As noses go, I’d say mine is okay
if it is viewed by someone from the front.
But if you look at it another way,
it’s not so wonderful; let me be blunt.
My nose is long, and if you’re in a place
where other women are along with me,
take note of how my nose fits on my face.
Sideways it could be the longest you’ll see.
.
Imagine please, if you will, a Roman nose,
which means a nose that is a little bent.
A nicer-sounding word for it I suppose
is “aquiline.” But what by that is meant?
For me, the word “aquiline” sounded chic.
But then I looked it up and got a shock.
I learned it means shaped like an eagle’s beak,
which is also larger than that of a hawk.
What in my DNA presupposes
that I have Italian blood, which I have not?
Most of my sisters have short, cute noses.
Why is it that a Roman nose I got?
Few great actresses have a nose like mine,
but I can think of one whose look is great.
Barbara Streisand – is her nose divine?
That’s a nose folks either love or hate!
That bump - that famous bump! Streisand never
had plastic surgery to make it small.
My role model is she. I endeavor
to love my nose. It stands out – after all!
In school when I was being raised
the role models who then were praised
were the American icons—
George Washington, “I cannot tell a lie”
Honest Abe, a straight-shooting kind of guy
Later we heard Jimmy Carter testify
“I’ll never tell a lie …”
For my generation and prior
they raised the bar higher
Honesty was the best policy
That was then
This is now …
When caught in a lie
deny
When accusations resound
double down
When proof’s presented
get inventive
When they continue to confront
cry witch-hunt
When they accuse you of a crime
deflect each time
When they bring more claims
call them demeaning names
over and over
and over and
over and over
and over again
Nothing to lose
You may even win …
But lying is still a sin
Best to extol the role model
who always gets it right
(then and now)
Jesus — ‘The way, the truth, the life!’

John 14:6. Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." —NWT Study Bible
To my mother
From perspective of a son
How could I forget
the pain she took for me,
Bringing me into this world
to savour life in glee,
Fed on her blood and milk
as I opened my eyes,
Her heavenly smile erased
my tears and intense cry,
Nurtured with selfless love
I was no more a boy,
She is still my dream girl
though her youth has passed by,
Gracious grey hair
maturity of thoughts,
We recall fun and giggles
on many funny plots,
She knows all my wants
and every moment I sigh,
Strong emotional bond
always been my pride,
Her one touch
and mountains can move,
Possible without wings
flight she can prove,
Salute to all women
as I grow into a man,
Mother, the procreator
His best creative plan,
X of her strength I inherit
in my each cell,
My role model she is
inspires me to excel!

For contest of Silent one
Men only
Gender sensitive contest ?
Entered for Judy's "Tell us about your mother" contest
It was written from perspective of a son since Silent one's contest was only for men, but I was tempted to enter, although I was not considered.

My Mother
Sometimes I sense my mother
When I walk into a room
Lily of the Valley lingers
Her favourite perfume
I really wish she was still here
So I could apologize
For all the many times
When we didn't see eye to eye
I had so much troubling me
But I chose to keep it in
Now I sit and ponder
On how different things could have been
I hated seeing her in pain
It was all beyond my control
I hope that she passed knowing
I loved her with my heart and soul
I'm putting down on paper
What I could not say aloud
I hope that if she were still here
I would make her proud
Mere words can not express
Just how much I regret
Losing my mum, my role model,
Who I never will forget
On the 17th of September
Thats the day you grew your wings,
And now all we have left
Is our beautiful memories and those sentimental things.
It broke our hearts but surely made us stronger,
As we all know the saying its absence that makes the heart grow fonder.
We got through it all, all as one but today's the day you left us fifteen years on.
Pain in our hearts,
tears down our face,
There is no one on this planet
that could ever take your place.
Your one in a million with that heart of gold, I wish I could of held you till the day you turned old.
My mother, my role model, my number one queen.
You sure was the most beautiful women this world had ever seen.
Who Am I To You?
Am I just a stranger?
An online lover or a nobody
That once who passes by
In a lifetime of your stream ?
Maybe a poet?
A woman only good in sweet words.
Easily fooled by his own feelings,
And by the world that often says
I am just another plaything?
A con artist? A pervert? A toy? Or
Perhaps, one of your movie character
That portrays your imagination
In a stage play of fantasy and dreams?
I am not perfect.
This is reality.
I am not a role model.
I have lapses and flaws.
I am not the woman of your past.
I can't look like her or be like that.
I am not whole, I am also broken
And still have issues of my own .
But the truth is, all of us
Needs to be loved and trying to love
In one way or another, our denials
That we keep telling ourselves
Will be defined by time and memories,
If we're truly happy of being alone.
If not, then tell me
Who am I to you?
Please tell me what we have
Is true, before I go...

Who You Are To Me?
I find myself in thy manger
You are a modern Peabody
Whose pen aids to dye
My board with awesome dream
You are more than a poet!
The one out of all beautiful birds
That freely flies around the earth's ceiling
Unlike the caged birds with less ways
Timely been abating
The twist, the challenge, the fruit outpour
Enough pieces crushing like a constrictor
Holding unto a great aspiration
Flowing through grace so agleam
I am not only for prospect
This may be false in its seeming triviality
I am not a mollycoddle
Yet have respect for tight clause
You become of me, an enthusiast
With keen interest not eyeing to scat
Even when all of it is token
Bountiful harvest are from vial seeds, sown
Nevertheless, in my fuss
I will always be the real dove
And not act up for trials
Abandoned on shelves
The much ado about plight in diaries
Crying for reading to be well known
Life is short, let it be
Less to the review
More to life shouldn't really be halve
Totality is key to overlook every foe
You are who you are
Keep doing what you know best
Someday, you will be the shining star
Silent helpers locate what resisters detest
Shine on.........

Our Golden Times During PDu30
Behold the One with the Aries, the Ward of Santa Muerte
Our 16th President voted by 16 million Filipinos this 2016
The 1st President from Mindanao from being Mayor of Davao…Duterte!
He is One with MiJoRdGr (Miriam, Jojo, Rody, Grace)
The 4 Opposition Presidentiables who defeated Mar Roxas
And brought Liberal Party its great disgrace!
The One with the Aries from the Land with War
The Land of Promise – feared by typhoons, but filled with goons
So from her came a Liberator among MiJoRdGr!
That this One should war with our nation's greatest horrors
-Drug Lords, Liberals, Treasoners, Criminals & Terrorists-
These powerful entities to our history are desecrators!
So by being one with lawmakers, law enforcers & lawful people
By the overwhelming power of the Supermajority
Our country's greatest terrors…Du30 shall conquer them all!
But first, he must defeat his detractors – Leila, Leni & Trillanes
These triple crooks who want to topple the government
Are also said to be conspiring with EU, UN & US!
Yet with Trump's triumph, US is no longer an enemy
Our American hatred weakened, our Chinese friendship strengthened
As it established great friendship with Pres. Du30!
Do not emulate the girl power of those Liberal crooks
We got an Olympic medalist Heidilyn & Ms. International 2016
But Leila & Leni?...Can only ruin our country…like blasted nukes!
Do not worry for we have Pacquiao as still winner & role model
Alongwith Gen. Bato, a victim of yellow washing machine
But these Pro-Du30 men…to criminals tough, to innocents gentle!
May God allow this True Change to take place with continuity
Let Pres. Duterte lead us for many more years to come
For the Supermajority, for you & me… for our country!

*Our Golden Times During PDu30
Fatherly advice you would bestow
Ambiguous though it would be at times
Tactful ways you would employ
Heart-to-heart we’d have discussions
Emotional sometimes they’d be
Rational mostly, the fruit of humble simplicity
Seeds of wisdom scattered to the winds
Daddy's little girl, still after all these years
Appreciating my role model throughout life’s lessons
Youth forever in my heart ~ Happy Father’s Day!

Your the anchor underneath
Though am the boat they see
Your the switch on the wall
Though am the light they see
Your the aroma they feel
Though am the blossom they see
You are beautiful.
Whatever better man I better
It's your pleas that mend
Your faithfulness and patience
what else can a man ever dream?
A godly woman you are
A mature lady
I learn from
Can I spend more time with you.
You’re the fun I long for
You make wonderful things.
What a wonder you are
You are a deep river
You flood my destiny
And bring out the best in me.
My favorite place to be
My greatest story is you
For I wouldn’t be half the man I am without you.
You make loving fun
Shall I come we play?
You complete me
You are my world each day
I value your insight.
For you have a lot to give
I admire your inner strength
You the courage I know
You my role model
In the story of love they tell
You are an amazing mother
Blessed are our children to have you
You’re my best friend
I don’t know what I would do without you.
For you make me a happy man.
I’m amazed at the women you’ve become.
You accomplish a lot in me
Let the world stop so that I can still say
My wife She is My Life
Form:
Born into a world filled with deceit,
Morals that are becoming obsolete,
Tossed into a cycle of hatred and fear,
Poverty promotes some of our children to steal,
Not one child is an accident, God already new,
The hardships in life they would go through,
Not one is the same; they all have an original DNA,
There is a Purpose for every child even if they are lead astray.
Many live in a home with a single mom,
Growing up to fast like a ticking time bomb,
Latch key kids and after school care,
Is not enough love and can’t certainly prepare,
Our children with the tools they need to survive,
In a competitive world where you need an excellent drive,
Many pretend that their children are fine,
That they have not been affected in their heart, spirit and mind.
Parents are in denial,
While their children get defiled,
Young girls hanging out on the streets,
Being physically and emotionally beat,
Selling their dignity just to feel like a male figure cares,
Teenage boys don’t know how to love; they too had no one there!
Help a child that you know is in distress,
You could make the difference in their success,
Be a role model and a friend,
It does not take much too slightly bend,
A conversation and friendly smile,
May save a child from adapting to a wrong lifestyle.
