Broken Resolve

resolutions fail
promises may get broken
yet we must still try

Now that all the family and friends have retreated back to their own caves to digest the pies, cookies and candied everything of another holiday ruckus, it’s finally time for me to tidy up the old homestead. January has arrived here in the Ozarks. It is traditionally a month of resolutions. Those promises we all make to ourselves to be better neighbors, better friends, better family…better human beings. Time for reflection and regeneration. A time to remember those things that treated us well and how not to repeat the mistakes we've made throughout the years. I have my list, though I’m sure most of them will fall by the wayside within days, I’ll still try to keep them as long as I can. Because even though I’ll only keep my resolution for a day, a week or a month, my life might be in a better place for a while. Besides, who says I can only make a resolution once?

Tammy's Teddy

Flashing lights of neon blue, sirens loudly roared
Neighbours gathered in the street
Wondering if anybody saw?
Confusion as the ambulance opens wide it's doors
She's carried out under white cotton sheets
As her teddy falls to the floor

It was just another Saturday
Began much as the rest
Daddy in the garden
Drinking beer in his old stringed vest

Mom was in the kitchen
Keeping out of sight
He did'nt need an excuse
To cause a bloody fight

Tammy in her bedroom
Another drink for daddy
His mood was getting dark
It would not be much longer
Before the beatings start

He staggered to the Kitchen
Slurring as he spoke
He had a grin upon his face
But this mood was no joke

He grabbed his wife
He threw her
Her head hitting against the wall
She lost consciousness so quickly
Remembers little of what she saw

Heading to the bedroom
Cursing Tammy's name
She knew that he was coming
Froze from playing dolly games

Roughly he had grabbed her
A slap, a push, a punch
Daddy was never to be blamed
It's only cause he's drunk

Eventually it happens
They go that bit to far
Sometimes they forget
They should not leave a bruise or scar

Tammy never woke up
She was still
So pale and red
Her mother screaming chillingly
God no, my babies dead

I guess blaming there genetics
Seems an easy get out clause
If your generation beat you
Then of cause, you should beat yours

But choice and responsibility
Love care and respect
Surly they too are genetic
And as powerful as the rest

Just as transformation
From what's lost to what is found
In Regeneration of the severed soul
As faith and hope abound

Tammy's mom picked up her teddy bear
She holds it with a rose
Standing by her daughters grave
As the guilt within her grows

And Sadness Reigns

And sadness reigns
Though never ordained
from the simple truth
Billowing joy
Subverting bliss
Standards too ephemeral
To lobby the naked
wishes we hold
Desperately close
To our heart
And sadness reigns
Our heart
once whole
Sputter and mends
And beats eternally
No matter the blood
No blood the matter
It seeks, filters
and dispenses joy
From mechanoly cells
Pleading for regeneration
The familiar beg towards
Indiscriminate joys
Mean nothing but
To be left alone
Crystallized, for exhibition
to the many
Everyone partake
Seek a morsel for
Yourself
Because it's fleeting
And sadness reigns
Through our ears,
Acoustic lies flutter
Sincerely, vacant waves
Of love melodic,
It does its job,
Tainting sweetly our reality
While souls huddle close
For a deeper view
Our here and now
Climbs, repels
From sentimental summits
Vistas of pretty dreams
Fragrant, lauding over
The stench whispering
Towards the barren valley below
Then back to us
Hearing, humming
Exhuming
Chemical reactions
Singed
By recall
Broken or of whole
The music
Causing joy to
Drop by when we need it the most
And sadness reigns
We're startled,
As focus brings
The world into
Rarefied view
Intensive stare,
Colliding our senses
Interpreting their meanings
Elastic snowballs
Thundering into
Psychotic waves of
Lustful avalanches
that burn the retinas
With joy, inquisition,
Indelible glances
Hung up neatly
To wear when
Dreams demand them,
And there are peeks,
Boisterous looks
That tease your mind
And theirs
Visionary tales
Gross of dischord
And malfunction,
Though they serve
As guests,
Glee in a box,
Nibble, taste
Devour, done
And sadness reigns
Because you and I
All before us
And those to follow
And yet to come
Arrive, depart through
Unmarked swiveled doors
Betwixt adjoining suites
Cemented
Endlessly
By the mundane
we require
The horrific which we
Bring and run across
The zeal we grab
For ourselves and others
The aggression we
Wage and deflect
The resignation we extract
And authorize
And somehow
As sadness reigns
We defect
And elect
To be ruled
By something else.

Premium Member In Christ - a New Creation

Man is born in sinfulness and iniquity
then continues to follow the sinful way
there seems no way of bringing change
sin set's it's clutches on whoever it may

But God sent His son Jesus Christ
to earth coming for man's rescue
by being their substitute for sin
indwells them by His spirit made anew

With Christ indwelling the human frame
changing that sinful heart be spiritually born
the saviours presence dwells with peace
makes one awake for each morn

This work of regeneration anew
makes one a complete new creation
Christ indwelling changing character
making one like brand new nation

(' Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.')

My Superpowers

My Super Power Is Contest
Sponsor: Lewis Raynes

I have many powers handed down from generations,
My father gifted me many obscure competent abilities,
My favorite power is the capability of regeneration,
But being able to do that is probably a big liability.

I fly in the night and tomorrow’s sights appear,
My mind foresees the future as my arms spread,
I’ve seen the look in their eyes, astounded with fear,
As my hands whisk away objects over their heads.

The fated days arriving are seen when there’s trouble,
A gun may be shot and I can sweep away the bullet,
I immediately throw the perpetrator in a glass bubble,
I fly to the cliff, land and effortlessly push and pull it.

When danger arrives I sense the apprehension,
Poor lost souls can’t fight off demons themselves,
The towns people have absolutely no comprehension,
I’m bummed my powers are lost at the strike of twelve.

The witches and warlocks wish they could do what I can,
I don’t need potions to conjure up my fluent capacities,
They gather and get jealous with rage and don’t understand,
They try to compete, how dare they have the audacity.

See, my powers have been given to be used for good,
I’ve learned to adapt and fill my spirit with adoration,
I realize many people get confused and are misunderstood,
I have many powers handed down from generations.

Rebirth is in session

rebirth comes when stepping
into the best version of yourself
by removing dead things
that affect your spiritual health
just be careful where you get affirmation from
as you take this new path
as the enemy is just waiting to implement
it's demonic plans

rebirth is in session
strongholds have been broken
rebirth is in session
the Great I Am has spoken

don't get caught up in man-made mazes
that cause frustration
as every open door won't lead
to a godly revelation
true rebirth is rooted in godly regeneration
as only the Holy Spirit can provide
spiritual rejuvenation

rebirth is in session
strongholds have been broken
rebirth is in session
the Great I Am has spoken

the inevitability of God's will
shall come to fruition
the perpetual promises of God
shall grant spiritual intuition
rebirth is in session
for that's when The Great I Give
removes us from wildernesses
with provisions on which to live

rebirth is in session
strongholds have been broken
rebirth is in session
the Great I Am has spoken

the Great I Am has no boundaries nor limitations
for God shows up and shows out
with omnipotent restoration

rebirth is now in session.
give thanks to God
exalt Him, praise Him
take His promises to heart

for true rebirth is rooted
in godly regeneration
as only the Holy Spirit can give
spiritual rejuvenation

rebirth is now in session
strongholds have been broken
rebirth is now in session.
The Great I Am has now spoken

When you can dance
Don't walk

When you can together sing
Don't monologically talk

When you can bicamerally love
Don't just try not to be quite so bipolar lost
afraid and then angry and then afraid...

When you can exercise compassion
Don't just wear out passion

When you can creolize communions
Don't colonize others' ghettos
and gated lack of multicultural community

When you can shout Yes!
Don't just mumble I'm not not Sure?

When you can cooperatively transubstantiate communion
Don't just competitively devour disunion

When you are invited into an epic liberating journey
Don't just conservatively progress

When you can preserve Earth's vast beauty
Don't just conserve Business As Usual half truths

When you can accelerate joy
Don't slowly push on braking sorrow

When you can embrace rightbrain fulfilling feelings
Don't just calculate leftbrain acquisitive thoughts

When you already feel curious
Don't slow down for building up courage

When we can access democratically shared recovery
Don't autonomously seek ego-invested overpowering relief

When you can hear and smell cooperatively-owned home
Don't continue shopping for a visually competitive house

When you can hear and feel a resonantly-managed mind
Don't continue fantasizing your most beautiful competitive body

When you can hear and taste resiliently healthy Earth
Don't continue autonomously struggling for wealth extracting property

When you can live with globally compassionate significance
Don't settle for slowly dying in local safety

When you have freedom to liberally love regeneration
Don't conservatively worry about freedom from degeneration

Don't just walk

While you can walk
Don't just crawl
