Premium Member King Solomon's Judgment

He was now sovereign of the land of Israel.
Following in his father David’s steps, he ruled well.
This land had never displayed so much prosperity.
No king would ever be more powerful and wealthy.
The Jerusalem palace now showed great opulence.
However, he employed great wisdom and providence.
David said, “Walk in God’s ways and obey each decree,
Then He shall in turn keep the promise He made to me.
If your descendents adhere to My commandments well,
someone will always sit on the throne of Israel.”
Solomon kept his word as his father lay dying,
to be forever faithful to God and discerning.
He must be prosperous in every undertaking,
diligence and integrity never forsaking.
The Lord gave discernment, great knowledge, and keen insight.
God spoke to Solomon in a dream he had one night.

On one day, two prostitutes appeared before the king.
These women presented issues both were disputing.
They lived together in a brothel in the city.
Each was ill favored, and neither deserved his pity.
These women both claimed to be the mother of a son.
They declared victimization by the other one.
The first woman said, “Her baby is the one that’s dead,
she rolled over in her sleep, and covered her son’s head.
I discovered that morning when I would nurse my son,
she took my baby and substituted her dead one.”
The next woman said, “No, do not believe such a thing!
My son is alive! Her baby is dead! She’s lying!”
The other one cried, “That one is mine, she’s deceiving!
How could someone do such an evil deed, mighty king?”
Solomon evaluated each testimony.
He made this decision on hearing each woman’s plea:
“Bring me a sword; I shall divide this baby in two.
There shall be two halves of this child for each of you.”
The second woman said, “Yes king, do it! That sounds good!
Cut that thing in two. If I can’t have him, no one should!”
The first one yelled, “Don’t kill him! Please don’t do such a thing!
Give the baby to her and spare his life, my great king!”
Solomon turned to the first woman and said to her:
“Here woman, take the child, you are the true mother.
You have shown compassion here. There can be no other!”

This was just one example of Solomon’s wisdom.
There would never be a greater man in this kingdom.

Temptation of Christ

For forty days and forty nights,
He fasted by religious rites;
No nourishment sustaining him beneath the burning sun.
And so it passed that he should meet,
Amidst the desert's scorching heat,
The mastermind of all deceit, the undeserving one.

The devil, in his deft demeanor,
Notice that the Lord was leaner,
And preyed upon his hunger, for surely he did pine.
"If thou art truly Heaven's prize,
"Then suffer not, but improvise,
"Make bread of stone, foul of flies, and spit can be your wine."

"Tempt me not," our Savior spake.
"Go back into your burning lake.
"Man lives not by bread alone, but also by his deeds.
"I'll not submit to your allure,
"Nor from my father will implore,
"But suffer here forevermore, or wither father needs."

Then later, on a temple high,
"Cast thee off and thou shalt fly,
"Lest at any time thou dash thy foot upon a stone."
So spoke the fallen angel, he,
Who wouldn't let our Savior be,
But schemed instead ferociously, for the soul he'd love to own.

"What need have I to take this fall;
"To prove to you my wherewithal?
"Why should I, at your request, do what you should ask?
"Such beauty from this altitude,
"To leave abruptly would be rude,
"But if you need I'm sure that you'd be perfect for the task."

The devil, with his final test,
Took Jesus to a mountain's crest,
And showed to him the kingdoms of the Earth, and all their glory.
"This and more I'll give to thee,
"I'll crown thee king, eternally,
"If thou would only worship me, praise me, and adore me."

"I have but one I call my Lord,
"No pain of death by flame or sword,
"Could ever cause me to betray, nor covet what you sell.
"Thrice you've tempted me, an so,
"You'll thricely reap the grief and woe,
"Of every horror that I know, now get thee back to hell!"

And so it ends, this tale of tales,
Where good doth triumph, evil fails,
But sadly, as we often see, the world's a good mans fall.
So ask yourselves, true and wholly,
Something you must answer solely,
At what price will your own soul be, when the devil comes call.

Jesus the Only Way

JESUS THE ONLY WAY

For God so loved the world that He gave as the atoning sacrifice for sin His one and only Son
There is no other name given under heaven by which we can be reconciled to God He is the
one
Jesus said, He was the way, the truth, and the life, no one could come to the Father but by
Him
Neither is there salvation in any other, He is the only Savior who can forgive and wash away
sin.

He is the one who God spoke of, the seed of the woman that would crush the head of the
serpent
He came to seek and save the lost, giving His life a ransom for many He calls sinners to
repent
Those who believe and put their trust in Him, find forgiveness for sin by the blood of the
Lamb
He has revealed Himself as Savior, Lord, and God, His children know Him as the great I AM.

He is the mediator that makes the way to God accessible because He became the sin offering
He is the forerunner entering into God’s presence and for us he is now praying and
interceding
He understands human weakness because He became one of us but He never committed
any sin
He faced everything we will face and overcame it all and now He is the way for us to enter in.

He makes God’s throne accessible to all who come in faith believing offering mercy and grace
He gives His righteousness to all who trust in him so we are accepted by God into the holy
place
To everyone who receives Him, to them He gives the right to be called one of God’s children
For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved and receive forgiveness of
sin.

All authority has been given to Him by God the Father He is the sovereign ruler over all
creation
He is the only Savior and Redeemer, who can change you and give your life a total
transformation
He is coming back one day for His own to take us to heaven where forever His praises will
be heard
He alone possesses the wisdom and power to perform all He has promised He would do in
His word.

Premium Member Where Has Dad Gone, Mama Dear

Where has dad gone, momma dear?
Hush, my little lamb.
Your dad's gone to the thicket dear
And mad old Abraham

That man went early this grim morn, and took his sharpened knife
And with him took his own first born, to offer up his life
With servants and with firewood, both, they journeyed to Moriah
And on the hillside there they built an altar and a fire

And Isaac, when he heard the plan, went willingly, it's odd
That he should let that daft old man, so worship his cruel god.
Your father, he was passing by, and heard but could not see
And foolishly could not deny his curiosity

So closer did your father scramble peering through the thorns
Unaware of how the brambles tangled with his horns
Just to see a crazy man who planned to kill his kin
Your father did not understand the danger he was in

For then again that mad old man started hearing voices
His god was speaking to the loon and giving him new choices
And so his plan to slay the boy came about to falter
And Abraham, he took your pa and dragged him to the altar

But that was never fair, mama, can you tell me why
When Isaac he was all prepared and well prepared to die
And all had been decided on, so what cruel trick mama
Was played upon that grand old ram, who was my own papa?

Life is not fair, my little lamb, nor is it like to change
And fate plays tricks on all of us, both sinister and strange
So you take care, my little lamb, with this advice from me
Do not visit places where you know you should not be

The moral of this story dear, is take heed of the odds
And stay away from two-leggies worshipping their gods

Patriarch --Revised--

“Deus Pascit Corvis” adorns the crest of the House of Raven.
A literal translation: “God feeds even the ravens”;
The living Word might translate: God provides for all, both good and bad.
The House of Raven chose this creed, chose this yoke.
The thought of this stirs in my soul, that my Father’s people would invite,
Both his neighbor and his enemy alike to dine at his own table, in the service of our Lord.

The crest itself depicts a Corvis, or Raven,
Surrounded by a shield of gold.
A simple standard, though symbolic of so much:
Leadership and ingenuity, prudent and persevering, tough but sufficing.

To carry this name, to have the honor of birth to this lineage,
I hold only the deepest of gratitude.

The Lord gave my Father the strength,
To be a model for God in my young life.
He based his paternal guidance on the Word of the Son,
And planted the seed of love in my heart that it may one day grow to bloom,
With faith. That I might be the oak for my family that my Father was for me.
Blessed is the Lord, for my Father and for his Father who provided the grit and the resource,
And carved out the pedestal on which our family stands.

I now believe, in my heart of hearts, that all of this was given, the Corvis Patriarch,
Modest but persistent, for the service of our Lord,
That we should strive to do all things for the Glory of God through the Word of the
Son.

They Know Not What They Do

Tell me again father in Heaven, why I must die for their sins.
Hearing your voice, shall prepare my way upward to you.
Early this year you said, I would be with you so very soon.
You told me, I would be sacrificed for all their sins on earth.

Kindness and love, is all I ever give here, to all I have met.
Now I must die, so they will live again, lest they forget.
Our love, father, is the greatest gift, that we share with all.
Who would be the traitor, denier; others will just let me go.

Now they judge me, send me to prison; force me to break.
Only you my father in Heaven understand their mistake.
They know not what they do to their savior, your son.

Whosoever believes, that I suffered on the cross for them?
Hear after and beyond, shall never parish from thine eyes.
Along shall have a place in your kingdom forever more.
They know not what they do, these torturers upon me.

Tell me again father, as of now, they know not what they done.
Hear my prayers my lord and father, I give my life for them.
Each one who believes in what I have done, preparing way.
Yet, this humanity now, they know what they do.

Dear father and lord of mine, I forgive, what they have done.
Our love together shall await, choice is theirs for what to do.

The Greatest Gift Ever Given

THE GREATEST GIFT GIVEN
-THE BREATH OF LIFE-
A GREAT THING GIVEN FROM OUR FATHER WAS,
A WORLD WITH BLUE SKYIES,BLUE OCEANS, ANIMALS, TREES, SUNLIGHT, FOOD, PEACE,
JOY, BEAUTY,
HARMONIOUSLY LIVING TOGETHER ; IN PERFECT COMPANIONSHIP.
GOD THE FATHER DIDN'T STOP THERE, HE GAVE US
THE ULTIMATE GREATEST GIFT ANYONE
COULD EVER GIVE; WHEN HE ; BLEW THE BREATHE OF LIFE INTO ADAM'S NOSTRILS.
GOD DIDN'T STOP THERE THOUGH, HE PROVIDED ADAM WITH A GARDEN OF GLORIOUS
BEAUTY AND PERFECTION.
SHORTLY AFTER THE LORD GOD ASK ADAM "WHAT IS WRONG ADAM"? ADAM REPLIED I
FEEL LONELY, I WISH I HAD A COMPANION". QUIETLY GOD THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT ADAM
HAD SAID; AND PUSHING HIS FEELINGS ASIDE,
HE PUT ADAM INTO A DEEP SLEEP
AND MADE A COMPANION FOR HIM.
FLESH OF MY FLESH, BONE OF MY BONE,
AND THEN GOD TOOK A RIB FROM ADAM AND GAVE IT TO EVE.
AFTERWARDS GOD SAT ADAM AND EVE DOWN AND EXPLAINED
TO THEM THAT ONLY ONE THING
THEY WERE FORBIDDIN TO DO AND THAT WAS TO EAT FRUIT
FROM THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL; FOR THEY WOULD SURLY DIE.

My Father and My Friend

My Father and my friend,
I love not to live by pretense,
Nor love I your sacrosanct decrees to bend;
I repent every transgression hence,
And pray that you may your mercies lend.

Feed me my Father and my friend,
And put raiment upon my skin;
Upon my poetry I pray you send
Your benediction and endorsement unseen.

Fine-tune the timbre and pitch of my oration,
My Father and my friend of all creation;
And speak on me the benefits of fame,
And cause my tongue to proclaim thy name.

My Father and my friend unchanging,
Full of love and care unflinching,
Be my comforter in times of cry and sorrow,
And hide from me the uncertainties of tomorrow.

Hear me my Father and my friend,
For I'm candid and dare not pretend!
