Street Life

Poet: Ken Jordan
Story: Street Life
written: July/2014

Child, I have seen many nights
turn to dawn, out in the streets.
I was you once,  left home thinking that
I could take care of myself at eighteen.

My parents told me what to
expect from my decision to walk away
from the one's who loved me.

     Whatever they said, didn't matter,
because I was mentally gone, (lost) and
rushing to get out there in the unforgiving
 cesspool of street life.

One thing is clear,  once out there,
I learned very quickly what my parents
tried to get me to see.

The streets are cold , cruel , vicious,
 and everyone's for themselves.

When your money runs out, your group
of so called "friends," are gone.

No one is going to give you
something for nothing,  you make
it the best way that you can.

      Looking back, the temptation of
being out there with my friends,
doing whatever I wanted to do,
without permission from my parents,
was the lure that motivated my
desire to leave home, and hang out
in the streets.

      My parents fought tirelessly to
protect me from the hazards of
street life, but obviously, I wouldn't
listen.

They said son, you're too young at
eighteen, haven't finished high school;
you have no money.
What makes you think that you can
make it out there on your on.

You think that it's cool to hang-out, smoke
weed, drink alcohol, pop pills, do edible drugs, and stay up (high )
all night, and fallout wherever
you are.

The devil is a liar, he will set you up,
to lure you in,  he'll make you think that
you're, "part of his street family," but, when
it all goes down, (and it will go down), the
devil will point a finger your way,  and
leave  you to defend yourself, and move
on to the next victim.

In street life, you better know  which-a-way
 the wicked come.
They  wear false faces to hide who
they really are.

      I played with the
devil, and crossed many murky,
dark rivers, but, the devil did not win.

I heard my parents voice's saying,
"Theirs only two places to go
from street life, prison or the cemetery."

The devil is a lair, and he's not your
friend. be aware of who and what
you follow, because, all feathers
ain't good feathers, choose the path
of least resistance, and your life
will change for the good in you.

Only a Matter of Time Part 1 of 3

(Gen. 1: 1, 14 / * Isa. 26: 4 / Isa. 43: 10 , Isa. 44: 6 , Isa. 45: 5-7, 17, Isa. 46: 9-11 /
* Acts 1: 7  /  * Eccl. 3: 1-8, 11  /  Mark 13: 30-33  /  1 Tim. 1: 17 / Jude 25 /  Rev. 21 :6)

The King Of Eternity Gave Me Laser Answers
So That I Would Know of All Matters
That It's All Only A Matter of Time
Yes, All Things Are Set In Time's Prime

Yes, It's All Only A Matter of Time's Size
It All Comes In The Frame As Time Supplies
The Past, The Present & The Future All Relates
It All Devolves Upon The Time That It Takes To Make:

Once Upon A Time:
One Drop of Water Pierced A Stone-Face Into A Smile
One Step Then Another Paced A Walk, A Million Miles
One Speck of Dust Then Another Made Earth's Mosaic-Tiles
... of Pebbles Into Boulders Until The Many Mountains Piled
& A Child Grew From An Embryo, As One Cell Multiplied
All In A Matter of Time's Length & Scope & Steady Strides

Once Upon A Time:
One Thread Joined Another Until Its Sewn Into A Fashion Style
& Years Reached The Hour's Stroke That Heralded End of Trials
Each Separate Instant As It Happened - Produced History's Files
See - Its All Only A Matter of Time, All The While

There Is A Time For Every Matter & A Time For Every Thing
It's All Only A Matter of Time's Space, Track & Sync
So It's Only A Matter of Minutes In The Continuum of Time
'Til We'll Meet The Moment - All Is Divine

Whether Its A Hard Conclusion or An Easy Climb
Whether Infinity Is Curved or In A Strict, Straight Line
Whether We Fail To Find Our Own Finally Arrived Sign
Or The Start & A Stop & In The Middle That Binds
Its All Only In A Matter of Time ...

Whether That's To Catch Ocean Waves or A Winds Cadence
Or To Fly Thru Galaxies By The Speed of Light's Radiance
Time Is Ever Moving Forward & Spreading In The Distance
Time Has No Break & Man Can't Hold Time With Resistance

Time Is A Touchstone, That A Traveler Uses As A Chart
Minutes Are Modes of Transport, In Time's Non-Stop March
A Moment Is Only A Motion, of Emotional Import
Yet Whether Its Digital or Analog or Of A Sundial Sort
We Can Touch Time - From Our Own Back-Porch

Time of Itself Is An Interval ... & Time Is A Track
One Can't Rewind Actions & Time Won't Run Back
(Unless of Course GOD Himself Designates That Act)
But Time Is Organized & A Tamper-Proof-Fact

Crown of Sonnets - Love

I heard so long before, crying from fields where blow

it 'round the lonely stones, hair-waving gentleness.

Were it a poison o, still I would ride its breeze,

trailing so finely forgetting resentfulness.

How can it worry, when ne’r does it lack its ease

Winding and binding the waters and highest cloud?

Oh that I could have run past those unbending trees,

For to return to the land were my thoughts ring loud

when the breeze takes me away from this bleakest light.

Unto the storm! I go unto its lighten’d shroud!

Perverted science, our earth, oh our earth in plight.

Need them we never shall, for we shall never leave.

Stormy winds blow past our necks, and the gods, they know

When ones like we have found what they could never show.

Me, oh for me, thus myself low, in mourning. Such

men blame themselves, their lost love from whence hope arose.

Hope, it depends only on wishes ne’r conceiv’d

past what primordial dreams that men hold so close.

Fantastic imag’ry, happiness here receiv’d,

tells himself that which he wishes so much to hear.

How can a man so himself cover, so deceiv’d?

How did he think that this love, unthought, would appear?

How can he walk down this rail-thin road while so blind?

Whether he wonder’d if living or not, its here!

Sailing across the sea, riding waves, felt so kind.

Parted his life when his glass house did shatter, and

there in the fields, he lie on his back, pain’d so much.

Where was his love? Could it have been in fleeting touch?

Cried out he did when his life shatter’d ‘fore his eyes.

He wanted never to look back with morose face,

Only look forward to future loves, of this kind.

Laughter and joyous voice, sounded in man’s cold race,

touch’d by the countless works of dissilusion’d mind,

art from adversity, love from the artist’s heart,

pain’d from eternal grief, mark’d by eternal grind,

in love’s name, his one wish, from whence his hope would part.

Realiz’d that his heart will never see love again,

Turn’d to in desp’rate resistance against his heart,

winds, rays, and waters, his void fill’d with life again,

Were it a poison o, still he would ride the breeze.

Love loses meaning, emotion, no more he cries,

Only the sun, the stars and dark, cool ev’ning skies.

GHOST MIRRORS

Ghostly images captured within the prism of reflected light,
Ethereal waves rippling against reality’s framed surface
Of the translucent, as phantom hands press, slamming at
The fragile glass of dualities deadened zone of existence!
A sudden shimmering, in the beguiling mirror of illusions,
As in the icy eerie chill of this frozen man made pool of
Optical delusions, something within shifted and moved!
Disembodiment's outcasts to incisions resistance, cut at
The bitter edge of the graves stone marker, are these
Silhouette shadow beings, trapped within clarities maze
Of solid crystal!
Black sheets haunted, hidden behind the spiritual mirrors
Of religion, encasement's prison of soulless mists, a vaporous
Cage without iron bars, nor steels reinforcement, these are
The lost or damnation's cursed unto the light of salvation!
What skeletal keys can unlock these dimensional doorway,
And just where is the keyhole to fit, this illusionary anomaly?
At the shutters sudden flash, in ethereal creature slides
Across the screen of realities review mirror, a dark
Hauntings presence that alluding the neck eyes detection!
A dead man’s situation lies exposed, by the elemental
Reflection of lights retraction, hidden beneath the graveyards
Bones of the unsolved murder!
Within the winds of the whistling breeze, hear the unruffled
Cries of fates lost children, crying out for justices guiding
Light to save them, from the disembodied hands of their
Tormentors!
Running children of the ethereal night, whom rage in
Vengeance, against the glass prism of shattered light,
Weeping in devastation's despair, for their loss of life eternal!
At the flashing neon point of no return, the devils forsaken
Sake at the tempered glass of realism, clamoring to be
Recognized for once existing!
Within the four squared frame of reality, dwells the
Infinite pool of the ethereal realm, and in its rippling
Waves, phantom faces are shone in the tormented poises
Of the after life’s jail cell, without the possibility of
Paroles final tender mercy!
Ghostly images captured within the prism of reflected light,
Ethereal waves rippling against reality’s framed surface
Of the translucent, as phantom hands press, slamming at
The fragile glass of dualities deadened zone of existence!

Be You

Foundation.

With the considerable rise of AI software on all social media and business platforms, will humanity lose its creative edge?

Will you be tempted to do so?

Title:
Be You

(A lone voice whispers)

Be You
Forgo assimilation

And try to avoid being spellbound and tied into the new B System

Dream and aspire before you're retired

With all your soul's, inner resistance

Don't be bound to mundane hearts, no longer open to being plowed, with ravenous curious fingers

Hearts enslaved into a dark broken Labyrinth of unspoken, and untold things

Which could linger

From sad souls who've cried, as their creativity withered and died

Absorbed by the cleverly assimilated imagery and well created lies

To be one of the many lonely wanderers

Tumbling blind through inspirations now barren playgrounds

As the new, AI Hive Minds, long reach fires up to reteach

Newly breached, unconnected human firewalls

While wild valley blackbirds and starling flocks

Scream and call out in unison, at the lack of the rising poetry

Music or literature, filled with human energy

As spiritual temperatures worldwide, fall

Putting ingenuity into jeopardy

Screeching about the impending icy cold bath of human separation

As they fly as huge wailing flocks, into the Summer Equinox

With the frosty breath, of AI Death of the Soul

Lingering around like black mold

With bony fingers
Rattling without a sound

Awaiting its resurrection
As daylight recedes and people seem to lose hope

But on that Devil's Island for some of the Condemned

The one called Earth

The Exalted Ones
Maybe like you

Unassimilated and still free

Can lift up the trapped
Those poor souls caught up in The Hive Mind

Slowly been drained of personality and self identity

Lost in the humankind labyrinth of the unspoken and untold

Who needs releasing to help rebuild the new pillars of creativity upon Earth

With their eventual rebirth

This my friend with the bright eyes unseen

Has always been a worthy oath to follow

For you've always been free to share your gift of uplifting

Energetic, raw, and visual

Literature
Music or poetry

Maybe bestowed
From The Sacred Temples of Apollo

What's says you?

Are you going to strive to stay the real you?

Homeless

The rain was pouring, thunder in the distance
Her tattered coat offered no resistance
I saw her walking, soaking wet
Filled with anger and regret

Cast aside from all she’s known
Living in a cardboard home
I had to know what caused her fate
What filled her heart with all this hate

I stopped the car and called her near
She looked at me with eyes of fear
I said, “I’d like to chat with you”
She said, “chatting’s all we’ll do”

She climbed inside, we drove away
Stopped at a coffee shop along the way
I asked what had happened in her life
Why she wasn’t someone’s wife

She said, “I was, I had it all
Husband, kids, shopped at the mall
But we lost our love, I began to stray
He took the kids and went away”

“I had no skills, never went to school
Looking back now, I was such a fool
Pretty soon, the house was gone
I was out on the street and all alone”

“Husband told the kids I was nothing but trash
So, I guess my family’s all in the past
Now, I wander around, stop at the kitchen
They give me some food and listen to my bitchin”

“They think I’m crazy and that’s okay
If they were in my shoes, they wouldn’t last a day
It’s a hard life out here, you get beat up and spit on
But sometimes, someone will toss you a bone”

“And they’ll tell you not to spend it all on booze
Hell, a drink or some food - it’s not hard to choose
You get used to eating the dumpster food
But when you get a buck or two, hot food’s so good”

I had bought her the special, she was eating it slow
Didn’t want to go out in the rain, I know
We talked a while longer, then I had to leave
I handed her a twenty, she tucked it in her sleeve

I asked the manager if she could stay for a while
He looked at her and gave me a smile
He said she could stay till the rain let up
And he walked over to fill up her coffee cup

I was walking past her, she grabbed my hand
She said, “It doesn’t take much to get where I am
It could just as easily be you sitting here”
I walked away fighting back a tear

It’s true what she said, just a paycheck away
A bad set of circumstances on any given day
Now I look at the homeless a whole different way
I don’t pass them by with nothing to say

I look in their eyes and I see their pain
I do what I can to help them regain
A little of the dignity, lost to the world
Before their life had become unfurled.

Current Events Commentary

Do you think I care
For your phony Arab spring
And dead trees and hot wind
I have never seen a spring without seed popping from the soil
I should know I am made from the dust of the earth
Spring must have rain and bring flowers
Like the peace people use to sell in California
Before I knew they were only exploited slaves
Following someone else's agenda
Muttering words that were meaningless to their existence
You see what I cannot believe in what I see again
I am a man of faith, and have always been
Since the blindfold fell like scales of history
There is no Arab spring
Only the death of the old undying resistance
That would not conform to nothing but self
Only the death of people in the street
Who does not know the puppiteer willed them
For if they return from the dead
What will they see
Only the same old things more dilapidated than before
Only the invisible hand doing visible things
Killing people and calling it spring
That the new world order may prevail
As a new nomenclature
For the same old stuff that has made us barren
And berefted us of dreams
I want my children to better off than I have been
I can only entrust to me
Sleeping at their door armed with a prayer and an angel
That is who we were
Before the primitive hordes came from the sea
Before the sea people defied the bounds of their habitation
Before our empires were stolen
And we ended up in cages at the Bronx zoo
Yeah, you should read that story too
It is only by prayers we suruvive
It is the mystic part of us, the first part they derided
Calling it animism, or some dark sinister stuff
Making us afraid to own ourselves
We abandoned everything and found no berth
In their new economic order
For we were always commodities or some sort of value in exchange
So those high sounding, idealistic documents
They copied from what we believe but could not bring to pass
Those constitutions were not about us nor our possibility
For we were not construed to have humanity enough for that.
Then are we suddenly men again
That the Arab spring should be something more than a sinister thing.
I stop believing in Trojan horses long ago
I mean it is there as a gift
But I will keep working the night shift
When there is no moon
Just remember what is the color of my skin
Because all things work together for good
And I cannot walk by sight in the darkness
So I live by faith in season and out of season.

Hardcore Satanists

world wars your mongering for
the big satanic bloodbath
more appealing to god
then two homosexual men
The devil may cry
my favorite angel facing a feat of unequal measure
since you know soo much about him
live it everyday
you never let him live this down
just work on making yourselves miserable
you look soo happy that way
words you read by the best
your own walking contradiction
so caught up in getting what you want at anycost
you forgot what he wanted
and there is a price to pay
signed yourself up for a fight that isnt yours
the rules you live by
they are enforced
you cant scramble away from this fast enough
the lie you live for power
lesser of two evils presented to you
path of least resistance corners you again
sing yourself to suicide ever soo sweetly
the shortest straw has no alibi
and i think its funny
Jesus has some truth to tell him
slip the witch a missing letter
she doesnt mind bringin him back to life
even the devil you know
splattered all over your pages
the philosophy you seem to live everyday
offered you a short term power
and we just throw you away
came to get my favorite angel
something youve been denying yourself the whole time
trivial pursuit of endless lies manipulating yourselves this way is such a shame
now i'm not obligated to help you
you had a choice
the game of life you signed up for is coming round again
faster than you think
your underground rivalry of seeking after power
i paid the devil to see if you would make this mistake
then you did and i agreed he could do the dirty work in jesus name
the truth will get you in karmic laws you forgot about
threefolds of being humbled
and humbled and humbled again
wont even help you, you cant get away
hardcore satanists dressed up as saints messing up their own destiny
did the world not tell you
life is a test?
you were tested
you failed
the devil was in on it
enjoy your bloodbaths of endless wars in hell
the world kept this under rug swept
and now for you there is no way out
paid the devil for me
and jesus will eventualy set him free from the you he doesnt want
your not fathoming this properly
jesus was tortured so you wouldnt be
the letter gone missing
now whose got a face to blame
hardcore satanists
my favorite angel loves me
he wouldnt allow me to live this nightmare
so hes taking you far far away

In magical verses weave your fated heart's request,
With metaphors holding the shy choir of light abreast,
When hearts corroded by hatred in barrenness rest,
And chains of thought whip gently the gentle flight's zest.
If you are to regain control once more,
When friends of yesteryear were but a lore,
Whose drab garments through time emphatically wore,
But forgiveness you've secreted from its core.
And if in hope you can stand upright,
Not raising armor before the liar’s project slight,
When rage whispers edicts as if to indict,
Melt it in calm, with spirit bright.
Show the world whole your portrait fair,
No masks, no regret, laid bare,
And if you dream of deep breaks in despair,
May you not become in others' lives a dismal seer.
When eternity throws its cold shadow in your corner's crease,
You should gaze with eyes that do not buckle under time’s caprice.
Every living moment in time's palm surely will not cease,
On the heart's scale, they demand to be released.
If you can listen when the truth is spoken,
Alien and shifted in a world that's been broken,
And to persist through the common lies outspoken,
To find faith beneath the frothy spray's token.
If you dare face decay’s embrace without dread,
Avoiding the gilded pleasure's feigned spread,
And in autumn whispers feel your stern fall ahead,
In the poverty of a sky that once display had fed.
Risk carrying on the die heavy, precious pearls,
Wager all that you've got for a fleeting twirl,
And then, whoever you are, learn not to hurl hopes like chaff,
Your failures become a path leading to something more sacred, more daft.
Endure, in a feeble body, remorse and persistence,
Wearing a smile as a shield, melting the tormenting ice of existence.
Cherish the moment that remains in unending instance,
With a soul lined in armor's silent resistance.
If you can fill the silences in empty spaces,
When shattered times speak with yesterday's faces,
Replenish them with fresh sparks among the disgraces,
Then you will build from seconds, unbroken traces.
And the Earth shall through you be magnified,
And all that writhes in its infinite tide,
And in this great shaken, you'll uncover as scribed,
That you're a whole man, not just a soul that's been pried,
Not part of the herd whose times have dried,
But master of the strength from your own dream derived.

Eyecandy

I’m not afraid of rejection
I’m afraid of the phoenix that will rise from my spine with the threat of treason
Suppress the flame and walk away
Use your once tempted fingers to point yourself in the direction of least resistance
It’s not the road less traveled by,
It’s the lifeless path, ignored and left to crumble
And now it’s shapeshifting through a lifetime
With internal scars and deep holes that desperately need filling
And if you think I’m talking about a road, than you’re not the brightest bulb in the bunch
And if you think I mean with asphalt than you’re head is not as sharp as I thought it was
Waiting for secrets to be spilled
But you are the secret
You’re life is just chemicals and I’m not afraid of rejection
I’m afraid of combining the wrong elements of friction
To where I can’t come back from this reaction
A perfect pairing like the sun and the snow
Under every step, swam the quicksand
But we were too blinded by my naivety to know
Romeo and Juliet had nothing on us
But we ended even more tragically
And less enigmatically
I'm in the hunger games for your attention
And there's ever-changing rules I keep missing that you fail to mention
And breaking them could lead to my undeserving disqualification
But I’ve already demoted these thoughts into empty air
Hoping they’d vanish if I just ignore them
Sometimes you have to pretend your house isn’t haunted
For the spirits to finally exit
I’m not afraid of rejection
I’m afraid of the burning passion I can see in my eyes without a reflection
I’m terrified of the way I fall for corrupted introspection
And with a burning passion comes a burning question
What would've happened if I went through with it?
I’m not afraid of rejection
I’m afraid of the avalanche that will bury me if I reclimb this mountain
And looking up from the bottom seems so intimidating
But a butterfly never worries about what it looks like in the beginning
I’m so tied down, like a rope around my neck, I’m suspended here by something
So convoluted, is your mind a black hole or a galaxy?
If you’re Juliet, than you know who I’d be
There's lingering passion in my eyes I don't need a reflection to see
Is it gunpowder or a lack of sugar and water?
You can't be the lighter, I can't be the hairspray
Just suppress the flame and walk away
