Premium Member Day of Rain

Give me a day of rain--
a day that's gray as a pigeon's breast,
a sky that hangs still, as if holding its breath.

Inhale as a drizzle begins to form;
a fine, salted mist, like ocean spray,
that suffuses the gray with life's soft elixir.

Watch, as the mist turns over to pattering droplets,
splashing on the porch like tiny, watery missiles.

Listen from inside the glow of the kitchen
as the drops become torrents,
beating on the roof, slashing against the windowpane.

Curl in the chair,
enfolded in a knitted afghan,
head cradled in a down pillow.

Let eyelids slide closed
to the thrumming of blessed rain,
and float away on rushing rivulets
to the sea.

Premium Member Unchambered

In the chambers dying salted wounds slowly weep
looking through the keyhole beholding darkness
touching cold chilling bites teeth
snarling growls within ache an animal of pain

Fingers of ice slither over one's soul
shivering the timbers feeling worthless
grabbing out gasping for light
clutching aimlessly at straws

A godless affliction inside
empty suffering cries wishing upon a star
believing on beauty on a cold dark night
growling murmurs within oneself
whispering in voices carried on the wind

Finding comfort in sadness
a fragile presence exists in an empty vessel
moonlight the host where shadows hover
clouding judgement hides the light of the sky
smiling through clouds haunted visions
creep inside shadows fears are realized

Distorted images dead mirror images
a chilling sacrifice of blood
gripping at the heart of beauty cries
a ghost suffering reaches out
strangely guarded in nightly whispers
clothed in grey rising out of the night

A reaper's knuckle echoes heavy
on chamber's door of mansion or mausoleum
knocking down the entrance to heaven and hell
a heart attacked fever rising chills subsiding
back and forth visions delirious

Running from a nightmare to capture a dream
holding hope in fingers of the imprisoned soul
once washed away in despair's tears
a stain of belief lingered
carried along on wings of the wind

Hidden in shadows waiting to whisper
painful voices masking truth cloaking beauty
hollow thoughts burn and scar
healing as time itself passes away
peaceful slumber now overtakes inner nightmares

Under lasting moonlight the stars keep promises
wishes granted as dreams come alive
dark clouds parting the pathway home
heaven's winds sail the vessel
rising upon crystal waves of white
fleeing the chains to freedom
turning silver key opening eternity's glow
clear light beautifully blinding

Premium Member Loving Sprinkles

Tears rolling down the cheeks
mournfully sighs
falling in a deep lingering thought
Whispering inside silently
I lay a sheepskin rug of purest white
upon the ground for you

love me not ,want me not
cause your heart I don't deserve
The dripping honey from your moon
cannot preserve the smile
behind my pale pearled tears

If I could reach up
grabbing the moon smiling
confetti stars sprinkling them
all over you sweetly
If only by magic

Nor the diamond dust
from your confetti stars
can bring a twinkle to these eyes
These eyes were baptised
with too many holy lies
to ever be disguised

A soulful howl
yearning salted lips
cherishing you babe
within every single teardrop
that falls in your honor
enchanting rising waves kissing
each curl embracing fragrant beauty

I'd rather let my spirit free
to roam in fabled wonders
that always end ' let not love be'
I'd rather gaze in a nocturnal sky
with no one holding me

Cause I have loved with all I am and be
To be betrayed,to be deceived
to be the clown of gaia's destiny
and now not you or any other,no one my dear
No one will set me free

Premium Member Broken Links

a heart chained
waterfalls from the soul
wandering life's path
bleeding tears
blood has
been splattered
on loves ground
each painful beat
love me ,love me, love me

building a dam
holding back emotions
hiding feelings
for the lady
of dreams

broken pieces
of a shattered jewel
they shine no more
walking lifeless
creeping black
behind dark curtains
became a zombie
in deaths valley

in souful cries
falling cold nights
lips tasting salted tears
begs loves kiss
the sun begins shining
emotions flow within
breaking chains
feelings set free

at the crossroads bandaged
surviving hell
living again
to begin
chasing
that beautiful dream

Premium Member Silent Night

~poet at night~

I lay here in the dark all alone with my thoughts
Gazing up where the stars hang above
Solitude my best friend,
The tides reach my toes
---Inhale and exhale is how it goes
I found the most relaxing breath
My dreams at this point are all I have left
The air blows and hardens the tips on my chest
I let my mind wonder about the man I love
Dwelling over the feelings only I know of
Allowing my mind to drifts into the ocean of salted waters
Drifting away peacefully--
The waves carry poetic whispers into my ear
At last my heart broke every code coming from;
the silent windtalker

I close my eyes to feel the pain locked in my soul
Water rising up, grabbing at my free will by the hand
In comfort and solace, this night
Floating with tensions to release what I log in and log out
Wakening up to the screams of a life and its poetic eyes
Melting my heart away, the wind and its poetic cries
Lost at sea every night, waking up to the still of the night
When indeed alone---
I found myself in the arms of solitude

Cursive Consolations
David J Walker

Heartlessly pressing words into wine
Our feet are blood red from the crushing
Our heads flowing in faint rhymes

Into dry riverbeds genially growing
An ocean of poetry waiting

Waves bathe the salted bathers
On white beaches lying
Side by side naked in the sand

Sunning themselves in the afternoon
Toweling themselves of pungent prose
After the sun rose the following morning

I remember the rhyme one will say to another
Who has fallen deep into a sleep of poetic meaning

Are you listening one says
No, I’m dreaming he replays as starfish cover his eyes
Creating cursive consolations

Tortured Souls

Drudging at the foot of despondency
I dwell
floating in-between the far and the now
too tired to stand
knowing I'll be knocked back down
kicked and beaten
by my own inner beast
a feast of undue proportion
salted and dried
a fortunate misfortune

nipping at my wounds
bleeding out
failed opportunities
bringing me eternal death

for is that where my love lies in wait
with one foot planted in the darkness
the other eclipsing my moon

trust me when I whisper I want you
like a shadow needs her sun
the wind blowing off the sea
the clouds drifting away
you drifting to me

the sun will set in time
but for now
I let go of the mind
and become free

Premium Member Pearl Dreams of Rare Love

Break these chains that bind
holding in the deep ovens
blazing a fire for love.

Smiling midday moon
dressed in a baby blue sky
with sparsely scattered clouds dot.

White mother of pearl
their silver lining treasure
held soft beautiful warm babe.

In her finger beams
a light touching inside thoughts
sitting posed at three o’clock.

The moon just pops out
in kissing a golden sun
white ivory pearls smiling.

Within daylight thoughts
sweetly I pray in sunlight
shining warm all over you.

Deep ocean salted
with the bluest warmest waves
luster smiles sunshine color.

The magic tear drop
forms the silver lining bright
and cries for ivory pearls.

Alchemic water
wondrous most blue, dark and rare
lies love in Salt of the Earth.

Mermaids caress hope
encouraging happiness
makes all the more magical.

Pearl chain links in place
Neptune commands do it now
with finest gold most smiling.

Bathed best and brightest
white ivory pearls ready
for their concatenation.

Neptune’s grandeur finds
all sea creatures in awe now
abounds pearl dreams of rare love.

from the ocean’s heart and soul.

I Found You In a Dream

I found you in a dream

I found you in a dream . . .

subtly surmised
of this bed sheet warmth,
darkened skies felt,
Lost in silent hours
of a dream

A beauty unbelieved
in flowing night lace
Drinking from the fountain
of every joy I have longed
Aglow where shadows
once traced

Song birds lift
of growing branch,
new leaves in velvet green
shading marigold sighs
falling from morning glory skies,
resting upon my heart

A touch greets
dampened milk paint skin,
salted of time,
weathered in season’s charge
Coated satin emerging,
reclaiming its glisten of youth,
breathing

Whirlwinds gather,
swirls of tapestry, patterns,
floating me on
cut crystal wings a’ shimmer
Soaring into your arms,
a feeling of kite string wisps
as love takes me
to you and

. . . I write you in poetry

Good night Soupers

Assaulted Peanuts

Assaulted Peanuts

They rode across the Western Hills,
For the land of Middle Eyed Bong,
To raid the Salted Peanut Trees,
Of King Pod and his merry throng.

Who were they, this reckless band,
Dare to plunder with motley crew.
They knew not what their fate would be,
Angering the wrath, of Old Cashew.

Cashew is Sentinel of this land,
Most powerful Nut to crack.
Born and raised in the Pecan Mines,
Eyes of Steel and Walnut Black.

Renegade leader of this Gang,
Was Outlawed Percival Grimface,
Once a native of Middle Eye,
Until his assaulted Peanut disgrace.

Pod and Cashew received a snitch,
Of Percival’s imminent raid
and so, prepared their men elite,
The Special Peanut Brittle brigade.

Grimface had an informant,
A betrayer amongst his ranks,
Passed the word to King Pod’s Men,
Who were grateful and offered thanks.

The Brittle Brigade were fighting men,
No one could take them down,
May contain some traces of Nut,
Emblazoned above the Town.

The attack was planned for Midnight,
On the Thirty-Third of July.
A new Moon was clearly visible,
Under a cloudy dark blue sky.

On the edge of town, they did dismount,
To make ready for their swag,
In expectation of stealing Salties
and Take-away in a plastic bag.

The Peanut Trees were just to hand,
When Cashew shouted, GO MEN GO.
Percival walked into an ambush,
He was struck underneath, down below.

No match for King Pod’s Brittle Men,
Who had muscle and sling shot bricks.
Grimface and his Gang, outwitted,
Only Conkers and pointy sticks.

They never saw it coming,
No protection from Peanut shells,
Hastily retreating under fire,
Their pain and ear-piercing yells.

Those Renegades had been dispatched
Back from whence they came,
Never to return to Middle Eyed Bong,
In fear; of getting more, of the same.

If there’s a moral to this story,
Of which I seriously doubt,
Buy your own Salted Peanuts,
Else your villainy will find you out
