing glow of roses,
a rouge upon your cheeks and
a hint of mellow sadness in your eyes
and a heart that wants to trust
in my love...
I wish I knew
the secret to your love
I wish I knew...I wish I knew
Will you wander here with me
let's just share the day
and, who knows, perhaps
we'll find our way.
If I kissed you in the morning
would you stay
or like the mist here in the garden
would you slowly fade away
~ or would you stay...
My ideas are in hiding
Afraid of the secret police
For they are in Kansas City
My poems are not wanting to goosestep
I hear glass breaking
It does not wake me up at first
But when it does I am in Minneapolis
And my poem is standing on a man’s neck
I am screaming for it to get off
He is yelling that he cannot breathe.
Terror infiltrates me as I realize I am paralyzed.
I can hear my heartbeat; double-time now.
My ideas are in a fetal position, lying under benches.
Visualizing concentration camps
Oh, excuse ME! Internment camps.
Mexican children being torn from their mother’s arms.
Crying and wailing. Cages. Dirty rotten government men.
My poems are turning themselves into stories.
I am no help. I am paralyzed. Cannot stop the thoughts though.
Swastikas are swirling around which is not comfortable.
Now the Klan! Are you kidding?
I am being marched out by chicken shi.....white hooders.
My writing is holding its breath, lying in wait
Thinking I will return. I may never be the same.
This new development has me buckling at my knees.
Someone cracks me across them with a whip.
Someone speaks Russian at me.
Craph! I barely know English.
That’s a good one my muse says, making a note.
I try to wake up, but there is someone sitting on my neck.
I cannot breathe.
I struggle,
I scream
Nothing comes out.
My worst nightmare, and of course it is three a.m.
The time I always have to go to the bathroom.
Something big is sitting on my neck and my head.
I give up, not caring about anything except breathing now.
It’s the Covid 19, my muse says. We are obsessed with it
I am so irritated, for it might not be my muse.
It might be another personality; I have plenty of them.
I sit quietly, waiting for the urge to write to pass.
Unfortunately, it never does.
Forget all of the negatives things I’ve said
You are embedded in my heart and tattooed in my head
The very first time we made sweet love
Is just one of the epic episodes I’m thinking of
Black is your heart, but all the while
You are as good as they come and you make me smile
Even though you’re labeled as a thug
Your love is my high and
I get a buzz
I have tried my best to push you away
But, you have so much charisma, I can’t help but stay
I am possessed and obsessed to my very depths
Hopping off this rollercoaster now will only make me depressed
Our fun has just begun
Our love has no color or no age
These words are united with my mind
Because life is all a stage
As I materialize and bring alive our page
Eternally we soar through time
Thinking about your loving disposition
Weighs heavily on my mind
I break out in a cold sweat
Thoughts as pure as a dove
But they still get me all wet
We’re not lust, we’re pure love
I remember the first time
You gave me that single rose
As a tear dropped my eye
I had sniffles in my nose
Words suspended, then my heart froze
We shared a secret,
but I should’ve known
The last day I regret, I knew you was gone
I wanted to kiss you long and tender
But now I am utterly alone
Every time that I come home I hold dear thoughts of your kiss
I hug my pillow tightly
As your memory sinks deeper into the abyss......
I let lust lead.
So when I speak on this,
I’m not guessing.
I’m not judging.
I know what it does.
It rips your heart.
Messes up your mind.
Twists how you see people
how you see yourself.
It cages you.
Makes you smile in public
but cry in secret.
Makes you feel too dirty for grace.
Too broken for mercy.
Too far for forgiveness.
And the worst part?
It makes you think God’s done with you.
And truth is — He should be.
But He’s not.
Because Jesus didn’t die for the cleaned-up version of you
He died for the broken one.
The ashamed one.
The addict.
The liar.
The boy with secrets.
The girl with regrets.
You can’t delete demons with a filter.
You can’t kill sin by willpower.
You can’t win this war by fighting flesh with flesh.
You need the Spirit.
You need God.
I tried everything.
Fasted. Blocked sites. Prayed.
Deleted apps. Made promises.
And still fell.
Until the Holy Spirit whispered:
"You don't get free by pretending you're not bound.
You get free by bringing it to the light."
So I did.
I confessed.
Not to impress.
But to survive.
To finally live.
And you know what?
God didn’t cancel me.
He covered me.
He didn’t shame me.
He saved me.
No lightning.
No thunder.
Just quiet conviction
and loud mercy.
Now, I don’t boast in my strength.
Because it wasn’t me.
It was always God.
Every time I said, “I can’t,”
He whispered, “I can.”
Every time I fell,
His grace picked me up again.
I still fight
but now I fight from victory, not for it.
I’m not perfect
but I’m free.
And I write this for you.
Yes, you.
If you’re stuck in ****,
trapped in shame,
thinking it’s too late
It’s not.
Jesus didn’t just die to save you from hell.
He died to save you from this.
This secret sin.
This silent prison.
This hidden addiction.
So bring it to Him.
Say it out loud.
Let the light in.
Because when you confess,
He doesn’t walk away
He walks in.
He breaks chains.
He still does.
And I am living proof.
So let the world hear this:
My little secret sin is now exposed
not to shame me,
but to free someone else.
Because if He did it for me,
He can do it for you.
Let the world hear.
Let the broken repent.
Let the captives run free.
Let the light shine in the darkest room.
This is not weakness.
This is freedom.
This is Jesus.
And He is still breaking chains.
The feel of a blanket sends chills,
Thru my body as if,
I am walking over their grave.
I heard the sound,
From the background.
It grabbed my soul and,
It stopped me cold.
In that split second,
It sends fear throughout your body.
That sound, I remember it,
It brings nothing but evil and death.
I saw them before she did,
Bodies, Blood, gunfire.
The lady in the blanket shop in Korea,
She saw my face and,
Within a flash, we were in a secret safe room.
She saved our lives that day.
My hero was a lady in the blanket shop,
In Seoul, Korea.
On that day 20,000 students,
Revolted and killed hundreds.
Why do you go through the things you do?
Does some strange spirit have some claim on you?
It’s gotta be love
It’s gotta be love
How are you standing still on those coals?
Doesn’t the pain just burn through the soles?
It’s gotta be love
It’s gotta be love
A promise of gold at the end of the rainbow
A lighthouse’s glow in a deep, dark ocean
Must be somethin’ that keeps us sustained-o
That keeps our sad hearts full of devotion
Yeah, it’s gotta be love
How do you deal with that man of yours?
He’s got you black-and-blue on all fours –
It’s gotta be love
It’s gotta be love
And that leathery woman who whips you in black –
What stops you from taking your dignity back?
It’s gotta be love
We are so sad and so lost
But that’s the condition
Looking for suitable partners
in times of transition
Our theories outwitted,
our muscles outmatched in submission
That’s gotta be love
Why do you settle for that drunken louse,
Who keeps you chained up and tied to that house?
It’s gotta be love
It’s gotta be love
Baby, I miss those times that we had
What’s the secret to suffering through all the bad?
It’s gotta be love
Yes, indeed
