He enters looking bedraggled, tired and worn out, his skin like Vellum, blank and pale. Lifting his eyes to catch their gaze he gives a slight nod to acknowledge their presence. He scans the room as he would a poem, looking for an Indent that leads to a quiet corner. A half-lit light casts a shadow on the flock wallpaper, (ink stained)! He sits hidden from view, away from plagiaristic eyes. Head in hand scribbling while listening for a new word. A muse sings, emanating an un-heard Beat that guides his rhythm while searching for that elusive vowel. On the floor a scattering of pencil shavings and broken lead... frustration at the loss of an adjective, the Half-Rhyme squeezes like a tourniquet on the brain...
Frustration runs high as Enjambment slips off the stage and gathers in reflective pools. The Lady Pastoral reads an Elegy to the passing of Sir Rondeau Redouble, he lead a very lonely life, ascending and then diminishing becoming less Didactic, the Footle holds a Lantern for the loss, while the Limerick found it quite humorous.
At the bar a Stanza of poets gather, disciples of Villanelle, and regale of their latest triumphs in Womans Quarterly. The Epulaeryu's compare their Diamante while eating their babba ghanoosh. At the pool table the movers and shakers decant opinions on the latest 'form' something to do with A.E.I.O.U...Acrostic looks it up and down looking puzzled, Blank Verse remains silent. They dissect, analyse the entrails, the faint hearted look a little Grook. The atmosphere is tense, Verbs drift like dust in the light, causing confusion, they mop their brows with a tired Senryu, the Haiku has little to say on the matter...
A Quintain of intellectuals quietly sit, the Sicilian sipping slim line Monoku's ( no ice ) hoping for a Couplet before the end of the night. On a stool sits the barfly spilling his Bio over the counter top exposing an Ode-ious life, (Metaphorically speaking). On stage the hottest group in town, Chant Royal and the Syllables...singing their latest Sestina, the notes drift across the room resting on the floor, congealing into a Poet-tree fountain, they feel at home as the last act MC McWhirtle enthrals with his Ballad, the barman Ric Tameter calls time, the evening is a Rap, the club is Epic...

Premium Member Well Worth Waiting In

All afternoon I waited in at my house for you
But you didn’t show up and the air turned blue!

Called the servicing and maintenance department …
‘Didn’t turn up’ today was my loud lament!

Eric the engineer will be here, but it wont’ be until tomorrow
Four on the dot I’ve been promised or I’ll give him sorrow!

Getting agitated, as I’ve had to take more time off work
He better arrive today … I’m ready to strangle the jerk!

I waited and waited and he still didn’t show
Just phoned again they said sorry Eric’s very slow!

Keeping my temper was a VERY hard thing for me
Let’s make a firm appointment for tomorrow at three

My nerves were frayed I was getting annoyed
Now the doorbell rings, I am really overjoyed!

Opening the door and I see Eric is standing there
Pecs like a bodybuilder… all I could do was stare!

Quickly I invite him inside to try and fix my cooker
Really glad he’s arrived, as Eric’s a real good looker

‘Sorry’ Eric says but I must call back later with a spare part
Then you can cook me dinner - I think I’ve captured Eric’s heart!

Picture Me At Ease (Angel of Sadness)

Picture me at ease
Think of me enjoying one last breeze
The characteristics in my personality
so hard to please
Saturday mornings it’s Ric D’s
Another mother
trying to feed her family from her knees
It’s all good in your eyesight
But you and I
were born to stand on the other side of right
And I can’t reach for heaven
For the statistics say I’m only five, seven
I just want you to picture me at ease
Think of me enjoying one last breeze
Fact is after the hugs, kisses, and unfortunate risk
Yes my dreams will shatter
The past is made
yet the future remains a broken pattern
My only token is plastic leather, “Plather”
I’ll be here, therefore and after
Someone to grasp you, embrace your tears
But picture me at ease
Just think of me enjoying one last breeze
And it’s the same depressing song
That keeps us stretching past the wrong
Smiles and guilt trips
cause we are only stressing to live long
Better yet it’s a blessing to rest at home
My can tin’s filled with nothing
My palms is blistered, my misery telling me to toughen
I’m living to die
So I don’t often bother with breathing
Nonsense is adolescents teething
But picture me at ease
Think of me enjoying one last breeze

My Nanna

Up to the sky, now you can sleep.
Cloud as a pillow, us down here all weep.

Thinking back of all the things, the talks we'd have, the joy you'd bring.

When I think of you, my heart it aches.
I wish you were here to fix my mistakes.

I wasn't the best, I wish I had been, the kid you deserved, my Salford Queen.

When D Man came, your spark came back, watching him plan, his next attack.

A Great Nanna, you're gonne be. When Ric and Alice have their little baby.
It makes me sad, that you won't see, how big an impact you would have been.

It's time to go now, god bless and sleep tight. Our shining star, that shines so bright.

Never Wrote An Acrostic Before

In response to acrostic about Ric.

R-ealized that God is who I believe;
I-nterlude from Him would receive;
C-harmed by Him who does relieve.

A-bundance of love from God obtain;
R-ain outside falls on  soil and grain;
C-aste upon my nebulus native soil;
E-nergy had been used to till and toil;
N-ow that from God is much to gain
A-lways allured by what will remain;
L-ove forever like sweet sugar cane.

My first Acrostic and hope it was not too
caustic coming from someone who may
be agnostic and do run a test that appears
to be diagnostic.
